2024 WorldSBK | Assen - "It's Been A Difficult Start"

Спорт

It’s been my best weekend to date with Yamaha, so we have to take the positives! Slowly but surely I’m understanding the bike and how to take profit of the Yamaha R1’s strengths. I also never rode the bike in the wet, so that Superpole session was good and the result was great! All weekend it has not been the ideal conditions to prepare a race plan. We didn’t understand tyre choices from the start because we didn’t have many laps in the dry, so with experience and instinct made our decisions.

Enjoy the break for spring, and we'll see you hopefully fighting near the front at Misano!! ✊️💯💙🤍

Another great insight into your race weekend. Brilliant Pole position, solid results in Race 1 and SP race. Such an unfortunate final race, really felt for both you and Alex, a completely unintentional racing incident. A great show of character and friendship with Alex waiting to apologise and you accepting it like you did. True sportsmen. Roll on Misano.

Good job Jonny, if you aren't running for the championship then you don't have to force things. Just find the fun in it again! work hard, but relax about it too... It'll come. A multi-champion doesn't get shite over night. You know it's in there, just gotta find it methodically. You do, of course, know all this better than anyone. Thanks for taking the time to post the vids. Warmest regards, Sheffield.

Hey guys, just echoing some of the comments here. To be honest I was a little surprised that there were so many commenting on the production values. I thought I was kind of a rarity in critiquing production values on KZread videos. But, no doubt, whoever is in charge of production here is hitting it outta the park! The cinematography and the editing are really pro. I can see your subscribing numbers blowing up with this kind of quality. Always love to watch your style Jonathan, really down to earth and you are obviously a fun guy to be around, without having your head too much in the clouds, like a real regular like bloke who I would like to have as my friend. Hope the Yami gets to feeling more like home soon Jonathan. No need to try too hard, it will come, you have a great team! See you on the podium brother!

Johnny, i’ve been a fan of yours since the Ten kate honda days, you have always been and still are a class act, however i did not have a good feeling when you left KRT for the yamaha squad, with the rule changes for 2024 i knew you & your ZX-10R would be in a better position to fight for wins, i almost feel like you were feeling like the yamaha was beating you so go for it, when in reality it was toprack, heck look how well he’s doing with the BMW already, with that said i hope you can get the yamaha figured out soon, its weird not see’ing JR up towards the front.

I could point out why your comment is not very accurate, but I don't wish to be combative. These bikes all have strengths and weaknesses, and these change on a regular basis. Being able to put your bike on the podium has a great deal to do with your comfort level and confidence in your bike, and having a setup that works for you, and your riding style, and the track your racing on. I won't get into the strengths of the Yamaha, but you should know what they are given your proclivity for prophesying. Mr Rea more than likely will be back up front before long (gaining the pole at Assen is proof of that) , given his history as a multi time champ. Looking for new challenges and changes is often the hallmark of a champion. That's why many champions do the same thing Mr Rea has done, regardless of what type of racing it is. There are many historical examples, modern day, and in past era's of the heart of a champion looking for new challenges. That's a big part of what makes them champions. If you are truly a fan, you should back your guy in lean times too, not just when he is winning, and be supportive of his decisions, regardless of what you think. There are so many Monday night critiques that make comments and have opinions without knowing all the facts. Wish there weren't so many of them🤦‍♂️.
