3 Disturbing Vanlife Stealth Camping Stories Vol. 2 | Rain & Haunting Ambience

Ойын-сауық

This is volume two of Stealth Camping Horror stories.
In this video i'll be telling you 3 different disturbing and weird stories about people stealth camping around the country. Hiding in plain sight isn't always the best idea and you'll know why after listening to these stories.
What is stealth camping?
Stealth camping is the act of parking your camper van or motorhome in any area without paying for a parking spot, ranging everywhere from residential streets to the middle of the countryside. It's sometimes referred to as boondocking, free camping or wild camping, but it's all the same thing.
These stories are meant to relax and unsettle you.

My stepdad got stationed at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. We were there for a little over a year when our time on the military housing waiting list came to an end. We were given one of the duplex homes on the pearl city peninsula. This area is mainly military housing and military buildings and stuff. I had just turned 18 at the time and would stay up late playing video games and talking on the phone with friends. Periodically I would hear kids playing outside in the wee hours of the night. I never really gave it much thought, other than thinking these kids must be playing hide and seek or something. It was summer and kids were out of school already. Being in hawaii and part of a military family, we heard our fair share of the stories of what happened and the tradegies of war. Many families were lost and apparently, with pearl city peninsula being so close to some of the ships that were harbored. Some homes got hit with bombs and many families lost their lives in the attack. Its said that as you enter the peninsula, there is metal shacks/barns that housed some of the bodies as they waited to be transported to coroners offices or morgues. Because of this there were also stories of strange things happening in and around the area. Things like swings swinging at the park on days with little to no breeze, doors opening and closing on their own, car alarms being set off with nothing touching it while people are conversating a few feet away and some people experiencing feeling their home shake and things falling off walls and tables but, the other residents in the other unit didn't feel anything. I smoke cigarettes so I always had my window open. Weather was nice everyday so, i didnt have to worry about it getting too hot or cold. On this particular night, i remember it like it happened yesterday. I was on the phone talking to my girlfriend and playing kingdom hearts when i first heard the kids playing outside. I remember telling my girlfriend that i could here kids playing. I could hear screaming and laughing, like kids chasing eachother around and screaming when the chaser is getting close. There was a field behind my duplex and in the field there was a gated off section with a drain or something for times theres excessive rain. The kids i heard sounded like they could've been playing inside that gated section. I assume it was gated off for safety measures and thats why i initially stuck my head out of the window to look and see if i could see them. I sometimes stepped out onto the roof right outside my window to smoke some reefer so, my screen was always off. I then remember telling my girlfriend, who at present day is my wife and mother of my children, that i dont see the kids but i still hear them and i hope they didnt hop the fence to play inside that area. She told me to relax since i hadnt seen them and just listen for scared screams or panic sounds. So i decided to pause my game and just listen a bit. I grabbed my cigarettes and lighter and proceeded to pull a cigarette out and put it on my lip. As i light the lighter, i hear a child whisper "smoking is bad". It sounded like the child was standing on my roof, right outside my window looking in at me. I completely froze with my lighter lit but a couple of inches from the tip of my cigarette. I finally came to when i realized my girlfriend was repeating my name to get my attention. I dont know how long i was froze but i do know that i practically burned my thumb because the lighter was still hot when i tried to light my cigarette after. I also remember looking at my clock and it read 3:13. I then got completely spooked as my mind rushed to the stories of "the witching/devils hour" of 3am to 4am. I didnt sleep that night. It was after this that i got more interested in the history of what happened. This is when i was told about the shacks at the entrance, which still stand to this day, and the families that were lost on the land we walked on daily. It gave me a deeper respect to the event we call the pearl harbor bombing. Also a deeper appreciation and gratitude for the freedoms i enjoy. Theres a reason they dont tell you everything.

That’s because I watch Laurence from Lost in the Pond and he showed on the map that people on the Western half of the US call them Kai-oats and people on the Eastern half call them Kai-oatees. Cayotes. I am from the Pacific Northwest and my husband is from Los Angeles and both of us have only ever called them Kai-oats. 😂

lol drive up on someone else’s property in the middle of the night, criticize everything they’re doing then act like you’re the victim. Pure zoomer energy with that one. As an east Tennessean with lots of family out in the country it is absolutely hilarious this anxiety ridden kid thinks an old lady feeding a ton of animals is a bizarre terrifying sight. Nothing about this story was out of the ordinary in rural TN except the narrator.

To everyone who is criticizing the first story, not everything scary ends in bloodshed. Raccoons don't have to be rabid to be dangerous, old women living alone are more likely crazy and willing to fill you full of buckshot. When your only defense is a thin layer of nylon and shits breaking out all over. It's scary. Maybe not to a bystander, but to that guy, and most people, they would shit the hammock.
