😀 A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.
So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.
Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

A six month insurance policy is common. If you can make one month payment, and cancel the policy at the end of the month, bingo! I hope the remainder of your plans come together. I love the quote, "all things will work out in the end..... Safe travels to you :-)

I think that is good to overemphasis that despite Mexivo being a developing country, how many things are easier and cheaper to do than in the USA. Also a quick Fun Fact: Kitchen is pronunced co-see-na. Cochina literally means either dirty or female pig. ¡Gracias por visitar México¡ ¡Buen viaje! Hope to see you here again.

I understand that Ricardo is a good mechanic and I am happy he was able to help you I am just absolutely intrigued that you couldn’t find a mechanic in the US to repair that door similar to the ones that couldn’t do your oil change. Any mechanic and I mean any with so called qualifications should have been able to replace an oil filter and repair that door. Basic mechanical knowledge wishing you many happy miles ahead. Thank you for sharing your travels

Since you enjoyed the beach with the wildlife, I might suggest if you get back to California at some future time, you head up north, especially around November-January. You will be treated to the amazing gathering of monarch butterflies in the Pacific Grove/Monterey area, along with the possibility of seeing otters (particularly around the aquarium, or inside the aquarium, seals, and various sea birds. Heading south to San Simeon (home of Hearst Castle) or north to Año Nuevo State Park will give you the extraordinary opportunity of see masses of elephant seals. This is also a remarkably beautiful area, with the famous Big Sur coast in between San Simeon and Monterey. You will certainly not be disappointed.

Welcome to the USA. I’ve lived and worked all over the world and have been in the USA for the past 20 years. The incompetence is off the charts. It’s a complete race to the bottom here. But if you live in Northern Arizona, SW Colorado Wyoming or Montana it might be worth it.

Another well done video! Sorry for the hazzel you are having with the shipping I feel for you guys. You keep referring to all of the red tape you are having to deal with but isn't it possible that you just chose a bad shipping company? Because when you said that when shipping from the US you have to remove all personal items from the vehicle this isn't a Federal Government Regulation it is a shipping company requirement. Putting stuff in your car or not when it is being shipped has little to do with legality. It has to do with the rules of your shipping company about what items can be in the car not the government.

Europe is far more expensive. Don't judge the entire United States by New York City and California. Most of the United States food is reasonable to even cheap, especially if you go to a farmers market. Housing cost more in Europe, the gasoline is twice the price. Taxes are high.

The reason they don’t stress Immigration policy and Passports at the US Border, is that Mexico only takes Immigration Seriously beyond the Zona Fronteriza. (Frontier Zone)! Along this Zone, they do however take Customs duties much more seriously!

Hi Andrea - Chris can drive, but I love to drive and I don't want to do the filming, editing and cooking !! So we do the jobs that we want to do and that works for us 👍🌷
