While I don’t agree with some of these games I do appreciate you being authentic in what you love man. Phantasy Star 4 is the best game in the series but contrary to most people I think the 3rd game is better than the 2nd. I would have included Mortal Kombat 2 and Shining Force 2 on a list like this. But we are all different. That’s the beauty of gaming!

Great list Sir! Phantasy Star 4 is the very first JRPG i have ever played and I fell in love!

I was a SNES lad, but years later I found Shining Force on a collection, easily my favorite Sega game

@@CaptainSkyhawkk I didn't even know about that one.. Shining Force 1 is kinda like a proto- FF Tactics, with Breath of Fire characters. It was a really good time, I heard the 2nd one was even better.

Very unique list, I appreciate this. It’s not the average typical list, I love variety and this list displays that.

Like I mentioned in the vid nostalgia runs heavy for that one.

I really like this list! I have a lot of time for Growl despite it not being considered a great game generally. In the UK we had a store in a nearby town that had Japanese imports, which was crazy back then for this area. At that time, Growl was pretty unheard of here, I bought it based on the images on the back of the box and loved it, spent many hours on it :)

Great list. Sonic 2 is the game my sisters and I played most as kids. It's the only sonic game i ever completed. Ghouls n Ghosts is my favorite game of all time but other than not seeing that i agree with your choices. Thanks for the video it was a good time

Good list, very surprised to see SOR1 over SOR2, but I kinda see your reasoning.

Glad to see some love for Sonic Spinball! I never had a Genesis back in the day, but later on when Genesis emulation was making strides on the PC, Sonic Spinball was one of the first games I tried playing and I fell in love with its weird amalgamation of pinball and platforming elements. Is it a great pinball game? Not really. The physics are floaty and the game often feels sluggish, but I actually like that it plays a bit differently than most pinball games. I think it is unfairly maligned. I can understand that people may have been frustrated at the time when this game out instead of Sonic 3, but I think a lot of the people who dislike it today are just parroting what they've heard and have never actually bothered to play it.

I like Sonic as much as the next guy, but personally, I would say that the Mega Drive version of King Of The Monsters 2 is my favorite 🧡

i remember im mostly into sonic, sports games, beat em up, sf 2 so im fine with genesis. i only played a few games on snes like c.trigger, mario, dragon ball but the rest genesis is for me

Love SOR1, but the GamePlay is the Worst in the Series; I recommend Shining Force 1 and 2 and they’re my Favorite JRPG on the Sega Genesis

If you like "Sonic Spinball" I would suggest checking out "Dragon's Fury." Also, if you like "NBA Jam" (and who doesn't like "NBA Jam?), step it up one notch, and check out "NBA Jam: Tournament Edition" for the Sega CD. Specifically the SEGA CD version and not the Genesis version (although it's fine too).

There are wonderful games on this list. However, even though Growl, NBA JAM and Sonic Spinbakl are good games they are not even in my top 200. You should have considered triple A games like Shining Force 2 and 1, Beyond Oasis, Monster Workd IV, Comix Zone, Strider, Quackshot, Alien Soldier, Gargoyles, Pocahontas, Aladdin, Vectorman, Eternal Champions, Castle of Illusion, The Revenge of Shinobi, Virtua Racing, RocketKnight Adventures, Ristar, Pulseman, Shadow Dancer, Ranger X, Thunder Force IV, Moonwalker, Flashback, Road Rash 1 and 2, Red Zone, Kid Chamaleon, Toe Jam & Earl, Rolling Thunder 2, Alysia Dragon and many others.

As well as Greatest Heavyweights, X-Men 2: Clone Wars, Dick Tracy, Dahna, Atomic Runner, Splatterhouse 2, Blades of Vengeance, Ecco Tides of Time, EarthWorm Jim, Two Crude Dudes, Samurai Shodown, Super Street Fighter 2, Sonuc 1 and 3, Streets of Rage 3, Mercs, Rambo 3, Contra Hard Corps, Vampire Killer, Batman, Batman and Robin, Spiderman vs the Kingpin, Golden Axe 1 and 2, Alien Storm, Dynamite Headdy, Buster Hidden Treasure, Dune, Hyperstone Heist, Punisher, Rolling Thunder 3, Rolo to the Rescue, Vectorman 2, Toy Story, Workd of Illusion. Many of them are available at Sega Genesis Mini 1 and 2.

Finally, someone who shares my taste in genesis games! Sonic1 FTW! and SoR1 is more enjoyable due to the reasons you mentioned 👍

I don't consider that a Sonic game can be in the top 5, nor that it really competes with Mario (shorter, easier and returns you to the beginning after losing, unlike Mario which had longer, more difficult games and with continuations unlimited). They are games where speed partially automates the experience (except in the first one), and they are also relatively easy games, due to the lack of dangerous obstacles and enemies during the game (and the rings make things easier). And it does not have a difficulty selection (like many other Genesis games did).

@@CaptainSkyhawkk Yes. If it is easy there is no motivation to continue, and if it is very difficult you end up bored and quit. I think the appropriate difficulty is just right/tough (with a hard mode available in case anyone feels like it).
