You are probably the best guitar teacher on KZread. Coming from a KZread taught player for over 10 years. You should do a rhythm lesson next, funk guitar please? I love learning these wonderful things, but for me specifically (I know you probably don’t care about me) but I’m more interested in making the guitar sound percussive

I mean i have been playing for 10 years (i know i am slower than most) but i look at this and go whaaaaaaaaaaaaat !! too fast i would need to watch this 50 times at 0.50 speed to decode what your teaching . ( i am not doing it) . we need a beginner BOT !!! to zap you when you say its for beginners when really you mean advanced intermediate :) .. just some feedback from one of the slower learner types that would love to be on your side of the fence but just cant get there as the ladder to climb over is always missing rungs to get over.. and yes i bought your lessons dam it !!! hoping you will in time dumb it down a bit for us lesser mortal guitar wanna be's.. and i practice a lot everyday 1hr.......

Great lesson Tim and very tasty playing. It inspired me to fire up my Looper and give it a whirl. Sounded NOTHING like your fine playing...and my Trio was WAY OFF base...on it's bass line...and I mean way off. It got a little better when I went to my RC500 Loop station with no bells and whistles. What do you mean by Maj. Maj. or Min. Min.? I can play major scale or minor. Do you mean, ove ra Major progression, you can play the major scale. So Major Blues is playing the relative Minor or e.g., if A Major, play A Major Penta (aka F#minor?) Very often, over a I, IV, V Major Blues progression, I can also sprinkle in some Minor Pentatonic to add flavor. I am not sure that was working with this jam. Is that because you used a I, V, ii, IV progression and somehow changes the rules? The I, IV and V are still in there- was it the ii that was throwing it off? Unless I am just wrong. Pinky on fret five worked (shape 2 of Major penta) but index on V did not seem too (My girl shape.) Maybe it does work but I was not coming in on, or landing on the right roots? Thanks!

@@guitarfriendtim Thanks- that would be great. You should also point out to everyone how the major scale is comprised completely of groups of 4 notes- that is there is a pattern if you look at it that way. Whole steps everywhere except between 3-4 and 7-1 (octave.) *1(w)_ 2(w)_ 3h4* *5(w)_6(w)_ 7(h)8* The do re mi thing. It's really helpful to see it this way. Look at any diagram and it never changes. A great excercise is to play it all on one string e.g., E string so you can really hear the intervals. They are exactly the same on all strings. Also, to learn to solo, sing the melody first- play second. Don't try to solo the song- pick out the notes of the melody mostly. I am learning all the notes on the fretboad now which is helpful. Staring with those in the C Major Triad, then Cm and so on. It's a great approach. It's all about intervals. I am not great at playing the changes, yet...but I'll get there. I know my scales pretty well.
