I am recently obsessed with single foot balancing exercises, so this is great and really helpful!
Absolutely loved these, Cori. As I your channel. Thank you so much for everything! 😃👋❤️
Folks dont realize balance is a learned/practiced skill. it comes it goes. Doing your exercises means it will never go.

Oh it totally is. And I'm constantly working on my own in so many different ways. As with all things fitness, the more we move in different ways, the functionally stronger we will be! BUT you've got to move and practice! Use it or lose it...

Working on balance is necessary after age 50. It becomes even more so when you have hip joint replacement as you lose some nerves that are part of the bodies balance input. Balance really becomes degraded if you have a full neck fusion. You need to work on your balance every day. These exercises are very helpful

I would recommend seeing a PT. You can strengthen the muscles but not the joint. You create stability through strengthening the muscles. It is best to work with a PT that can address your problems and strengthen your glutes and quads and any other muscles that need it. Balancing exercises will also be important.
yeaaah, let's work that balance !!!

Do you recommend anything for kneed pain? To do or to stay away from?
@redefiningstrengthOC
7 жыл бұрын
Depends on why you have knee pain. I do recommend using foam rolling and stretching to maintain mobility. Glute activation is important and many of these balances moves can be important to include. :-)
For someone looking to improve their performance for sports, are these examples of exercises that they could use?
@redefiningstrengthOC
7 жыл бұрын
It depends on the sport as each athlete's requirements are different. I would definitely think some balance training would benefit you though as any time we can improve our stability, we can generally generate more power and strength. But the exact moves I would recommend would be more sport specific.

Redefining Strength oh I see. So these would all probably benefit me in a general way since I play a couple sports for recreational purposes
These exercises are the best I've seen so far, and 25 of them. Amazing! I'm so grateful you put them all together in this follow along ! Is there a way I can give something back? Do you have a "donation"-paypal? It could be a really nice way to add to you videos, like, "If you enjoy my video, feel free to send your gratitude whatever way, and you want to send me a buck or two, here's my paypal for donations.".

Should I start with the blue pad and ( hopefully ) work up the the Bosu ?
i have never seen this kind of bosu before. is it better than the normal one? if it is, why? thanks
@redefiningstrengthOC
7 жыл бұрын
It's a Terra Core. It's honestly more different than a normal one for balancing than I realized as many of the balancing moves I'd only previously done on a normal Bosu. I was given it by Battlehouse to test out and I like it. It is cool because it has bars you can even attach resistance bands to. Better...Haven't decided yet haha

Single leg squats -- do you have a program/method that helps to build up to being able to do those?
@redefiningstrengthOC
7 жыл бұрын
I'm currently writing up the progression I used to get there as I'm not naturally good at them...like at all haha. My recommendation is to work both top down aka squatting to low boxes and such as well as bottom up, rolling up into the squat. I show the roll to squat in my cardio-core video - kzread.info/dash/bejne/oYqDs8yuda-xoKQ.html&lc=z13psh5jyrjmg50hx04chjio1wb3hzwb3p40k

What does it mean if my ankle feels like it straining itself when doing the one legged balances.
@redefiningstrengthOC
5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what straining means in this case, but if there is pressure you can't handle, you need to address your ankle mobility and stability first. The muscles of our lower legs should be working with any balance move, but if it is too much, we want to figure out why first.
@daveruby2854

@@redefiningstrengthOC yeah, sometimes my ankle doesn't have stability and is shaky when I do these balancing exercises. What should I do? I'm okay with shoes, but when I'm barefoot I'm a little shaky.
