"You should always be ready for some pad work" I couldn't agree more.
“Trying to get out of a traffic ticket!” OMG I love it!! 🤣🤣
I have never been so grateful for KZread's half-speed feature. The quarter speed comes in handy when Rob decides to impress the kids in the back.
Rob words cannot express the life that you are breathing into my drumming. I have been in such a rut for so long that I did not think I would ever pick up the sticks again...then one day I saw one of your drumming video and I was like who is THIS? I watched the video and about 7 more after that! You were quiet, calm, talented and patient. You taught us the exercises and beats and did so slow enough that we could play along with you. If you knew an exercise might be particularly difficult, you told us that it would take time to learn ; to not expect instant results. I'm using my old Regal Tip 5As - I can't get new ones anymore. I went out and bought a 10" pad that I freaking love again thanks to you. I copied the picture of the "fist" that you use as a logo and put it on the front of a 3-ring notebook that I put the exercises and beats into it. I am a 68 year old female drummer and I am back into drumming thanks to you. Sorry I got so sappy, but I watch you every day and work at the lessons and I only wrote one short comment. I owed you a long one!

That’s a super encouraging comment, man. Thanks! Glad the videos are helping you out! 👊🏽🙂
Thanks! I'm a beginner (at 50!), and I'm trying these out. Slower, generally! Feels good.

As always, great lesson Rob brown . I recommend your channel to all my students for supplemental work outside of our lessons. You are not only a talented drummer, but a truly gifted educator as well. You have away of making each lesson simplistic and fun for the student, both young and old. I have stolen from your lessons more than once to get points across to my students. Keep up the amazing work that you do.
Great exercise.Been playing & wood shedding for over 60 years & found this quite helpful in improving my stick control. Thank you Ron & keep 'em coming.
I love your videos man A lot of it is stuff I thought I knew how to do, but you always get me thinking about how I can improve my techniques and control.
I been working on this a few days now at 50 BPM while really watching my technique and snapping the accent loud while keeping the taps as quiet as i can. This has already improved my control immensely! Every should really pay attention to this video, thank you so much!!
I really like your videos. Your teaching style is motivating and inspiring. I’m tired of those videos of those guys that are “over the top”. Yours are chill and informative. Appreciate what you do and taking the time to make these videos and posting them.
I love this exercise! Thanks for sharing!
I followed your advice and set up a practice pad right where I watch tv. As a result, I find myself working on very helpful pad exercises a lot, and it has helped my playing a great deal. Thanks!
Thanks fam really enjoyed this. Just starting out. Just picked up my practice pad and sticks and this video was inspiration to do it. It's a tricky but it is coming along. Thank for sharing so many gems for new drumers
Another great lesson Rob thank you! Has changed my approach to how valuable and useful the 5 stroke roll can be! Great to see the Drumeo top, cannot wait to see what you’re gonna come up with over there too - your pocket stream was awesome
That IS a great exercise. Thanks a lot Rob!
I needed to hear this opening. Thank you Mr. Brown.
Loving your videos! Cheers!
Thanks for all you do for the drumming community. I see your sporting a Drumeo sweatshirt. I wear my Beatdown hoodie all the time !
Rob. You are the best. I have learned so much from your videos. My playing has improved dramatically.
Thanks so much, Rob. I am a new drummer and love all your videos. It is so easy to follow your lessons. My hubby got me my drum kit for my 68th birthday in September. I have always wanted to play the drums. Learned how to play 10 beginner drum beats back in Sept. from your video and continue to follow various lessons. Keep it up! Much appreciated!!
These vids always help. Bless up dude!
“Let me just speed it up so i can impress the kids in the back” calm down uncle rob dont get ahead of yourself now😂🤣

Great workout. Thanks Rob!
Hey Rob, so stoked I found your channel in 2020. Still working on "the only 3 rudiments you need" but loving every new exercise. Smoke coming off my (oldskool GREY) Evans pad. 😉
Wow ! TY for helping me set out onto the second 5-stroke pattern!! It opens me up to possibilities never worked on before! Thanks again 🙏
Excellent! Thanks for sharing this.
Ya make me feel good about myself when I pick these up right away. I really like this exercise!! Thanks!
Preciate cha again brother for sharing this always!
Excellent listen. Crisp, clear execution and explanation!
I just ordered my Red Barny Beats pad combo yesterday. I've been drumming 30 years, but this is my first practice pad, believe it or not. Looking forward to using it to my advantage.
top man beat down brown you have helped me improve so much.. many thanks
46. Getting back into drumming after a 20 year break. These exercises are exactly what I need to get my hands back. Thank you for posting!
Thank you Rob! Amazing as always!
Absolutely love all your videos rob!
Great work, Rob! I love your videos!
Love it... will need to work up to 110bpm but I’ll get there. And I’m digging the hoodie.... glad I finally caught you on drumeo live.
Excellent!!
Love it! thank you!!!
Nice pad work, Bro. Happy New Year!.,,
Perfect video. Thank you so much 👍😃
Great exercise Rob. Thank you
I love this lesson and I devour the content. Much appreciated.
I slowed it down to follow, did it so much my wrist was aching Thanks Rob for an awesome pad workout!
Stay safe Rob!!!
Thanks for this workout! I dig it!,
I am not an educated drummer and |I didn't even know what triplet was until i watched this. Amazingly, I've been playing triplets for years without knowing. Now I'm gonna get into this exercise and expand my knowledge and control. I'm 73, with a bit of arthritis in the hands and a couple of strokes behind me. (They should make drumming a therapy for stroke recovery). Another great educational video from Rob Brown. and free too. Amazing! Thanks a bunch Rob.
Definitely going to do this.
Thats the stuff i need !! Yeihh!! Diggin your stuff!! Thanks Rob!!
Excellent lesson - thanks, Rob...
Thanks for another killer exercise Rob!
Great exercise Rob! Would you please consider doing a Part 2 where you take this exact same thing and talk about how to work it on the kit? You could also talk about translating snare exercises to the kit in general, but this one would be a perfect example. Thanks too for including the end part for more advanced players. If you do a Part 2 video, can you please include a part for more advanced players there too! Love the channel! (And my new joggers!)
Another great drill to see us through COVID!! Thanks Rob, you’ve been a God send during this strange time!!
Hey man! I am not begginer I think but I am below being a Mid Good Drummer hehe! But hey I am 33 yeards old trying to come back to drums and this channel and your exercises, vibes, etc make me feel really good about trying to develop and learn more drumming. Thanks !! Good material!
Great exercises Rob! Thanks!
I've only been working this exercise for a couple of days and I'm already seeing improvement.
Well done Rob
Thank You, Rob ! One more of Your great videos. Greetings from Germany.
Super cool! I'm gonna buy the pad now.
Im going to try this out been working on my technique lately 🥁🙌🏻✨
Rob your videos are so cool can't wait to try this one
Man you're such an inspiration, though I'm an artist and just drawing. But really I enjoy your videos. Many thanks!
Thanks🎉
Great video dude
Hey Rob! I used to pick your brain a lot at L&M 'shwa years ago. I still have the TRICK snare drum you would never buy from me. 110% glad it never left my hands now - thanks for that!
Nice exercise as Always Rob. The 2nd version ala (inside doubles, as you played it is at the 32nd note rate), which works very well, too!!! “Speed is not what’s important here.” Salient !!! Thanks for all you do, man!!!
Excellent 😊
I’ve quarantined right 🙌🏻 thanks to this channel my hands and technique are the sharpest they’ve ever been 🥁
This feels already great after an hour. Great exercise for improving my Moeller's as well. Thank you very much!
At 61 I realized I had spent my time imitating songs and not really learning to play properly. Because of your videos I have spent more hours on a practice pad since September, than I had in the previous eons I spent 'playing' drums. I see enough improvement / change to keep going, and I actually look forward to doing it. For me it's the chill feel of your presentation, makes me want to listen and practice.

Never thought I would say thank you to a beat-down....Thanks man great exercise....Appreciate you✌🏽
Who needs a metronome when we have Rob "Beatdown" Brown cranking out the beats! Great stuff, Rob! Thanks!
Wow 🔥🥁
I love your content!!! 🤩 Rob Brown the legend!!!!
The inverted 32nds variation on the 5 stroke roll is a cool idea!
Shout out here in TO . ,,, your channel RAWKS !!!! talking to a lot of future young drummers and they made a good point. All agreed ur a great teacher,,, NO DOUBT. *They did say ,,, ROB says it’s not about speed, yet they just see the fast BPM’s more advanced. Hope for future vids, MAYBE QUICKLY for a Bar or Two show newer drummers, The exercise at say 60-70 BPM, so they can work up the speed,,,, A lot of younger drummers said that would be HUGE help. No disrespect meant,,, always trying to help a local brother out, during these times to grow your brand. Thx for listening bro. You and the Mrs stay safe during this craziness.
Excellent, with written sheets!
Good! Thanks for this. You are the great drummer.

Great exercise.
"Trying to get out of a traffic ticket"......love it.
Definitely going to give this a go!
Love what you do and what I’ve achieved by checking you out cuz! Much appreciated
This simple exercise can be turned into an entire world of crazy exercises! You can move around the accents. You can add flams. You can play as singles. Great exercise! (you just brought up flamming in the video as I am typing this actually. lol)
Yet another excellent lesson,I had to take tempo down to 54bpm and work with my dodgy left, and work slowly from there up👍
nice stuff
Hey Rob!!! Firs of all ... How are you doing man 👊😊 I'm Luis from Santiago of Chile 🇨🇱 and I want to say you thanks very much for share these information with us ... I'm beginner in this , and I follow all your clases and tips too ... again thanks very much
