I first heard Steve Gadd playing RLRK at very high speed in his first video, but the double Rob puts in makes it more "playable". Rob doesn't play it super fast, but his touch and precision let this lick really burn. Simple things on a high level, that is what we all need. Thanks again, Rob.👍👋

Rob, 1st off i love your videos. Connecting with people over the world is very inspirational, especially sharing an artform that everyone is able to expand upon is groundbreaking. Been playing for 25 years and designed new ways to gain independency of heels and toes. It was super frustrating at first but really opened up new worlds to me and became lotta fun and rewarding. I'm currently kit-less and have been for almost a decade, due to my gear getting stolen. No kit for all this time I began creating circular-tap exercises (R toe R heel L heel L toe) clockwise or (L toe L heel R heel R toe) counter clockwise. Holding those circles through beats and different divisions and patterns. Opened up new ways to approach new rhythmic flow. Jim Chapin books assisted new fascinations with independency of not just limbs but parts of those limbs as well. Just started following you on IG recently. Thanks for sharing your gifts with us all and glad to be subscribed ~one♡~

@Rob Brown, The difference is playing either matched grip or traditional grip, most drummers use matched grip. Some drummers find it hard to use the traditional grip on a kit, initially, with moving around the toms. Oddly enough, what are the hi-hat's in this video?, I have Paiste 13" Sound-Edge ones at the moment, they're starting to sound dated. Glad you still have that Ride though, it sounds really good.

Drummers: listen to Rob! These lessons used to cost me a night's gig money every week in San Diego in the 80's. But you must put the time in and practice correctly- just the way Rob teaches. Thanks Rob my brother, got my head phones on, got the Gretsch tuned up using your methods and I am drumming better than back in the heavy gig days!

The only thing you need to know from the last video is pick up the stick after each double stroke. Personally I just generally just learn from Thomas Lang and would go with his method personally. The Long roll with perfected accents. Those accents eventually become less noticeable and important at higher speeds
