The SMKT3-345 is an excellent smoke detector made by 2GIG specifically for the 2GIG Go!Control security system. The 5808W3, Honeywell's competing version of it is as nice and works for the 2GIG systems, but we have found occasionally has supervision problems with this system. So for those looking to use the 2GIG Go!Control, we generally recommend using the sensors that are originally designed for the unit. In this video, Sterling gives homeowners a run-thru on how exactly to program the SMKT3-345.

Does the 24 hour auxiliary Alarm sound the same as the intrusion/Burglary alarm siren sound?

In the video while programming the freeze dialer delay, you say you don't want a delay then select (1) enabled. Shouldn't the delay be disabled, or is the programming interface simply counterintuitive? Great video!

Please help. I programmed my system as 2GIG Smoke detector, equipment code 1058, but it would only "learn" the RF Serial Number the first time when I programmed loop 1. I turned the base on and off like indicated in the video but it did not "learn" for the 2nd and 3rd zone for loop 2 and loop 3 although it didn't give me any errors when I programmed or rebooted the system after programming. Is everything OK? Thanks.

Frank Longo Thanks. I did manually enroll, I just have not completed the system test yet. Thanks for your input.

I don't have this panel, because my father would like the beep that goes off to be muted.

do you have to have a 2gig panel to use this smoke alarm or can you hardwire it into your previous smoke alarms?

This type of smoke alarm operates off of batteries and will provide local sounding but it is typically the type you use with an alarm panel.

Can you do a tutorial on how to program a Honeywell 5817CB-3-Zone-Wireless-Commercial-Fire-Burg-Transmitter to it?

2GIG doesn't list an equipment code for the 5817CB for either the 2GIG GC2/GC2e, or GC3/GC3e. It's also not listed in any of their compatibility documents. Given that information, I'm not sure I'd use the 5817CB with the 2GIG GC2.

Does the smkt3 also have only one time usage like the Honeywell?

Honeywell smoke detectors aren't one-time use. Who told you that? They may be confused with the fact that most mechanical heat detectors (used in wireless smoke/heat detectors for the Fixed Heat detector portion of the sensor) are one-time use devices. I've never heard of a one time use smoke detector though.

No, I'm sorry, the only Honeywell/Resideo panel that currently supports the 2GIG 345 MHz sensors is the Lyric Controller. The Lyric should be on the latest version of Firmware (currently MR9).
