One more tip that wasn’t in there that can make the difference between a 30ft throw and a 40ft throw is you need to keep your shoulders facing the back of the circle all the way until your left leg lands (if your right handed) and then when your left leg lands you then throw the shot-put like your throwing it from a power position. If your shoulders move towards the front of the circle before your ready to throw your gonna lose all the power on the shot. I wish I knew this because In my last season I had 5 meets where I only threw 35 feet and it was all because of this one simple mistake. Throw far guys.

So when our left foot lands our shoulders should still be completely facing the back of the circle? And that should be our cue to start power position?

@@oliversmith7287 not completely but your right shoulder should not be moving much until that left leg is set. It’s okay for your left shoulder to open up a bit though . The whole idea is to keep the shot put back until your actually ready to throw.

Hey just wanted to say thanks for every little piece of advice you’ve given me. Being on a team with a coach that focuses almost only on beginners, you are my real coach.
