@@BratatoChip Hes the same size, runs faster, has a better 3 cone drill time, and is already a great route runner. He just needs to be better at tracking the deep ball and body control. Tony toe taps (AB) excelled in those traits but it took him a couple of years to get there. Other than those two traits, he reminds me a lot of AB. He played 70% of his snaps at wide and is able to play in the slot. The steelers used AB the same way. He also has a 53% contested catch rate (elite)

This is by far the best comparison in these comments. Thank you for seeing past his skin color. As someone said, he isn't AB and I don't think you're dumb enough to believe he'll be all time great on day one. But you nailed the "type" for sure. Ladd has an incredibly similar play style to AB. Crisp routes. Not a burner, but enough speed to break plays open, great vision and agility as a runner in the open field, and natural feel for the position and he knows how to get open. Let's hope he has AB's work ethic, and competitive drive... let's also hope he doesn't have AB's mental illness issues...

Personally, I don’t see Welker or Edelman. To me, he runs routes like Keenan did-just the most make subtle body dips and sharp movement with his hips allowing hit to make beautiful cuts. I feel like Edelman always made short, hard cuts and wasn’t really ever a deep threat. McConkey makes REALLY subtle cuts that confuse defenders and creates enough separation. He also makes very secure catches with the body, in tight windows…and it works. I don’t think Keenan was ever a speedster like McConkey though-the deep threat he brings is VERY surprising given his size-but I also think that’s something Edelman, Welker, nor Keenan could do. BUT these are just college highlights and I might be reaching because I love him as one our top receivers and be hasn’t even stepped on the field. Oh, I’m also unsure who to compare his YAC to, currently. I hope this isn’t take as an attack! Just what I feel I see and everyone can end up having different opinions! I imagine we all hope he grows into being his own receiver…and a dominant one at that! Bolt of friends and family! ⚡️

@@kevinuchiha6830 the fact that you think QJ is 1 and Palmer is 2 says a lot... and you believe they're BOTH above Ladd... Ladd is the immediate 1, Palmer 2, and QJ will be the 3rd option as a big slot/gadget player. I actually think QJ has decent potential if he plays a similar role that Cordarrelle Patterson played with the Patriots. Line him up in the slot/back field and try to get him the ball in space so he can maximize his running ability in the open field. Edit: ALSO, QJ is actually built to play returner in the new kickoff rules. I'd at least throw him back there in preseason to see how he does.

@maskedman5657 lmao nice try. I did deep dives into 200 draft prospects for my job this year. 🙂 Getting back to the topic at hand: Ladd played 2 full seasons as a freshman and Junior. The only game he left early was the '22 SEC championship with tendinitis, and he only left that game after it was well in hand, and they wanted to save him for the playoffs. He played through turf toe that whole season, which, I know you arent aware, but that shit is a bitch and a half to play through, and he didn't miss any significant time. Last season, he missed 4 games to a lumbar strain, and 1 game to an ankle sprain, which he played through the rest of the season with. None of those are injuries with long term repercussions, and none required invasive surgery. To add to it, he played his whole sophomore year through significant pain with the turf toe, and posted a fantastic season. Guess what. It's football. People get hurt. By week 2 there isn't a single player in the NFL playing at 100%. He doesn't have any record of major surgeries and he played in a total of 39 out of 44 games, only missing time when it wasn't worth risking further injury. His record is very clean compared to a lot of other guys in this draft... Ricky Pearsall went like 7 picks earlier... go look up his injury record.
