Compromises will always have to be made, and there will always be give and take especially when you are trying to please 100's of 1000's of people with all different preferences, priorities and driving styles, not to mention nothing is perfect. And...honestly... I don't really think the seats are a gimmick. More stability and less bouncing around for both comfort and safety...doesn't sound gimmicky to me.

I agree with Kelly on the Off-Road trim vs a package. I really hope they have an SR5 trim available with some package that offers a rear e-locker. Personally I’d rather have leaf springs since they sit more outboard and typically can handle higher load capacities.
Pre Runner for me... I am so excited for this truck. Its all I need.
I like the fact that it was a 6 foot bed option. I don’t care for the chase rack look at all, but over all, I like what Toyota has done and would consider it for my next truck. I currently drive a 2020 tundra

Same here, gotta enioy the sunroof option if I'm already paying over 60k for a truck.
Toyota had. Good approach, they miss a couple of things. What about actual travel in the front or a actual wider LCA, I mean Aussies get why Rogue. What about the cam tabs, they look the same as the ones that bend under some stress on the 2nd / 3rd gen. The hitch portion seems to be welded and seems to be stealing some departure or compromise the clearance. The truck looks awesome and would love to try that upgraded traction system to see how it actually compares to a true locked differential. Anyway, keep up the good work guys!
Really looking forward to what they put together for the next generation 4Runner! I think this is a nice rig though. I'm sure it will sell well. I would opt for the Pro as well if I were going to get a one. Great video as always guys!

Thank you very much, I would bet money that the new 4Runner will have a lot of the same styling of the Tacoma.
Overall love the truck. two big, missed opportunities: No Locker! Locker is a standard for top model. No increased wheel travel: one no one is taking about is that they widened the wheelbase by 3" with a spacer not by making suspension wider so there is no increased wheel travel. It's still 8.5" instead of 11-11.5 inches that we get on competitors. Big miss Toyota!
@kinanromman5197

The travel is a way bigger deal than front locker. I’m convinced MTS will be 80% as good as front locker and you can also just add one. No big at all. But less travel is a miss. Too expensive to upgrade all that. I’d love to see official numbers though.
Wheres the Independent rear sususpensiomed that was posssible? Ill stick with the third gen and build it.

@@AdventureBuilt I actually just bought a 2023 mostly because of my lack of confidence in the 4Cyl Turbo. My mechanic schooled me on how Turbos burn excess oil as they start to get up in mileage and sure enough, I had an engine go out in one of my cars, as it was burning excess oil and never warned me of low oil. So, Turbos scare me now. But then also my mechanic explained that getting all that power from a 4cyl using a Turbo charger puts loads of stress on it which leads to engine issues later in its life. Between those two things, I decided to go with the "underpowered" current V6 model. Honestly, its a daily driver, off road camping truck and I can't see and have not yet experienced anything that made me feel it was underpowered. The real test will be when we get our Air Stream Basecamp camper an I'm pulling that. Especially on trails and stuff. My 2023 Offroad 4x4 is my favorite vehicle I've ever owned

@@southernsavagethejoshclark9083 I agree with you 💯 that the 3rd Gen Tacoma is a great truck. The lack of power issues start to be apparent when you start building it out as I did mine. 35” tires, RTT, armor, drawer system. Now it’s way overweight and it shows while driving. If you keep it chill it you definitely won’t have issues. Now for the turbo I would have to disagree. My old work truck was a 06 ford f250 turbo diesel power stroke with 250k miles and still ran strong and driven hard. I know diesel is different but the technology is similar. Turbo 4’s have been around for a while with high mileage. I think this is a wait and see scenario for all of us with 3rd Gen Tacomas. Now if they put a turbo 4 diesel in the 4th Gen I would be throwing my money at Toyota!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂

I pull a basecamp X and it is not ideal, especially in the hills. Definitely feels underpowered. I’ll be getting a new Tacoma with the hybrid. 460ftlb of torque is in a different universe than the v6. If I was worried about the 4cyl I’d get a prev gen tundra to tow.

Absolutely. I wish they had a turbo 6 option also. Would have been easy to do from the tundra. The turbo 4 isn’t terrible and the boxes frame is a big upgrade. They almost made it.

I think you meant to say that you could NOT care less. You actually stated that you do care.
I’m getting the TRD Off-road. Those seats on the pro are lawsuit waiting to happen. I don’t want my rear passengers being maimed by that irresponsible design.
My taco have more power Than all new generation 4 , Why ? Under my hood I have AFE Intake , Magnuson supercharged, pedal commander , TRD exhaust 😊

What is a supercharger? Is that similar to a turbo?
The BAD always dealers Fken prices!!!
The hitch is integrated with the frame...and what's up with 18" wheels. C'mon Toyota...
FYI...The Toyota engineers stay away from calling the breather a snorkel.

Nice!!!!
I bet the damn greddy toyota dealers will be marking these 2024 tacoma trd pro and trd trail hunter trucks up at a minimum markup of 5 to 7 grand over the mark price that will more than likely be 60 to 65 grand. I had a toyota dealer in Johnson city, TN marking up a 2023 Tacoma TRD Pro in solar burst color by 5,000.00 for total sales price of 58,500.00. I told them to keep it and sell it to another fool who is stupid enough to pay that absurdly high markup just to say they own a Tacoma TRD pro truck.

That is insane. I haven’t looked at prices in a while, mostly because I can’t afford another Toyota!
Not worthy the price. Should have had front lockers and a better suspension like fox and 35s like chevy did with the zr2
Ok, im at 10 inches of ground clearance on 31's. The new tacoma is on 33's at 9.5 inches. No thanks toyota, I'll keep my 22 tacoma.
I would do S.A.C. on Tacoma. Toyota should have did a solid axle on the front.

That will never happen. Keeps a couple shops busy!

They should have options. Ford did it on their trucks. I know that is the best thing i did to my Tacoma.

This looks like a 75k truck 😢

Agreed. Unfortunately.
It’s not a snorkel 🤿
There is nothing wrong with drum brakes. You get 90-95% of the discs’ performance but they last twice as long.

I don’t know. I have driven tacomas with the disc brake conversion and it’s a noticeable difference on heavy rigs.

Wrong
“Jacking up the price”….. Everyone….”we want more backseat space” Toyota…”ok here’s some stupid seats that no one asked for and take up more room and cost more” The seats are stupid and should have been an option.
Get rid of the onboard air and all that junk, get rid if that ugly mole pannel and toss in a front locker.... this is a huge mistake.

Something for everyone my friend. You can just not check those boxes when ordering.
If it doesn't past 150k miles, I'm returning the truck. Finally, the new tacoma has flush gas lid

It is not a bad truck at all!
I have no understanding why someone would want to run 35” tires on a Taco. Have you guys ever actually tried to rotate a set of 33s? I have and my back still hurts. 35s will destroy your fuel economy. The extra unsprung weight will make the ride worse. The extra rotating mass will reduce acceleration and braking. You’ll also need to regear. No thank you very much. It will look cool in the parking lot at the mall.
