Question, when cleaning a wood floor, you go with the grain, correct? My floor they put the grain of the wood crosswise. Meaning when I’m entering the kitchen they have the floor grain running horizontally instead of vertically, and with about 4 feet from stove/counter across from other counter. How do you go with the grain to clean? Clean, actually on knees and go down on all fours and clean by hand, or can it just cleaned in this area against the grain on the hardwood floor section? I usually go on all 4’s and clean along the grain, but getting kinda hard to always go on all 4’s to clean by hand on floor to go with grain.

Can I wash the maker mop cloths and makers clean microfiber cloths together?

just installed luxury vinyl plank flooring and contractor said to use mop n glow to mop it. I did a light coat and to looks spotty and streaky in spots so how can I remove it. Also whats the best way to keep it clean and shinny

What about Engineered Flooring? The only thing I’ve found that is okay to use is an enzymatic cleaner.

I can’t tell how much surface area her mop has contact with the floor? Doesn’t appear to be much. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Where do you get your spray bottles? I heard using a glass bottle is better when using essential oils because it lasts longer.

Can you use vanilla or orange or lemon extract instead of essential oils?

On my wood floors I use baby shampoo & baby oil just a few drops go along way.... and I use Suave coconut shampoo on the rest of my floors

That spray bottle doesn't look like it would hold two cups of water, let alone adding the additional ingredients.

How many mop pads do you use for your entire house?

My luxury vinyl floor manufacturer says I need to use a pH neutral cleaner... I'm assuming with the vinegar and alcohol it is not? Or does the water neutralize it?

Has anyone used this on their laminate flooring? We are getting laminate floors put in our bedroom next week, and I want to try this but I don't want to ruin them!

In another video you said "for engineered hardwood don't use alcohol as hardwood doesn't like alcohol, in this video you put alcohol in the DYI solution for hardwood. Is alcohol in or out for engineered hardwood.

Some idea for cleaners of marble floors ?

Go over it a few times with a warm damp mop. Rinse the mop out in between each pass. There’s too much soap in that recipe. You only need two tiny drops of dish soap for that much water. I would stick to just water and soap for that recipe.

For wood floors, use a TINY BIT of an oil soap, like Dr. Bronners, or Murphys in warm water. I do mean TINY! Tiny means a few drops to 1/4 teaspoon, 1/2 or 1 teaspoon, depending on the amount of water in your bucket. And DRY IMMEDIATELY AFTER WITH A SOFT TOWEL OR RAG... DO NOT USE ALCOHOL OR VINEGAR ON WOOD FLOORS, or wood surfaces. Rarely, if absolutely necessary, you can use a vinegar combo, but we're talking a stain, or wax buildup; and maybe only one or two times in the life of the wood floor.

I don’t get the Makers mop. How is it useful to clean a floor with such a small surface? Yes there are 2 sides but like I said, I don’t get it🤷‍♀️

Don’t waste your money. I bought one, I was not happy with the mop. I asked for a refund but never got a reply.

Using vinegar and water as a homemade wood floor cleaning solution can have a negative effect on your wood floor. It's important to remember that when you clean your wood floors, you aren't actually cleaning the wood you're cleaning the chemical finish that's on the wood. The finish is the protective layer of your wood floors. Since vinegar is an acid, it will actually break down the finish on the surface of your floor, and over time it will reduce the shine, and leave a dull appearance. Using vinegar and water to clean floors can also lead to an excessive amount of water on the floor, which can cause swelling and discoloration.

You should NOT be using vinegar on sealed hardwood floors nor unsealed grout. Vinegar dissovles both.

I bought that mop and it was very disappointing. I think it was over $50 the mechanism doesn’t work to hold it into position or to alternate to have a pivot. The so called holders didn’t work very well to hold a cloth for dusting high places or removing cob webs. The Velcro is weak for holding the mop pad in place. I wrote to them, I wanted a refund, I never got a reply. She might have some good cleaning tips but I won’t buy anything from her again!

So I just want to make sure I get it right because the order Melissa said they were shown in and the titles cards don’t match. Is that first one with the rubbing alcohol for wood floors or is that the general purpose one?

You should NOT use alcohol on hardwood floors or wood furniture, any kind of wood surface, so I think the last recipe is for hardwood.
