2024 Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro | My New Ride

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hey folks, I bought another Tiger! This is my first ride and so far the 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro is pretty sweet. I'm not getting super technical here, just bringing you along for the ride. Stay tuned for more riding and modification videos.
Special thanks to ‪@BellCountyMotoworks‬ in Temple, Texas. They're so much better than the other Austin area Triumph dealers.

    @@davido814 It's not that I've heard good things about the product but haven't seen anything negative. It's called AKURAT. They have a facebook page and can be reached via email or whatsapp. Ricardo there is very responsive. He had another customer with a 2024 and they are making changes to a bracket for the new models to accommodate for the o2 sensor and cat converter. I'll be installing it and testing it soon.

    Hello from Round Rock. I just found your channel while researching the Tiger 900. I currently ride a 1250GS but would like something a little lighter for some BDR trips I’m planning. Looking forward to catching up on the rest of your videos. Where do you do your off-road riding around here?

  • @timetomoto

    @timetomoto

    Hey Paul. I get that. The 1250 is a big bike especially for someone my size. That BMW F 900GS is looking pretty sweet too if the Tiger isn't your thing. Hidden Falls Adventure park is a good place to go but it's pay to play. There's a secret spot near there people are keeping a tight lip on. If you're on Facebook look for the Texas Hard ADV group and someone there will probably DM you the Lago location if you ask. In addition to that there are other off road parks like Spoaks or Let's Ride Ranch that have a lot of dirt bikes and quads but there are areas a big bike can play too. I also like to ride part of the Texas Overland route back roads between Marble Falls and Mason. Thanks for watching my videos.

    Howdy from Kerrville, neighbor. I'm an Austin refugee from Bee Caves. I bought the same bike last week. Getting suspension dialed by knowledgeable Triumph dealer at San Antonio's CTX Motorworks made a great difference. Highly recommend playing w suspension as the front forks were way to soft on demo bike and almost turned me off to it. I've been going farckle crazy last 3 days. I'm interested in what u do with your bike. Tomorrow I'll be after 300 miles so it's up to 6k on tach.

    Hello there neighbor - Congrats on the new bike! I think you've made an excellent choice 😀. I love that part of Texas, I haven't been out that way in a while. I love that stretch of hwy 16 between Medina and Kerrville. I've played around with the suspension a little and the first thing I did was stiffen up the forks a bit. I need to find the optimal settings for myself based on the different terrains. I'll talk to a pro to show me the ropes so I can share that with people. Thanks for watching.

    How does the bar placement feel compared to the previous gen. I recently visited a dealer here in Houston and sat on some bikes. They only had the 23 models in stock. I was surprised at how my arms had to be fully extended to reach the bars.

  • @timetomoto

    @timetomoto

    The 2024 Rally Pro bars have been moved back by 15mm so it's a little better. I can only compare it to my 2021 GT Pro and I'm not sure if there was a difference from the GT Pro and the Rally Pro handlebar position. I put bar risers on my 2021 GT Pro that brought it back by a few millimeters. So it's difficult to say for sure. I will say I have short arms and they don't fully extend on the 24 RP. The position feels much better than the previous GT Pro with the risers.

    Grats on the new bike. After doing a demo ride of the 900 it felt a bit too top heavy for the size of bike it is, center of gravity is way higher than other brands for whatever reason. I'm a 1250GS rider and it felt worse than my bike, not sure exactly why but just my 2 cents. How that converts to dirt riding I'm not sure, I don't ever do any heavy offroading other than light trails, BDRs, light camping. I'm interested to see how you fair with it long term.

  • @timetomoto

    @timetomoto

    Thanks man. I'm surprised to hear you feel that it's more top heavy than a 1250 GS. The motor is mounted lower on the Tiger 900's than many other brands so I don't feel that way. I wonder if it's the fact the tank is a weird wide shape that gives an illusion of that. Thanks for watching!

    @@timetomoto you are right, I even asked the guy at the dealership about the weight after the ride. He mentioned "are you sure?" since he was saying it should feel much less heavy but on a 20 minute ride hard to tell for sure. could have just been my initial impression and conditions.

    I've been thinking of upgrading to the 900 Rally Pro. Started doing some adventure riding on a Royal Enfield Himalayan three years ago. I do enjoy touring. Been riding many years on street bikes. Being able to get off pavement onto back country roads would be great. I have a 29 inch inseam; do you think this bike would be too tall for me?

  • @timetomoto

    @timetomoto

    4 ай бұрын

    It really depends on how comfortable you are with shifting your self from side to side and putting one foot down rather than both at the same time. I rode street bikes like cruisers exclusively for 20 years before getting into taller ADV bikes. I originally bought a GT Pro because it was shorter than the Rally Pros but realized I wanted a more off road focused bike. If you're only planning on light off road then the GT Pro might be the way to go for you. I also have a 29" inseam and over time I've learned to get comfortable. With the right technique and practice you'll get use to it and be a better rider for it.

    @timetomoto Thanks for responding. I thought we may be close to the same height. I just need to make it to my nearest Triumph dealer and get a test ride on each model. In your previous video, when you mentioned the issue with the rear shock, it got me wondering if the GT would be suitable for light off-roading, I think it will be fine for me. @@oldogshudnobetter498 I appreciate you subscribing, thanks! Yea for light off road it should be good. There were a couple instances where I pushed it too hard and I think that's what blew the shock out. But, in general, the GT Pro can easily handle light off roading such as fire roads or dirt roads. Good luck in your search.
