    It's crazy when you realize, Georges did not have a wrestling background. Most of these big time wrestlers in the UFC started in middle school or even earlier. Georges didn't know how to wrestle until he was like 20. He became world class within a few years and beat guys with NCAA training and experience. He was a true virtuoso.

    Just on a fundamental level, it is so shitty for Koscheck to make fun of the medic. That guy is helping look after everyone in case something bad happens. And honestly, no fighter should ever talk down to someone with a job that is productive for society. We need medics way more than we would ever need adults getting in fist fights with each other just to see whose the better fighter. Same goes for actors and comedians and all other athletes.

    Actually, GSP broke his orbital bone very early on, like in some of the first of those wicked jabs, and Koschek couldn't see out of that eye from the first part of round one. It was great. I despise that dude, one of the most annoying heels in the history of the UFC. But to address some comments others have made, Koscheck, as dumb as he was at talking smack, was pretty damn smart with his money and is very well off.

    Both are incredible fighters and they both went in with the intent to stop the other by any means necessary also props to mikes willpower on not tapping and taking all the blows in the world to the face that match and gsp for just being great all round though not many fights where gsp has actually looked worse for wear afterwards normally he’s pretty.     GSP was the prototype modern fighter. He was the first person to have everything. Add to that GSP had the camp, mindset, and dedication to back it all up. He was a beast. His techniques were copied by so many fighters. He introduced the jab to MMA, he perfected the double leg takedown, he was the first person to really set up MMA shots, his judo was second to none, and his wrestling was Olympic level. This was all from a man who started out just knowing one martial art. The way he put it all to gear her was spectacular. His strategies were masterpieces. If you had a weakness he’d find it. Even if it was one punch! GSP retired the champion……… twice, and he was the champion for a reason. MMA is just now catching up to his level (Usman) and it’s amazing.

    GSP was so good because he was one of the first true mixed martial artists. His vast knowledge of fighting allowed him to easily exploit the weaknesses of his opponents. People said he was boring to watch but I never felt that way, I enjoyed watching him strategically pick apart his opponents.

    One of the scariest moments I've seen in MMA was GSP raining elbows on Bisping after he dropped him. That's the most murderous I ever saw him in a fight.

    @@sorenpx That is sort of true, but only after the second time he won the WW belt. GSP's fight with Matt Serra taught him a lesson about overconfidence he couldn't shake until he had nothing to lose against Bisping. Georges is too cerebral for a fighter. His mind gets in the way of his talent. He didn't fear the opponent as much as he feared losing. He did play it safe because he got caught once, and it changed him.

    After getting punched in the right eye 273 times in the fight, Koschek asked for a male nurse to look at it. (I grew up on the South Shore of Montreal in St. Lambert, just a few miles away from George's hometown of St. Isidore. Go George!)
