2024 Sherco SEF 300, Better than a KTM?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today I'm doing a ride review on the new 2024 Sherco (made in France) SEF 300.
The 300 is a four stroke, factory enduro bike that’s aimed directly at their main competition, KTM.
The video is a little longer than I would have liked but there was just way to mush good footage not to share.

The real dilemma lays in how one decides between the 300 2T and 300 4T in this 2024 range 😰

depends what you need it for. Faster riding/tests 4t, slower riding/forest between trees 2t (but i would recommend 250)

@@madMX96I agree with the concept of the choice being riding style dependent, but I’m curious as to why you say 250? I ride 250 2T in hard enduro, but love riding my friends 300s for the luggability and grunt in the really tight or steep situations. I’m in the market for a 300, so I’m trying to weigh as many options as possible. 🤙🏼

The titanium valves are a concern . Depends where you want to spend most of your time riding. 1-3 gears 2t , 3 -6 4t obviously both bikes are very versatile and can do much of the same thing.

Great review and thanks for your enthusiasm. the improvements on the 2024 model are going in the right direction. With a powerful but progressive engine adapted to enduro, Sherco seems to succeed in making a motorcycle that is less violent but as easy to handle as the Japanese (from MX), less enduro touring than the Austrian (with the Kayaba suspensions compared to the stock WP of the KTs). ). You should also know that the brand started by producing trial motorcycles, which can explain why it is very successful in the world of extreme enduro. What struck me the most compared to other brands is the handling on single track, the permanent grip of the rear wheel thanks to the progressiveness of its engine, the quality of the Brembo braking. In short, a real motorcycle made for enduro The 300 4-stroke displacement is a good mix between the lightness of the 250 with just the extra power it lacks, without having the inertia of a more powerful 350 but also more tiring when the ride is longer. It's more a big 250 with more HP at every engine speed than a small 350 with a lot of torque with drop in power at high revs Maybe the best of both worlds

Great vid mate, how’s the engine braking? Also how is it on the initial opening of the throttle? Thinking this’ll be my next bike probably 25 model after my little hiatus (knee surgery)

Engine breaking not bad for a 4 banger. Throttle response is good, quite linear. At high revs its super snappy. Can catch you off gard.

got a question (on a related topic, kinda): what brand is the van? does it convert from seating to bike carrier, or are you just using it "empty" for the bikes? (thinking of going the van route, would appreciate some feedback)

Nice riding bud I have the 23 model and she is a nice bike in the single trails I would love to ride the new model to compare the changes An extra 6 pony’s would definitely be noticeable Moving the oil sight glass has to be a winner, mine is a prick to see (behind the back brake lever) Cheers

I just saw you're the guy who did the 24 review on the 300. Great video btw! Sounds like this is the perfect bike for a guy like me who wants more torque than a 250 and a true singletrack weapon that isn't the 350 KTM, not that it's a bad bike, but the 350 was just typical KTM to me, lot's of top end.
