I don't get the hate on Maister. When I was learning Smash some years ago, the best tip I received was "cover the most approaching options". That's just what Maister does but a ton more because his character is literally paper thin, he can't afford an exchange of blows so he needs to mantain his opponent just in range of his attacks. Yes, UpB out of shield is kinda busted and Judge is RNG dependant, but one can see the effort on Maister's GnW. He's one of the most parry-heavy players and tends to fight big name players too, he needs to know his MU just to not die early to a nicely done combo. Just give him a break, he knows and loves his character and he gives more diversity to top spots on tournaments.

Judge isn't even an argument because it's almost never worth going for. I main Mr. Down and Smash myself and I get as many 1s as possible, approximately 90% of the damage I receive is from my own judge

the entire time I'm just waiting to see Samsora's face when he loses the set to GnW and y'all block it with the final saga announce trailer.. at least wait until the match is done to post that!

Wait has Samsora really never taken a game off of Maister with his Peach?

Rairudo Kohai It can look like that, but watching less skilled G&W players who actually mash and stuff reveals how far ahead Maister is. The mashers are really predictable and usually end up losing the sets because they aren’t hard to figure out.

Maister kicked pretty much everyone's ass (Samsora, Light, Wadi, Shogun, Kameme) at Kongo. Only Tweek and Mkleo left. Go Maister!

This is why ultimate is the best smash ever. So much character variety at high level. You don't see this shit on melee.

Game and watch has weaknesses he’s just really really good at low level to mid level play. And extremely obnoxious to play against, of course that would always be opinion based and I’m not saying he doesn’t take skill to play just a lot less skill due to his advantages.
