Rob, thank you for all you do, greatly appreciate your channel. One thing I always notice is that you put a great deal of thought into your practice routines. Well done. I am curious as to the genesis of this exercise. Was it something taught to you or did you create it for your students? Also the book Finger Control by Roy Burns and Lewis Malin breaks down the wrist stroke. The title is deceiving as most of the text involves the wrist along with pictures of the appropriate grip and playing position. Did that text have an impact as to how you developed this routine?

Wow I was just working on my singles and got them to 160bpm. Accenting my left hand at the speed was definitely slowing me down. I'm good at at about 130/140bpm. I will definitely be working harder on those accented lefts.

I started playing drums as a teenager in the 80's. I took lessons from a really good drummer but I was either a poor student (I was) or he wasn't a great TEACHER. He would show me things and expect me to be able to just do them, he wouldn't take time to explain why it mattered. I eventually got bored and quit as life got busy. Now it's 30 years later, and I'm back. I'm determined to do it the right way this time. Your videos are amazing to me, you break everything down just perfect. With your instruction, A LOT of practice, and some patience i know I'm going to become the drummer I always wanted to be. Thank you.

Just curious at time marker 426 demonstrating the very first exercise where you are accenting on the very first 16th note of each group of sixteenth notes... why was it not the leadoff exercise of the six... let alone not included at all ? Just curious being that I would think being the most basic and fundamental it would be included and a solid base to start from ?
