Thanks for information. I filed for Divorce just before COVID-19. After 42 years of marriage. I am 63 and my Adult children are siding with my husband. I am trying to understand retirement ,IRA and 401k and confuse as my husband is the owner of Corp. so it’s kind of worrisome. Thanks for what you wonderful things doing.

Hi Margaret I just went through that divorce deadline situation, I had a deadline to come back into court and ask for more help from my husband and I missed the deadline which voided at the divorce contract. I'm awaiting now to see what was changed in my divorce as we were just recently back in court after 6 years. Ladies please take this advice that Margaret has provided for us I wish I could have saw this video before I missed the deadline by a year it cost me a lot of money.

If you did not get alimony for life, that is because. You were not entitled to it under the law.

I can’t get a divorce.. I’m stuck. The service of process form that was filled out by my process server was not stamped “ filed/endorsed “. I sent it back to get it stamped and it got sent back to me with out being stamped. I paid the filing fee to start the case, but I can’t get any where.

Will I be able to collect survivors benefits on my ex husband? I remarried after but that marriage ended in divorce as well. Currently I'm single and have 2 years before reaching 60.

To collect on your first husband u needed to remain single until age 60 (they don’t make it easy for women) since u remarried if you stayed married for 9 months you can collect on your 2nd ex husband not your first.

To close a joint account, most banks, etc., require both signatures. How do you deal with that?

I don't know who you bank with, but here in Ca, whoever is on the account can withdraw all the money by themselves without your permission. I have never heard of requiring 2 signatures to close an account. Banks won't even open up accounts that require 2 signatures for withdrawals anymore.

She probably gets to keep everything in the husband gets no alami.. Divorce courts are so screwed in favor of women that if a woman walks out with less than everything she probably had a bad lawyer.

In the UK, she may have to support the ex-husband and will definitely have to share her pension, savings and assets with him. I was the higher earner during my marriage but, luckily for me financially, my ex had an affair and left me for the other woman and moved into her home and has very few expenses. Therefore, I don't have to support him. He thought I would have to because he was a mature student at the time of our divorce, but he ruined his case by moving in with his OW. He recently married her, and I'm sure he won't be making that mistake again in his next divorce.

What this woman is talking about is property separation not divorce. Divorce process legally ends the marriage and you can legally re marry.

There are two parts to divorce - the end of the marriage and the financial agreement.
