😀 A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.
So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.
Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Iyi yolculuklar!
Well, that was an ordeal and a half! Glad you finally made it. Now I hope you will find everything in one piece back in Japan! In the meantime, enjoy Turkey and your family!
The seven lane freeway brought back memories of heading straight to car pickup after an 11 hr flight from London - there are no slow lanes and it was my husband’s first time driving the opposite side of road. Anyway as ever you’re both so calm and polite despite the barriers you face xxxx
Oh my gosh..this was so stressful. Glad everything went smoothly in the end
Port Hueneme (yes, you pronounced it correctly)-my home town. I moved away about age 13. My father was a longshoreman and worked Hueneme and Long Beach. I enjoy your vlog VERY much!

I found myself making a sigh of relief when you got to the hotel. Safe trip.
A beautiful adventure. I wish you success in Japan and the whole world
Woo hooo at last💕💕
Amazing couple.....you inspired me a lot, to be cool in every situation.
I bought the most beautifully made sombrero from a gentleman walking through the lanes of cars, while was in the border crossing queue.
Phew. Well, that was exhausting. Hope you remembered to turn the heater off 😊
Lucky as always , 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 incredible, amazing and awesome ❤❤❤❤
Have a safe trip to Japan, you are finally getting there with Trudy already being shipped…finally, finally!!😊😊😊

Welp, surely Ben & Chesca would say at least you made it across the border without dealing with local police! Those one way roads look mental! You deffo want your pallet to Tetris - to have it Jenga would be really bad! 😬😬🤣 What an absolute blast that was hanging out with you!! 🤩🤩 So glad to be part of your weekend off to decompress before the last burst of craziness. 🤗❤️❤️😎👍xx

Whew! In the very nick of time. Hope you enjoy Japan. I saw Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto in a whirlwind 10 day tour when I was in high school years ago. I know it has changed a lot since then. Safe travels and I commend your pronunciation of the Chumash Native American name of Port Hueneme. We once lived in Southern California and we are familiar with that region.
So pleased you guys made it and I look forward to the next adventure.
Oh my gosh, did they make it? what a relief phew. Showing the challenges make videos more watchable and relatable. We all go through challenges on a weekly or monthly basis; it a part of life. This past week, I've had two project deadlines to meet, the electricity out for 12 hours (no internet) and dealing with fraudulent credit card charges. It's also enjoyable to watch familiar sites in southern California, where I am from.

I’m glad things went « smoothly » up to now. It’s PERFECT to end thus chapter with your friends !!!! 💖💖
In college, we would either park in SD and walk across to TJ or sometimes drive to Rosarito 30 minutes south to get lobster, so I fondly remember driving back into the U.S. Or sitting on the beach in Rosarito drinking cervezas. Didn't always go smooth but it depended on who went with us. Have been watching since about the time you shipped out of Korea to Malaysia and you both must have the patience of saints. I am learning how to be much more patient and speak up when I need to from you. I would be a nervous wreck. Vanlife seems so relaxing but I appreciate the brutal reality of all the nitty gritty. I have the feeling these shipping services were impacted by the pandemic too and they don't ship vans very often, mostly just inside containers. Now I am going back and watching a few of your videos crossing US/Canada. Stay safe and looking forward to seeing your travels back towards home. Cheers.

Glad everything worked out! Was it the lithium battery aspect of the Jackery? Do they allow the lithium house (leisure) batteries to stay in the van while on the ship?

Yep - that is it exactly 👍
A jackery being dangerous goods, but a camper van with multiple batteries isn't? xD Some rules make no sense except for extorting money out of people..

Slower, older, smarter!
I was called upon to do Jury Duty last week It was a sad murder case A husband had beat his wife and daughter to death with a shovel A voice at the back of the court started to shout all sorts of obscenities at the defendant. The judge said to the man ' if you do not quiet down I will have you removed from the court' The man said I apologies your Honour But I lived next door to this guy for 15years But when I asked to borrow a shovel he always denied he owned one

@@peri3818 Sorry but when was the last time someone was shot with a shovel ? Unless of course you are in favour of banning shovels just in case. It was a joke.
