    If there's a comicbook you like the most whether the cover looks cool, the storylines, signatures, artwork or character appearances, then grade it. Once you get it graded buy the same comicbook raw to enjoy reading and looking through the pages of some cool art.

    @@NerdMorning Also too a Gatorguard comicbook case is an ideal for raw books you can personally remove the comic and place your comic in after reading.

    The main reason, it seems, that people get them graded is to increase or solidify an investment. Speculators love a “universal” grade and a high price tag. Also this doesn’t really preserve the comic. It can protect it from physical damage, but won’t stop it from deteriorating and isn’t designed to preserve comics indefinitely. If you store them properly and change out bags and board every 5-10 years, that will preserve the books just as well (and better run if it’s in the same graded plastic case for a few decades).

    How do i grade it? Do i need to sinds it to someone? One more question, can you just choose a comic book that you like and grade it ?

  • @NerdMorning

    @NerdMorning

    Good questions!, You will need to own the comic and send it in to a grading company. There are several companies CGC as well as CBCS are ones that I have used. It costs some money and can take several months for processing and grading depending on how busy the company is. Then they will send it back to you encased and with an assigned grade between 10 and 0.5 most books are usually between 9.8 and 7 from my experience. I hope that helps.

    Some comic shops have an account with CGC or CBCS and you can send them in through your local comic book shop. You can also make your own account and send them in to get graded.

    What does grading in comics mean,m

  • @NerdMorning

    @NerdMorning

    Grading is a score that professional grading companies will give out of 10. A perfect comic is usually called a 9.8. When a collector sends a comic book to a grading company they look at the book assign it a grade and then encase it in a protective plastic that displays the grade score for the comic. I hope that helps.

  • @birdy369

    But "perfect" doesn't mean like, the story is "perfect" or that the the pictures are drawn "perfect" or anything. This grading is mostly based upon the condition of its physical quality. A comic book with tears in the pages, stains, crumpled up paper, etc. means it will most likely be graded quite poorly. But, A comic book that is old yet it looks like it's brand new without any blemishes, tears, marks - aka, in "perfect" condition - will likely be graded quite high. That grading will help collectors determine its worth, especially if it's a rare print, or a significant moment in the comic's series, or a limited edition type of print. Two of the same exact comic books may not be worth the same amount of money if one of them is in better condition than the other -no matter how rare and sought after the book might be.

  • @NerdMorning

    @NerdMorning

    Жыл бұрын

    It depends on a lot of things. The rarer the book it is the more they will charge you to grade it. Grading for most companies starts around $30 and it. Goes up from there. Some grading companies have membership programs you need to sign up for annually and those cost several hundred dollars
