3: "I've just seen murderers" | The Trial: Brianna Ghey

Today we'll hear evidence that Girl X allegedly had a 'hit list' of five children she wanted to kill.
We'll hear how messages exchanged between the two teenagers accused of Brianna's murder show Boy Y was reluctant to do it on a school night because he wanted to revise.
And we'll hear of the harrowing testimony from the dog walker who found Brianna's body shortly after the attack.
Both defendants deny murder.
The Trial takes listeners behind the headlines and into the courtrooms of some of the biggest criminal cases in the world.
The first series, 'The Trial of Lucy Letby' received more than 13 million downloads. Season Two focussed on the murder of Ashling Murphy, a 23 year old teacher from Ireland.
Season Three will follow the evidence as the jury hears it in twice weekly reports from The Daily Mail's Northern Correspondent, Liz Hull, and broadcast journalist, Caroline Cheetham.
They'll take you into the courtroom to bring you the detail as the evidence unfolds, to examine key moments and to carry out exclusive interviews with detective, victims and experts.

What really needs emphasising when it’s revealed who they are in February - Brianna could have been dead well before from the poisoning AND they may well have gotten away with that murder. Remember, Girl X had written a list of children she wanted dead - have no doubt this serial killer admirer, into Red Rooms and torture, would have gone on to kill more. For that reason, although obviously Brianna was trans, that may have just been coincidental - as, as mentioned, they originally were going to kill another child first. Brianna was merely one of five targets. I could be wrong, and maybe they killed her because she was trans, but that doesn’t really collaborate with their kill list- which was just a personal hit list of Girl X’s. Gender and identity doesn’t seem to have been a factor.

Brianna was targeted because she was vulnerable. Trans people are vulnerable because we as society keep failing them. All there

@@mynonmignon I did say I may be wrong - and as it turned out, it seems Eddie had an issue with Trans people, but for Scarlet that was just a characteristic of 1 of her 5 targets.

I think what she watched on the dark Web just made her dark thoughts a reality. They bothe have no shame or embarrassment recounting what they did to Briana or the things they fantasised about. I think about Jogn Venables who killed baby James Bulger who was released they went on to commit more offences even tho he was on a life licence. These children should never be released they are a danger to the community especially the girl who sounds like a future serial killer.

"Evil" isn't a psychological term and shouldn't be applied when trying to understand how and why violent and criminal behaviors occur. Are violent actions learnt, well, going by Bandura's social learning theory, yes, they are, the behaviors we observe from either adult models in childhood or even in characters or individuals we see in different forms of media who we identify with can be repeated. Ok, so how does this apply to Scarlet Jenkinson, well, the question would be what is different about her to other people that she related to serial killers and wanted to mimic their behaviors?. Research has evidenced that a lack of attachment (usually due to a disruption in attachment, during the critical period of 0-2 years) in childhood can lead to a lack of empathy in adolescence and adulthood, so i'd start there, there will be something in her background that shaped her antisocial attitudes and behaviors and then the violent media she consumed further influenced her to kill Brianna. I'm not a big believer in the whole "born a psychopath" idea as there is no convincing evidence to support this, people are not born anything, perhaps with a predisposition towards certain behaviors but its the environment around them that defines how they behave.

Why? She judged that Brianna was getting better after she had been sick, which was obviously the case as she went to school next day. 999 times out of 1000 this would indicate a stomach bug or food poisoning from undercooked or dirty food. Since when do you take a 15 year old to a doctor with a suspected stomach bug that is quickly going away? At this point, no one had any suspicion that her ‘friend’ was trying to kill her as that would be an irrational response.

Trans phobia was proven not to be the motive for this crime. According to the court, the police and the poor child's family. People are determined to ignore the facts of this case and even the opinion of the victim's loving parents. It's utterly disgraceful how they're trying to weaponise the murder of this child by claiming it's clear proof of their ideological and political agenda, regardless of the fact it's been proven not to be.
