This tourney was not the best for Nairo :( his sets with sam are always so good but this one wasn’t even really close. I think they’ve been playing so much in friendlies that Sam has his number currently.

Palu is a solid character but her gameplan is really one dimensional and after seeing it for while some of her options get predictable and easier to react to. As the meta continues to evolve and people learn the match up better i don't think Palu will be as threatening as everyone sees her now to be.

He just got outplayed imo. Palu gets a lot worse when your opponent parries falling aerials, and this tourney had a ridiculous losers side. He'll definitely do better in the future but he needs to make a change.

@Jae Seung Kim Well they weren't the better players on game day if theyre in losers bracket lmao. Nonetheless it was stacked and having Zackray vs Light before top 16 and nairo vs sam before top 8 goes to show how tough the competition was.

Do you know what character's you're comparing here? Like seriously, do you? Peach is the embodiment of spamming aerials. If you watch this set, you can clearly see Samsora spamming aerials out of short hop float CONSTANTLY. While yes, Short hop float into an aerial at that speed that Samsora does is hard at first, after just a little bit of practice, it isn't that bad at all. I BARELY ever touch Peach/Daisy and I can do it pretty consistently. Palu's aerials are really good, what's wrong with using them? In fact, I would argue that the majority of Ultimate's top tiers rely on their aerials more than any other moves. But I mean, in this set, you can see Nairo using every move of his kit consistently compared to Samsora. Peach relies on her aerials to do 90% of her stuff. Her other options are Turnips, Down tilt (which is a combo into her aerials), and sometimes dash attack for a quick burst. Palu is much more versatile and you can see that in this set alone, Nairo constantly mixes it up with Side B, Neutral B, down tilt at ledge, dash attack, and even throws out a counter. Nairo used to just simply spam Aerials, but used to lose a shit ton, he's integrated her tilts and other specials into his play and he has improved a ton as a result. Spamming aerials can only get you so far. I know you said you play Palu casually and that's the thing, casually. We're watching a pro match here, against other casual players, yes, Palu is infamous for her nair, mostly because people don't understand how to work around it. Casuals usually can't even work around PK Fire, so how are they gonna deal with a top tiers best aerial (Which is arguable in itself, I personally would say Palu's Back air is her best aerial)? I really hope that I don't come off as a fanboy or anything, I like watching the characters at their best more than anything else, I don't root for players, I root for the character I'm watching. And Peach is by far my least favorite character to watch because she has the exact same gameplan every match, spam aerials into a small combo that does way too much damage. Palu isn't exactly the most exciting either, but at least she has other a ton of other viable moves which Nairo consistently shows in his sets. Again, Peach just does the same stuff and rarely uses other moves when in comparison to Palu.
