I can't get past Sam's comment that "The Notebook" really surprised him. HOW???? It was incredibly formulaic. I hadn't seen the movie or read the book before seeing it on Broadway and still felt like every plot point was telegraphed a mile away. On another note, I think "Days of Wine and Roses" gets in ahead of either "The Outsiders" or "Here Lies Love," even though I didn't love it.

Thank you for acknowledging Roger Bart. He has indeed been working his butt off 😊 in that role for a few years now. I don't have my hopes up, but I would be overjoyed if he got nominated.

I appreciated all your predictions, and I understand the uncertainties. For me I remember most the emotional highlights (call them tear-jerkers). Antoine Boissereau's portrayal of Silver Star in Water for Elephants. Maryanne Plunkett's entire performance as older Allie in The Notebook. Lindsay Mendez' plaintive, soul-baring voice as Mary in the "Not a Day Goes By" reprise. Sky Lakota-Lynch as Johnny and Brody Grant as Ponyboy singing "Stay Gold." The realization that Kelli O'Hara as Kirsten could not/would not stay sober for her daughter's sake. BUT the show that affected me most was Illinoise. The set, sound and lighting were all excellent (the hand globes as the three stars/UFOs and lanterns as the campfire were lovely). The bold orchestrations, the musicians and the three vocalists provided a lush sonic canvas for the amazing choreo. Who needs spoken dialogue when these expressive bodies dance their stories so beautifully? The touching story of Henry, Carl and Shelby performed by Ricky Ubeda, Ben Cook and Gaby Diaz was the highlight of my theater season. Just my thoughts...

I'll add Casey, Hugh Coles and Liana Hunt to my favoite nominees for the Tony Awards. Back to the Future has been extending sales so many times already.

Curious as to why you think The Wiz will miss out in Revival? I haven't' seen any of the productions as an international, but I think with nostalgia for the material and from a diversity pov in a year where original shows aren't great on that front, it could squeeze in?

I know I’m in the minority, but I hated Appropriate. One of the worst shows I’ve ever seen.
