@@Spanjop Cant take shots like that forever. All chins get cracked eventually. Dustin's boxing combinations are hard to predict. BSD might get hit with something he doesnt see coming and its lights out

lobbying, some federations had power to influence regulations because they were "scared" to loose some licenses, some dumb sport minister, so it took some time for it to be legalised, and that you practice in a cage, some old woman thought it was too primal "we are not dogs" even though it's for safety reasons the problem was the fact you could hit someone on the ground while being standing up, that's what why Pancrace was allowed and competition took place and that's what we used to practice legally, it's basically MMA without ground strikes, it's Greek, in official competitions in France you followed the pancrace rules and it was ok, in clubs it was MMA

I was in the arena for the two UFC in France and it was awesome. A crowd like that makes every fight a fun fight, even the boring ones.

Man Benoit is brutal, especially those body kicks, sounds like thunder cracking.

Great killer instincts and he's quite athletic. Hope the Dustin loss is a wake-up call for him to work more on his strategy. That kind of Jiri-like aggression can beat a lot of guys but it's going to get you finished against elite competition a decent amount of the time.

1:00 in, Dustin will box this guys head off. Unbelievably stationary with his head movement.

Thing is the fight was up a weight class at welterweight, short notice like you said, and Benoit just kept standing with Dos Santos, I genuinely don't recall him getting knocked down at all during that fight. And the fact it was against someone who was likely off PEDs is even crazier. Benoit is literally "The God of War"

I think the combination of a complete lack of gameplan, his aggressive "always go forward" style and his toughness were the perfect storm for such a one-sided beating. He was basically walking into strikes not knowing how to respond and completely unwilling to quit.

His stand up has evolved so much but when he fights a striker with TD defense and power he's in trouble. Not very many out there so he's good for now. His takedowns look phenomenal but against who? He's good at relying on his opponent and guaranteed game plan. He will get lit up when he faces the top dogs who just get it done.
