Oddly I had a print of the "crying boy" when I was a kid, I thought it was beautiful but for some reason my kid brother started begging me to get rid of it saying it was creeping him out... it was replaced with a print of a tiger jumping out of the wall because he thought that was somehow LESS creepy.

I saw the real annabelle doll last year and it was cool, the doll might be legit but there was lots of fake exorcism videos and quite the sales pitch at the end for " psychics"

Dekkers 16 yeah it does, we can linguistically trace the word back from Maori to Polynesian languages. But agreed, tapu has a slightly different meaning than taboo--taboo really means forbidden and tends to be permanent, whereas tapu can be lifted.

There is also taking a rock from the volcano Pali in Hawaii that is cursed as well as James Dean's car that he crashed in.

A great many of these items could be seen to their best advantage on a very large bonfire. "This cursed item killed most of my family, so we put it in the attic." "Are you mental? Let me go get some firelighters..."

It's supposed to be better to leave it trapped and put it someplace safe with precautions taken to keep it there. Personally I'd send it to the Warren's home. They have a blessed room to keep all that stuff in.

I've seen too many cursed object videos that didn't include the hope diamond, definitely a thumbs up

Just a small note, Ghost Hunters looked into the mirror mentioned in 25. They found that because it was a very old mirror, it had defects deep with in it from when it was made. They showed that if you looked at it closely at an angle you could see where the glass was actually warped between layers and the silvering (the "silver" backing used to make the glass reflective) was fogged in some places and separating from the glass in others. As well as it simply was warping over time due to the conditions it's been through. The results of these various defects were that if you weren't aware of them or were looking at them at just the right angle, it Appeared as though there were figures, "prints", etc. in the mirror that weren't actually there. Especially when head lights shining through the windows stuck the surface just right. So while the story of the family being poisoned may or may not be true, the "curse" isn't.

One is not supposed to take home a lava rock without leaving an offering in return for the volcanic goddess, Pele. The ranger station near Kilauea receives hundreds of lava rocks every year, sent by tourists who removed said rocks without leaving tribute -- and who found themselves cursed because of it!

The mirror at the Myrtles Plantation also jumped off the wall, flew across the room and hit the owner 20 years ago and didn't break.

I can see one of the lil girl's, the Mother and the Father in this photo of the mirror. The Mother and Father are at the right side and the little girl is at the right side of the mirror. Cool photo!
