    My daughter and son-in-law are out shopping for one this weekend. There in the market for a slightly used one. They have a Crosstrek so I guess it's true once you go Subaru you never go back.

    Personally, I would still get the Wilderness. It’s all preference, but it’s the Subaru I like to look back at when walking away. If that makes sense. 😅 They all drive really well and feel very similar to me.

    @@jeffrey3498 I got rid of my 2019 Forester Touring last week. It had only 15K miles on it because it was in the repair shop more often than it was in my garage. It was definitely a LEMON 🍋. I loved the way it handled, the traction, the comfort, but it was literally in for repairs more often than it was out. So I sold it and traded in our 11 Ford Ranger XLT super cab 4WD pickup with only 36K miles in on a slightly used 2023 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab pickup with Leather and a sunroof last week. It has only 6K miles on it. Since I retired I drive about 5K - 6K miles per year so the Tacoma will be the Last vehicle I’ll ever have to own. It had the same 3.5 V6 that my 2011 Rav 4WD Limited had when I sold it to buy my 🍋 Forester. The Rav got 19mpg combined fuel economy and my Tacoma also gets 19.3mpg combined, but I know that my Tacoma won’t get the 28mpg on the freeway with the cruise set on 75mph. If I get 22mpg, I’ll be lucky. But I know how durable the 3.5 V6 is. I really like the Tacoma. It’s the best pickup that I’ve ever owned.

    is the Onyx trim a good pick of Outback? to me the Onyx has dual X-mode and better fuel economy of the entire lineup..

    I think each trim level of the Outback is a good one for the price. If you don’t need the turbo then the regular Onyx is a fine option if it’s what you like! 🙂

    I may be a bit biased because I own a Wilderness, but in opposition to that I also think highly of Toyota and Hondas historic reliability. With that said I think the current Outback Cars are awesome! One of the best regular vehicles I’ve driven. The only reservation I have (besides it being annoying to have the 11.6” screen) is the concern of “if” the CVT ever fails it’s way too expensive to replace. If the CVT wasn’t a concern I would choose the Outback over just about everything else. An extended warranty can also add peace of mind, but I don’t feel that I should have to recommend that. 🤦‍♂️ Thanks for watching!

    Interesting.. Our Subaru vehicles(WRXs/STis/Tribeca) in the past have had, very hot seats. This also includes our current 2020 STI. Dare I say, on par with my Audi vehicles of the past, and current S4.

    That’s interesting, and other people have mentioned the same thing! I’m wondering if there’s differences between models/trims or if it’s all just subjective experiences. This also doesn’t make any sense but since the fuse was replaced in my Wilderness (something I mentioned in my 36k update video) they feel warmer than they use to lol.

    @@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Having a fuse dictate the temperature/heating element in a seat heater, surely is weird. Then again, life is full of mysteries, as you already know lol PS: Yes, I remember hearing you mention the fuse replacement, along with the phonebox (sorry, Audi speak for Qi wireless charger within the vehicle).

    Test drive all the wagons?? Are there actually other wagons out there? Also.... She's screaming for a Turbo! The poor thing. (Yes, I know that's an option. Just sad that you don't get one on the trim level that's over $40K.)

    Lol, surprisingly there are. 👀 I’m not sure how many are for sale in the U.S. market these days but the other ones I’m aware of are at least Audi and Mercedes but those are obviously more geared toward street luxury wagon. And they do or recently offered very high performance trim levels of their wagons. 🤩

    Does the 2024 Wilderness have the Gen 4 triple camera Eyesight system? Also is the Touring XT noticeably quieter and more refined than the Wilderness? I will be ordering an Outback without test-driving, so need as much information as possible.

    I don’t think it does but I’d honestly have to rewatch my review video of it from last summer to know for sure. And I personally don’t think the Touring is noticeably more quite, at least in my own opinion, I think they’re both pretty good.

    My 21 Xt toring is crazy quiet. Can't hear dirt bikes or snowmobiles in it. But I thing Subaru dropped the acoustic side windoes in 22 on all the Xts. I also have a 23 limited 2.5 and it's no way as quiet inside.

  • @bubbalo3388

    @bubbalo3388

    5 ай бұрын

    @@dethsyl907 from what I understand. The Forester only has one engine option which is the non turbo version. The Outback offers a turbo version and non turbo. Even with the non turbo engine for the Outback it still has a little more power than the Forester. So if more power for you is important then the Outback may be the way to go. So as far as the base engine for both Forester and Outback. The specs I saw seems like the Outback has better performance still than the Forester even though they are very similar in dimensions and weight. It's probably due to aerodynamics, tires and wheels set up and such. There are videos of comparison of the two, but best thing to do is go to a dealer and sit in the front and back, fold the rear seats down, drive them etc. and see which one feels good to you. Can't just go with specs on paper. You gotta see how it feels with you in it and driving. Because comfort and enjoyment plays a big part also, especially if it's a daily driver or a road trip car. Or if you live in hilly areas vs flat areas, and do you haul? Have a lot of people in the car etc. More power is nice if you can afford it.

    Subaru Engineer humor: Putting a reminder to "keep your eyes on the road" in a large pop graphic in the middle of your dash. (Not like there is anywhere else to put it, but I still gawk when my big warning pops up as the temp drops to 37F). How did that 0-60 time stack up to the Forester (non-Wilderness)? I drove a 2.5 Outback, 2.4T Outback, then a Forester back-to-back-to-back. Maybe the Outback is more insulated from the engine noise/road, but when trying to merge onto a 60 mph highway via a ramp with a bit of incline, the Outback seemed more strained vs the Forester. It also seemed less nimble. But it sure comes with a step up in features. Consumer Reports noted a couple things of interest. The Outback headlights scored lower for straight ahead low beam vs Forester, and reliability is "average" on Outbacks. (BTW, the 2024 annual car issue has arrived!) Great job with the review. Where did you do the roadside shot with that cool bridge in the background?

    That’s a great observation, and it would be fun to hear them justify their reasoning lol. Honestly, between the 2.5 models I can’t feel a consistent difference because DA is always different in every video. It can range from as low as 2,500 in winter to 7,500 in summer, and that spread alone is a 15-18% power difference. But I’d like to say probably the Forester is quicker due to its lower curb weight. It’s the Perrine bridge. I sometimes film local to it when I visit town. 🙂
