Being concerned isn't a crime. Those cops violated that young man's rights. He committed no crime. And are those the feelings enforcement officers? No. They're LAW enforcement officers. Yeah, the last time I spent any time in the library, there were people talking on their phones, even in the “quiet room“, and there were out of control kids running around (*shakes fist at the clouds). Which is why I don’t hang out in the library anymore. 😂 And so here’s someone who literally just puts his head down and is quiet for like 20 minutes, and the library employee comes over and asks him to leave? For putting his head down and being quiet for 20 minutes? And then he ropes in law enforcement over it? Granted, young man didn’t help himself in how he interacted with police. This is the nastiest comment section ever. I worked with Intensive MH patients for years. There is clearly a mountain of information we do not know about. In the meantime he needs prayers and love. I would not consider a library safe that has just a random guy out in the middle of the room pretending to sleep at a table. That is creepy as hell, it's no wonder they called the police.

We always hated the idiots who thought the library was a church like safe haven for them to sleep. If you aren't studying, reading, learning, you don't belong there.

Sounds like he is in an overwhelming emotional situation, too. Might be lies or whatever as he continues talking. It's hard to know, but he seems to have drawn this scenario on himself. A young man so desperate for attention that he's resorted to carrying what looks like a real firearm, and purposely escalating an encounter with police. This could've turned out VERY differently had he decided to pull that out. Not sure what pretending not to know what happened accomplishes. Very odd. Red flags everywhere.

Definitely mentally ill. He needs mental help.

I'm on the autism spectrum. This has social/emotional shutdown written all over it. Non verbal and refusing to participate worked for him in school. He doesn't know anything beyond that because the system/his parents failed to help him improve himself enough to be a self sufficient adult. For the record, I'm not defending his behavior, just explaining a potential "why?"

The library is basically useless today. I went to my local library once and there were only two people, and they were online.
