It would be easy to think Claire just eats the food Aaron has worked hard to prepare. But if you watch other food shows, you know that describing dishes in a way that enables us to imagine the taste is very difficult, and requires a deep knowledge of food. Thanks Claire!

Dough 1st bowl - 6g instant dry yeast - 220ml water - 30ml whole milk - 30g sugar Lightly mix, cover bowl and rest 10mins until bubbles. 2nd bowl - Sift 300g bread flour - 4g salt (Can also add glutinous rice flour) To 1st bowl - 20ml cooking oil - 15g cooled melted butter - Slowly pour the wet ingredients (bowl 1) into the dry ingredients (bowl 2) and mix - Mix for 5 mins - Cover bowl and wait for it to double in size (place in a warmer place)

I made hotteok with my sourdough starter! One of my fillings was kimchi and bacon with cheese. If you want to convert instant yeast to sourdough starter it’s about 100 g of fed starter to 5-7 grams of instant yeast.

I have a hotteok presser at home - even as a foreigner! I love making hotteok‘s and the presser can be used for many other things, such as making your own tacos or naan bread. It‘s actually very convenient :)

These all look great! Each one being so different but equally inviting. I love Claire's enthusiasm, especially when she says You nailed it! I'm way down in Texas and it is really winter here. I wanted to try making hotteok for quite a while and now there's no excuse not to make some. 😄 I am not from Korea and actually where I live, we don't have all the ingredients, which are used in Korean dishes, and because of that it's very hard to cook some traditional korean food. But ever since I found your channel, it changed everything. Thank you for giving me simple ways and alternatives so I can enjoy much or less some Korean dishes. 💜

this is my most favorite street food from korea and what i miss most since Covid prevented us from traveling anywhere. Thank you for showing us how to make them, i tried it over the weekend and it was super easy and so delicious! took me right back to seoul. Aaron and Claire, you're both the best!!!

I just made them for a culture proyect and as we chose South Korea we decided we were doing Dalgona and Hotteok, Today I made them and they taste delicious( my mom just helped me cooking them and keeps calling them "Gorditas dulces coreanas" 💀💀💀 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽). They are stunning, they my new hit. I did changed the recipe just a bit using almond milk and coconut oil instead of butter(because some students are either vegan or lactose intolerant). Overall, everything came out perfectly and I'm actually glad I gave them a try! I'm surely doing them again for some future party or something! (Sorry if I have some grammar or spelling mistakes, as I commented I'm Mexican, therefore English isn't my maternal language)
