I've been meaning to pic up a couple hundred necron warriors and do a ridiculous phalanx of murder robots for a campaign. That idea now doesn't seem so far fetched after watching this. Awesome work!

Bought the Recruit Edition because I cannot wait until my Indomitus MTO box comes in November... did the Necrons, which is 10 Warriors, 3 Swarms, 1 Warden in 2x 4 hours in the evening. Im half way throught my Necrons from Indomitus box. Your guide videos from few months back were my inspiration so I'm doing exactly the same scheme :D Doing almost twice as many models in next to no time is mindblowing. Still I have a lot to thank for becouse - slowly but surely - I'm painting my batch and as for my first army I'm am extremely happy with results. You nailed this chalenge and made this Herculean task seem not so hard in the end. Great job!

Finding this video literally the morning after finishing my first 24 hour speedpainting attempt of... Necrons XD Kinda wish I'd seen this first but hey happy with mine (An Indomitus box and elite edition box). very cool to see how much is possible with these guys and a refrehing change to paint new minis rather than deal with my usual 2nd edition stuff :) Well done man they look amazing!

That was awesome video mate. Nice to see Australia win one eurovision :D Breaking this painting up into batches and segments makes it more manageable. That happy little accident was great and it saved an entire step and time. Hopefully you do more of these and see where you can make improvements. Keep up the good work.

The good/bad 🙂 from your vid is that I need to revisit my bad boys and bring them up to scratch (well, the new scratch...). I just love your basing technique!! I intend to try used coffee grounds with tufts of scouring pads and tiny pieces of charcoal mixed in. Wish me luck!

Great video! I think I really have to try something like this as lately I'm terrible at finding time to paint. I need to start Friday after work and basically just go until 8am on Saturday...don't have time to do a 24hr but I think I can manage 12-14 hrs. I really like the scheme you went with and might steal a few ideas. :)

It's basically the same technique as my Minas Tirith Walls but without the foil detailing so give that a shout mate, exciting stuff!

Hey there, a quick question about paints. You mentioned Runelord Brass being a new paint, and I can see it's in a pot with a white lid and is labeled as a base paint. I have a slightly older pot of Runelord Brass. No white lid and it's labelled as a layer paint. Are these the same paint? Will I be better off buying the new Runelord Brass over the one I have if I intend to basecoat with it?

Hey Cinder! Yes they are a different paint, but I believe they are the same pigment but with a different level of rigment to medium ratio, hus making it a thicker base paint. I haven't used the old one but for $6 I'd recommend trying the new one for basecoating I'm absolutely loving it.

@@Zorpazorp The issue is more getting to my paint store during Covid ;-;. Our family has been very good about lockdown, and I've only gone to buy paint once during a huge shopping trip. I will keep this in mind for when I finally get some necrons though. After playing Mechanicus, I really wanna buy some.

Testors Dull cote, Munitorum spray by GW or Tamiya Flar Clear :)

I've gotten recently back into playing Soulstorm with my Fiance and Friend... we've been getting curb-stomped by the standard AI. They're not really bothered by it but I'm super miffed because I used to handle them in 1v4 matches. It could be because I'm using various factions instead of the SM or Tau, but it still upsets me that I keep losing, lol

Quick question lachy in an alliance army in mesbg do you have to have a hero from each side of the alliance of could i have say stryder leading warriors of minas tirith

Yeah warrios can only be led by heroes of their factions, and factions are bound by the alliance matrix which defines a few parameters :) for lower tier alliances, yellow and red you need a hero of VALOUR (that's their rank) to lead each faction.

@@rossbull8296 If they're taken as a part of the fellowship list then none, you're restricted to parts of that list. But some of the heroes are in other factions, like Boromir has a different profile for when he is fighting with Gondor :)

The Cryptek Armourshade Gloss looks ridiculously glossy compared to any other non gloss wash. I've had to throw it out and just use nuln oil normal. Also don't see why you didn't just dry brush over after wash to catch the edges and tops if this is speed painting, edge highlighting takes forever.

My Necrons got the following threatment for a 24 Hour job. - prime in leadbelcher - (optional) wash with the new cryptech armorshade but not too wet - when totally dry i wash it with black templar (contrast) with water (yeah they say you shouldnt but there is no issue with that to be honest) - i use interference colors by golden acrylics fluid colors for a "colorshift" effect on all bigger armor parts... - i use reflex green to enhance the highlight and a clear red on the top part to give a transition from red to blueish/green metallic ending in a green highlight. - last but not least i bring up the details with a metallic pigment which are just more direct than just using paint what do you think ?
