Charles and Khabib aren't exactly your average black belt though. They're both exceptional grapplers. You can have legit black belt level BJJ and still get dominated by those two so it's not exactly a huge condemnation of Dustin's ground game. Dustin does seem to have better offensive jiu jitsu than defensive though but he's still better than most of the division.

0:57 i just realised something about khabib...people underestimate khabib's stand up game, because khabib's stand up is very awkward and unorthodox, that's why people think he has bad stand up,, but here in the first clip of khabib you can see he literally dodged or rolled atleast 7 consecutive punches from poirier while backing off and landing two of his own punches on poirier(one was clean)... while other great strikers in this video are getting lit up by poirier...

I think people who criticize his standup (even his buddy DC) have a point, elite strikers would be able to avoid damage while retreating less and countering more. Thing is, Khabib doesn't need to risk KOs during prolonged standup offense, he's an elite wrestler who just needs enough standup to make takedown openings. He does deserve a lot of credit for developing his standup skills over his career to allow his game plan to hold up against such dangerous strikers. His chin and reflexes could be chalked up to natural gifts, but his jab, his quick collar tie on Poirier to throw off his next punch, putting his head in and out of range, that's legit skill.

I think a lot people like Dustin cause he’s just a good guy and he isn’t the “goat” he’s just a warrior. There’s something beautiful about that. Like ya khabib being undefeated is impressive but I respect Dustin more.

That chin is just legendary. Had Max wobbled pretty bad though and Max got lucky he was caught by the cage for what otherwise would be his only knock down. Both guys are elite strikers but Dustin is just bigger, stronger, and tougher at LW compared to Max.

Sometimes it's not if you Win or Lose but that you put everything into every fight. Because there's always a chance that someone might just be a little quicker, a little stronger, had a little more sleep the night before or sometimes gets a lucky shot in from left field. There is no loss of Honor in Losing when you give it everything you've got because sometimes The other guy has a motivation to Win at all costs Mentality. I don't fight competitively but in all the fights I've been in I've never been taken down! Not because I was a better fighter but because I was a better strategist than my opponent.
