I’m convinced the whole Giamatti thing was a concerted push from pundits cause it didn’t make any sense

The Cesar Awards have nothing to do with the Oscars it only concerns France

Wow. Giamatti was my pick but I do not have much hope now. Still rooting for Stone and an upset in best picture although I am losing hope because I think Oppenheimer is overrated and never understood the hype.

I was totally blown away by Sandra Huller's performance in Anatomy of A Fall!

There is almost no Oscar winner without a SAG nomination in the past 30 years. I would be more happy if Sandra wins but it seems like a long shot. Competition is strong so votes might split and there might be a surprise winner.

Marion won cause she played Edith Piaf and her competition was an already Oscar winner veteran in a little seen film in a co-lead very subtle performance. Hüller is against two big, more likeable performances in a bigger films. One by an it girl of Hollywood delivering career best the other one highlighted by critics as a performance of the year with an undeniable political narrative. Good luck with comparing Hüller to Cotillard.

Neither. A Bening. That was a performance. A year of training to become Nyad. That role was so demanding. Lily will most likely win, and because of wokeness. Let's be real here.

@tonyg76 well it's not to say it isn't Oscar worthy.. but AB trained for a year. An incredibly demanding role, like Charlize in Monster (but different). I don't think Emma will win. Lily will in part because it will make Oscar history.

Oscar is not going 4 for 4. Emma is not out of this. Don't count your chickens before they're hatched.

THANK GOD Lily won cause however you feel about who should win - I’m glad we have a semi interesting above the line race heading to the Oscars

I'm pretty confident that it is lily's to lose at this point

If Lily wins, we most likely wont hear from her ever again. For Emma, even if she wins or loses, we definitely will see her on the big screen again.

Sorry, Annette deserves the Oscar. She most likely will not win.. but she trained for a solid year for Nyad. She's also 65. It's her time. Emma won't win. Lily will-- and probably to make Oscar history because she's of indigenous heritage. Not to say it's not an Oscar worthy performance, but it should really go to Bening.

Annette is so overdue - her resume is incredible - my prediction: she will get an award at the Governor’s Award next year

to compare emma to lily. really lily is a supporting role done in bed while emma is the whole unique historical role

uh calm down with Oppenheimer yes he can win awards but I have the impression that you forget Killers Of The Flower Moon this film deserves to be rewarded for best director, best film and best actress oppenheimer is not going to win everything when Killers Of The Flower Moon will win you go tell oscars steal

I think Emma is done for. But I hope I am wrong. But I doubt it.

Poor Things is not comedy, it is a satire. Not every movie with witty lines is a comedy. If they dont vote for it because they wont reward comedy that is tragic. The comedy genre is already almost dead. Gladstone will not become a star if she is given an academy award.

If Emma Stone wins the Oscar she would become first actress to win 2 leading Oscar's for comedy/lighter performances. Which is unlikely.
