I have this car and I love it. Its comfortable, very safe to drive, the regenerative break is like AI powered and you don’t seek power adjustment in menu. I almost do not use break pedal. The software is managed by google and does not create any problem and you get frequent updates. I also felt more comfortable w/o apple car play because car software is simply more compatible with its software by google maps.. The navigation on driver screen is perfect you don’t loose navigation while looking something on main screen (for example this one can not be actively used via apple car play)
I have a 2021 XC40 Recharge and I LOVE it. The car is fantastic! I’m looking forward to leasing a 2024 XC 40.

FYI, 2025 Recharge gets the white/cream interior options from the regular XC40 if that is of interest to you.
Weirdly didn't appear in my feed. Luckily checked to see why no video recently. I will be honest, I loved Volvo. I owned both a C30 and a V40, beautiful cars but there was always something going on. I have family that own the XC60 and XC90, they have had numerous issues but due to surviving an accident in an S40 that involved a large truck they are not willing to change brands.
I love that you take EVs offroad! There are not many tests of the traction control / AWD system in electric cars. But the ones i've seen show, that there is still a lot of potential... In electric VW/Skoda the systems seems to be worse than in their petrol engine cars... Same for Volvo. Not shure about bmw...
Hit the play/pause button. When you get out, or before you get in if you really want the car 'running' you simply hit that button and the car comes to life.
RWD was pretty brave on Your course. Nice episode. Greetings
Thank you! You are one of few being on the point
We just picked up a fully-loaded certified 2021 XC40 Recharge and love it. Not as sporty as our Model 3 and definitely more thirsty, but with only 8K on the odometer and coming in at under 2/3 of what it stickered for new it was a steal. Far, far better build quality than the Tesla, this really feels like a premium segment product. Supercharger access coming up soon will make it a zero-compromise solution.

Better quality than Tesla ain't really saying much, Tesla being an upturned bathtub with a TV inside.

Too bad you didn't get the AWD version, but at least it does look more comfortable for sleeping than the Hornet.
Fantastic … U did it dude….. cool …
I spat out my bourbon when you showed the price.
that was a moment... not only wrong tires, but i also miss the chickens in the chicken run course
Volvo moving to a RWD or RWD bias platform on their ( And Polestar) EVs really shines a light that they take lead from engineering. After the 80s, they preferred bias where the weight was. With EVs and their skateboard weight distribution, weight is more even so Volvo has shifted these models similarly.
Go Volvo go… cool video….
What exactly is the single motor variant supposed to compete with?

2:11 how many retakes did this take for the booth to get so dirty 😂
They are gorgeous looking but they are full of problems! Awesome review as always!

Test bmw ix1 offroad
I have a special place in my heart for Volvo but 60K is a lot of money and I’m seeing the lack of value here. Especially considering it’s not AWD.
It seems like they need to improve their wheel braking. Even though their parent company is Chinese, you would think that the Swedish side of the company would have pushed for more off-road worthiness.
Omg, your boots! well, is a Volvo XC, it must be dirty
Now its called the EX40 and the C40 is called EC40
why does this still have halogen brake lights!?
35-40k, maybe. This won’t sell well.

With the average ICE sale price around $48k.. you think this should be $5-10k less?

@@rustlesee absolutely. 2wd, it’s missing several options/pkgs, etc. Much better equipped vehicles for the money, electric vehicles included.

You are wrong. It actually sells like hell. It is currently Volvos revenue horse.

RWD with off-road mode? sounded it suspicious since the beginning.
2:45 end of the video! :)
Wired is better every time.
Given the poor performance on the course, I would question if it's even drive-able in the snow except in completely flat terrain. You'd have to get winter tires for sure and even then, I wouldn't trust it.
I took a test drive on XC40 and that thing wont go beyond 24mph. Turns out the software was set to some turtle mode 🤷🏻♂️ anyway software is horrible, drive customization is bad & it is many years behind on software.
$59k 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just when I thought Volvos couldn't get any uglier. . .
$60k for a 2wd car..???...........I'll just keep My 24 Forester Touring.......Roomier, extremely comfortable.......Go anywhere....Haul near anythjing..........And $38k..................Paul

When it comes to the auto industry nowadays……..every day is the same, but worse………we will never see the peak of cars ever again……….It will be decline, disappointment and planned obsolescence from now on…….Faheem
As much as I appreciate the videos...what were you thinking taking a 2wd EV anywhere off of pavement? What was the point..?

Ok… Glad that that’s out of the way. Ready for a real (ICE) vehicle review.
What a garbage car no thanks :)
