Having fun watching your videos and hopefully learning in the same way people learn a second language through immersion. Full time RV senior here... with (2) 200 AH MGA batteries hoping to upgrade to lifepo at some point soon... and studying what's involved on youtube university. Thanks for the fun lessons!

I'm so happy the grade B cells are getting some love! The battery is garbage but when $50 matters, it's at least a good quality build. Thanks for the teardown.

That would be something for a UPS system. Just lot capacity, not many cycles, size and vibration quality doesn't matter. Build to leads and hookup any regular old UPS and have massive more reserve for the price of a lead battery. Most UPS do like 2-3 cycles a year.

I can see a place for this in older used RV's that have limited service life left, consider that a typical modern lower end travel trailer only have about a 15 year service life before they tend to end up in a scrap yard, and I can certainly see a place for these replacing the first or second set of lead acid batteries at the 5-10 year mark in the service life.

I saw those batteries the other day on Amazon and immediately looked to see if you had cracked one open. Thank you.

I think this is great! Many people who mostly camp with electric hookup don’t need 100ah but offering them a LFP option which has less risk of going bad if it gets to 0% is an amazing option for those people. Furthermore, repurposing batteries is great for the environment. They give additional 3-5 years (maybe more) of life rather then going to a dumpster. The only think they need to do is to clarify these are repurposed cells - otherwise, it’s a great option for many people at a great price.

Thanks for being cool and so knowledgeable on this subject matter, Will. You are an invaluable YT resource, especially with the growing threat of electric grid brown/black-outs in industrialized countries!

It seems that they were trying to be honest with stating 950 Amp hours. But you're completely right about the cycling , how does one really know how long it with last . What a completely awkward case for the battery , where do you place it. It ridiculous how large it is. It's like a 48v size for a rig or dump truck. Thanks for sharing this with us all and we'll see you soon my friend . Cheers
