RAMPART!!! We used to play that tirelessly in college back in the 90s! PC first, then someone bought a SNES in the dorm. There was a whole culture surrounding that game in our quad. They get mad at me because I'd only shoot 1 or 2 shots in a round with a fire cannon in very exact spots so they couldn't rebuild. Haha! They called me Strateg-O.

Why were they sued for such a generic looking game? There aren't even trade mark worthy characters.
Even more obscure than "Legend" is "Iron Commando". Both games use the same engine, but Iron Commando is a bit faster, and even more difficult (but you have 2 or 3 credits). I recommend to give it a try!

Thanks for this list, it reunited me with a version of Choplifter that I can play. I think I played an early version of that when I was a kid, but never knew it's name.
Great video! Would like to see with older consoles - Atari, Intv, Coleco, Vectrex, etc.. too!
Bio Metal is actually an awesome shooter once you learn how to play it. You can shoot your shield off in 8 directions to cause serious damage to enemies. The game has a bit of a time management element to it as you put the shield away any chance you get to let it recharge and unleash it on your enemies to tear through them. I would personally recommend remapping the controls in options: y=shoot, b=turn shield on and off, l=spin expansion, r=shoot shield in a direction. The visuals also get much, much better after the first level. Level 2 in particular looks absolutely gorgeous. Give it another chance.:)
My sister & I would play Rampart for hours. Very much an overlooked multi-player game.
Great channel friend!
Between the snes and emulators i played a ton of these. I remembered a ton of seeing them in nintendo power magazine as well. I really loved uniracers, you built speed by doing tricks and they had diminishing returns which made you have to vary things up to keep your speed or score up. It was a progenitor to the skate and snowboarding games of the next generation.
Oh my gosh this was great!
Sometimes, a good generic shump is exactly what you need. Just like a simple hamburger, chips and coke makes you feel like a king once is a while.
I seen combatribes was on the screen. That a gem that’s highly forgotten. I’m glad I got my three carts of that game before it’s too late.
@GregsGameRoom
3 ай бұрын
Yeah Combatribes is a good one.
Uniracers definitely with the effort to learn the controls, because once you do, it plays much better! Very fast, exciting and unique game.
Cybernator was one of my favorite games in the SNES, but I was never able to finish it. One of the side buttons activates a shield which is a key part of the gameplay, and makes you pretty much invisible from all sides except for the back, so you can hold it in place of all frontal attacking enemies (even if they drop bombs on you), and take no damage.
I owned Plok and Uniracers as a kid and found then both to be super hard. I had rented Brawl Brothers and Power Instinct, not finding either of them to be particularly special. Also, thanks for all the ones I hadn't heard of or just haven't seen gameplay of before!
I had both Plok and Pushover... Plot was a fun way to pass the time (you throw your limbs at the enemy. Don't jump on them)... but pushover is still to this day one of my absolute favorite puzzle games. They need to bring that back.
Good list, I was not familar with most of these and I'm pretty savvy on these SNES games, all my friends say I know my SNES games. When I walk into a room, people go "wow, that guy know's his stuff"
Also, that "Ninja Warriors" game on SNES has been remade. Anybody wanting to play that game should be seeking out, "Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors." I know it kinds sounds like a sequel, but it's a true remaster in all the right ways.

Legend is really cool. There are a few things to understand about the controls though. Press and HOLD the button down to perform combos and press in the opposite direction to swing around and hit an opponent behind you. You also have a shield button which is extremely useful once you learn when the opponents are going to attack. The most important thing to know though is that the game actually does have infinite continues. You need to actually get past the first level though and it doesn't actually say "continue" on the title screen but choosing start absolutely does allow you to continue from the stage you died on.
My neighbors and I had a phase where we played a LOT of Super Bowling. Used to be able to get a perfect game like every time. Super Double Dragon was actually the first game I played on mine and my brother's SNES when we got it, Christmas of 1992. For some reason we popped that in instead of SMW.

A lot of discussion in retro game communities just centres on the same so-called top 10 or 20 classics for each console. The fact is that most people haven't explored the libraries very much. There are dozens if not hundreds of forgotten worthwhile games for SNES and MegaDrive. I enjoy discovering them a lot more than I do playing Super Metroid again.

Definitely nice to try some lesser known games.
Cybernator is another game that is absolutely amazing once you learn how to play it. The shoulder buttons let you lock your gun into position and also block incoming attacks with a shield. Double tapping forward or pressing A lets you dash. I recommend focusing on powering up your machine gun first. The punch can be really awesome once it is fully powered but isn't too useful at first. Easily one of the best SNES games ever made.
Fun video, definitely some gems I haven't seen before. A few years back Piko Interactive did a rerelease of Legend and included a speed setting in the options. I'm not sure if the original had that.
Choplifter III looks amazing. Having grown up with the Master System version, it was disappointing to learn we basically had access to the best version outside the arcade. I'm going to have to give Choplifter III a spin on my Everdrive.

Brawl Brothers is great and I still like it today 😀 Enemy grab you is 0 problem, you can counter-grab them. Cybernator, I still know the trick for a very OP weapon after Mission 1. Ninja Warrior is great, had it also on my Amiga 2000 back then and it was way too hard, but the soundtrack was top notch. Super DD was cool, but it felt too slow for me to enjoy it. I always find it strange so many people hate on Legend. It's been on other gaming list videos saying it's bad. I personally loved it as a kid. I think that's what most of us forget about. Is the perspective of a child. I will say Warlock, even as a child, was an absolute abomination. I love these videos because I still somehow manage to find new games to play. I definitely recommend to anyone to buy an emulation handheld and just play every random game (including Japanese titles).
In Uniracers you need to change your orientation with the ground so that you land on your wheel. Successfully landed tricks give you speed boosts.
cool vid! that said; 2 things about "Brawl Brothers"= 1] the lag with the attacking? must be your emulator! I used to have a physical copy on an actual SNES console not long ago and the attacks would come out soon as I pressed the button! 2] here's a bit of help: you can actually keep attacking the enemies while they're on the floor. it definitely helps to avoid getting crowded!

Don’t think so. No other game is delayed like that.
Your lack of holding L or R on Uniracers is why you don't like Uniracers. You need to swing that thing around to actually land stuff (plus you get a huge speed boost on straight ways by just doing the rolling flip jumps by holding L or R).

Uniracers is super fun in 2 player
I remember Phantom 2040. I remember the cartoon. I also played Rampart fairly recently. Double Dragon series is legendary. My brother had the super scope so I rented Tin Star once. I liked the Terminator 2 game better. And Uniracers was a joy for those who could play it (thankfully emulation was coming soon) since Pixar sued DMA (the team behind the first Grand Theft Auto) for having an animated unicycle - yes, that was the entire reasoning, and the judge sided with Pixar because judges are not intelligent.
The Ninjawarriors is one of my faves on the system. The plot is that there are three untested combat androids , activated by rebel Leader Mulk and released against the evil invaders of Bangalore, a dictator in a neighboring country with a penchant for robotics and genetic experiments. I remember Realm from an issue of Nintendo Power. It was not well-received, but the art looked cool. Reminds me of Boogerman with a gun. Super Souble Dragon was huge dissapointment for me. The music wasn't nearly as good as the previous three games and the action was SO slow. At least the moveset was cool.
