@@dr.dylansgame5583 It basically means you either never can have it, you're of a VERY rare few, or you said "fuk the exclusivity" and injected the pokemon using an external program like PKHex. Especially for Event Mythicals, which are some of the worst pokemon about filling up a Living Dex...

And I'm the type who feels pride in hunting for good natures and not injecting etc. So event exclusive moves and such upset me. The closest I would go to injection is using the servers people made for certain gens to recreate official events. Idk why I do things this way but it gives me a sense of accomplishment to EV and IV at least certain mons if not my whole final teams. From start to finish cause when I finally turn the into an Off Meta Monster for online matches feels so satisfying. Also the same applies to Generation Exclusive Moves. My favorite Example Being Clefable learning Soft Boiled but only in Gen 3 cause I use it on all my Clef Builds. Whether it be Defense, Offense, Support, Balanced, Etc.

Eruption Heatran absolutely deserves a mention in this conversation. You could only get this thing from a Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs event for a couple of months. Given how much I love this game, the fact that I didn’t have access to the event at the time continues to make me incredibly sad.

Ouch... that hurts to even consider. I was only thinking about the inability to trade forward. The dead batteries thing is a huge problem with gen 2. Unless people had the mega memory card or other means to back it up. Good chance most all of those have been lost to time. Definitely makes me appreciate the devs who have worked to recreate these events so they may be preserved.

Considering the dying batteries and the fact that if your battery die,you lose your save file,even if someone got one of these special gen 2 pokemons,most likely it has been erased from existence unless some guy was careful enough to take care of his gen 2 cartridge and game boy color,which to me it's very,very unlikely,beside you can't even transfer them on the most recent games,so having one of these special gen 2 pokemons on the original cartridge is more a curse then a bless.

I’ve looked around because I wanted to do this and there’s some ways to replicate some of these it seems but as you just mentioned even if you know how to get them to the bank or home it won’t pass because there’s not supposed to be a way for them to be there. You can transfer them by other means somewhat but when it comes to the official transfers it’s just gonna be like getting kicked in the sack.

Yeah. I felt really bad the day my Silver version's battery died. Even though I had a DS by the time it died my Silver version meant allot to me and I would whip out my GameBoy from time to time just to play it. Easily my most played videogame 😁

Aura Sphere Riolu wasn't that common either, since the event was only in Japan (but not limited to japanese copies) and only part of an event in a spin-off game. Also, the rarity of it only increased over time due to some people probably accidentally evolving it. It is only now not-so-rare anymore because Riolu in Legends Arceus can learn the move. But that doesn't negate the fact that this original Riolu from Shadows of Almia is probably one of the rarest I personally know of.

What sucks though is as of SV, if you transfer a Pokémon over, the movesets will be reset. So egg moves and theoretically distribution moves will be erased :/

I got the shiny zeraora, but traded it for other event pokemon (I dont remember for which one I traded, maybe it was for the Victini with Fusion Bolt and Fusion Flare, or a Keldeo from the Kyurem movie, but at least I have it in my HOME dex)

Last time I was this early, you needed a cable and a human physically in front of you to trade and battle! Okay, real comment now. This is really fascinating stuff to learn about. A pokemon you could literally only get for 45 minutes at one location in the entire world? How bizarre and interesting! I'd probably never have heard of this on my own. Also, even though it is a Delibird, it's kinda messed up that they'd give any pokemon an exclusive rare move and then just make it widely available later. One wonders how many other pokemon on this list will have the same fate.

There's one pokemon I know that absolutely nobody will ever have: King AZ's Floette, also known as Eternal Flower Floette. It was set to be a Wonder Card distribution or something but it never ended up being released. Strengthwise it had the stats of a Florges except one less point in special defense.

I have one, but it's through Action Replay 3DS which you could use to give yourself the Mystery Gift. It's not legal to own, but definitely usable in Gen 6 to say the least. That Floette is hands down cooler than it's evolution

@@serge2cool Yeah, Florges and all the other humanoidish pokemon are kinda off-putting to me. Plus I don't think you can evolve Eternal Flower Floette. I'm thinking of making it my starter in my next XY run. It probably doesn't make sense narratively because it's been wandering alone for 3000 years, but the Pokemon protag always seems to have that charisma that draws all kinds of people and pokes to them.

My favorite event pokemon has to be the 2013 octazooka sableye and I'm sad it didn't make the list.

Well TECHNICALLY you can transfer Pokemon from gen 2 to future games but it requires a save dumper and a hacked 3ds. I have a petal dance Pichu and a shiny celebi in my pokemon home right now with their GBC marks.

I haven’t stayed on the ball with recent special distributions but i did back in the day. I have every UK pokemon given through code, events and such since ruby and sapphire. My shiny legendary dogs have been with me since 2009. They're my favourites.

Project Pokémon event database has entered the chat I have a egg Chansey somewhere in my event collection but it’s up to level 100. I know all the older events are cloned but still glad to have them. I probably have a few other of these events too, really need to sort through them again. Japanese events can be gotten in Korean too in many cases cause they use the same console region.

Ohhh... I have the Celebrate Chansey from Let's Go! I'm from Brazil but I was traveling to Japan during my father's birthday and he got the Chansey code for me. Didn't know it was this limited lol

As for the first Pichu, gen 2 to gen 3 trading has actually been made a reality thanks to youtuber Goppier. That said, it is far from an easy process and the tools needed aren't exactly public yet. So while its unlikely, it is a possibility for one to be able to be traded down some time in the future, should all batteries with saves survive that is.

@@Ghi102 As long as its possible for people to get their gen 2 (or even gen 1 for that matter) pokemon over to pokemon home, I genuinely don't think most people are too bothered whether they're legal in competetive pokemon play or not. It is similar to hacked pokemon in a way, but at the same time not really.

Well it’s sucks for people who live in the United States who can’t get to Japan for those Pokémon that are released for your birthday they don’t make them available outside of Japan and easy to access

I also have the shiny Zeraora, but I didn’t even participate in the max raid event due to being at work. But I saw the news about it on my Switch at least.

So I have a question for everyone here. How rare is a mew and a manaphy from my Pokemon ranch which is no longer able to obtain unless you have the game already on your Wii it takes 500 then 1000 Pokemon in the game

Not as rare as TRU event mons since that required being in person at a Toys R Us and most of those events lasted a week at best, sometimes they only lasted 2 days.

I mean technically you can transfer the game boy ones up, you just have to use a lot of 3rd party equipment to take the save data and put it into a virtual console copy of crystal. I’ve never done it personally but if I had an old cartridge and it had stuff like that on it I’d definitely try learning how to.

Gen 2 carts are at the point where most if not all of the original batteries are dead and since gens 1 and 2 have the save file tied to the battery there most likely are not any legitimate copies of the gen 2 event mons in existence anymore.

Last time i was this early, i hadn't broken my habit of getting up at 2:30 am on weekends. Edit: That event magikarp is at tha magical, dopamine-inducing point you guys. Those who've raised one without exp share get what i mean.

Anyone else remember the DS era, where you could use a laptop and Python to GTS trade yourself all the event-exclusive Mons? Normally I'd be against that, but when you lock Giovanni's story conclusion behind a limited-time event Celebi, or lock Victini to only those who bought BW1 at launch, or shiny-lock legendaries entirely, only to release them as promos, I was happy to say screw that... It was also nice to be able to give myself shinies. Some of my all-time fav designs are shiny Croconaw, Umbreon and Charizard. Plus, since water-types usually have purple shinies, I always thought it made sense to have a male Lapras or Vaporeon be their normal Blue, and the females have the Shiny colorations. And the fact that this technique was available for the killers row of games that was Platinum/HGSS/BW1/BW2... man, that was a great time to be a Pokemon fan. I consider that to be the end of the "original canon", if you will, because of Gen VI introducing a new type, as well as the trend of introducing awesome gimmicks that only last 1-2 gens (Mega/Dyna/Tera)

Are these moves breedable for these Pokémon species? It would shake things up for competitive battles.

this is dlc i can get behind mons from events should be able to be bought after the game after it comes out so the people that make the event get the mons and no one else until 2 weeks into the new game and have the event mons be in every game so it adds more to competitive just think it would change so much just to see your opponent using one of them because the moveset can change the terra/ stab/held item/ability/stats making it nearly impossible to predict how they will run the mon or even if its the mon you think it is they might make online battles blind so a zoruark ability is useful who knows

I have the shiny zeraora, and the special hisuian zoroark, but thats it

gen 2 shiny charizard is not hard to get at all. I hatched in 6 eggs with a shiny ditto parent. If you trade the shiny gyarados back to gen 1 and make it so that it only knows mimic and you mimic transform. In gen 1 there is a bug where if a ditto uses transform on a pokemon twice it will inherit the same dvs from that pokemon so when you trade ditto back to gen 2 it is then shiny. I hatched shiny charmander in 6 eggs.

I have to gen nine cards I got from a GameStop months back I just never use cuz I don't have any of the gen9

I bet that present move would be great against pokemon that do more damage the less HP they have

All the gen 2 carts have probably reset by now, all of those legit pokemon are probably gone

I don't get why they can't re-release these rare pokemon. They'd make perfect event pokemon to give out, without having to create anything new. Plus those who already have one, would love to try for a better nature version as well! If it's because of the sprite, just make a 3d model of it and reuse it. Some like ash-greninja are already modelled, so it's silly to not just add that model to the game. Especially if it's just another texture since all the animations and base code are already done for a greninja, it's just a matter of making a new ID code for another version of said pokemon and put that new model/texture on. If it's about balance they can easily fix it with the [Event] tag on all event-specific pokemon. Pretty much like a badge of honor, it allows them to keep track on all event pokemon who may have moves that could break the game and bundle them under 1 catagory. This means if they wanted to, they can just prevent any [Event] tag pokemon from entering and voila, problem fixed! The sadest part is, without cheats or hacking most of these will either fade away or get deleted with a new save; which is a shame since someone put a lot of work into them, only for it to just be thrown away.

Gen 1 and 2 events have it rough fr. As long as bank is still working Gen 3-4 Events you can still move them but the process is a pain. Gen 5 you can use the poke transporter. Gen 6 and 7 you can use bank And for 8 and 9 you can use home

The real question is, are any of those Pokémon any good with the special moves?

The Zeraora being nicknameable isn't that interesting. Gen 8 added the ability to nickname Pokemon that don't have your TID provided they weren't already nicknamed before

Actually all of them can be made or remade using a save editor Or just copy them from an original save data and paste them into another generation sav data and they will be 100% legal online

Didn't gamefreak tackled this tho. Like home now checks if pokemon have the same ID and if there's two more in your home that have matching IDS. you won't be able to trade it through home. Only way is to trade it through the game.

I have 3 shiny Zeraoras, granted I traded spare marshadows for 2 of them.

I feel like the rarest Pokemon I own is an arkoos I got in bdsp IN 1 POKEBALL LIKE 5TH OR 6TH TRY HOW EPIC WAS THAT???? (but I did waste like 50k on ultra balls cuz I was told it was the hardest Pokemon to catch and for some reason, i used the worst poke balls first)
