2024's First Motocross Death is Nearly Unbelievable | Jayo Archer Tragedy
Ойын-сауық
Dirt kicked up into the morning air as the sun rose over the Melbourne motocross crowd, illuminating the racetracks where history was about to be made. The whistle blew and off went twisted metal, a combustion engine, and one wild, courageous rider soaring into the air like a free-flying bird.
You could cut the tension in the crowd with a knife as the bike started to rotate. The same thought played through every audience member's mind: ‘Is he actually going to be able to correct the bike at the last minute?’
For a moment in time, Jayden 'Jayo' Archer was frozen above the roaring crowd, floating over the dirt of a motocross track.
This is the story of a young, talented rider whose dreams and drive for the extreme ended in tragedy.

I didn't know anything about Jayo until I was researching for this video - the fact that he consistently pulled off triple backflips is unreal. I can't do one while standing let alone on a bike. RIP, Jayo.

RIP Jayo…. Whoever writes these episodes drag them out way too long by repeating everything 10 times….. Get to the point already!

My thoughts exactly. It could have been done in half the time, and without the artificial "aging" of the footage with white lines and spots. It doesn't look "cool" or "edgy," it just looks dumb.

Well said & no repeats!
RIP Jayo. This was not a motocross track, this was a freestyle event. Both dangerous, but completely different disciplines. .
Narrator forgot to educate us about the two big circular things fitted to each bike
RIP Jayo. My dad pasted the same day RIP Don. I hope you both are loving heaven
Jayo obviously had nerves of steel as well as an almost incomprehensible talent! People like this often suffer tragedies and sometimes die Young, but imagine how mundane our world would be without them. RIP.
The laws of nature have been upheld at every appeal. I’m sorry to hear about this tragedy. Those of us who ride and race understand the draw of the bike.

First time I heard of this amazing young man. When you have this life style your life is always on the edge
The poor guy died and I'm sorry but this is stunt riding not Moto Cross
Who would have predicted this end ?

You play it safe and stick to Pokémon Go.
Know your limits and never butt heads with the laws of physics you only have to fail once to pay the ultimate price
Sorry but Cranbourne South is not South Australia, it a suburb of Melbourne Victoria
What is Extreme, is that it took 18 minutes of repetitious explanations to tell of a sad several seconds of tragedy? A story which could have been told eloquently in 3 - 4 minutes.

Ya this guy sucks
R.I.P Jayo, R.I.P Jermey Lusk
When I was young I was at a motorcycle shop promotional party and there were a few pros there. I saw a dude in a wheelchair who it turned out was a former pro who'd been put in that chair when he was paralyzed in a wreck. I never forgot that even though I still did several stupid things on motorcycles after that, thankfully the good lord had my back and protected me from myself. Anyway, it's too bad he had to learn the hard way, but as the saying goes "Live fast, die fast".
Saw Jayo once he had an amazing talent for making a bike do the impossible. I can only imagine what he could have achieved if he was not taken from us so early in his career. Rest in peace. I will always remember you.
Absolutely no care for his life!! Sad
To the point: Death-defying is an act in which you defy your death.
Soft ramps don't count
I love the sport and much respect to all but at what point does everyone get tired of loosing friends. Eventually there will be limits at competitions on what’s allowed to be done. The triple is amazing but the chances of success is horribly low and if you do it more than once chances are eventually it will end you.

Sad😢
Sadly, Jayo didn't defy gravity....gravity permanently defied him. Thats always been the huge and unfortunate problem with gravity, it always works perfectly every single time. Even at times when you don't need it to work at all!

This is not a sport, is stupidity at best. Why would anyone put their lives at risk knowingly?

They fly too close to the sun and much of it is for pride and bragging rights.
"A man has got to know his limits"
josh sheehan did this first, and helped jayo and harry bink do it in comp. they landed on an airbag, sheehan on a wooden ramp
who writes these videos - horrible
I’m an old guy. I grew up worshipping Evel Knievel, reading the book (only at that time), and watching every jump, sitting on the edge of my seat, watching The Wide World of Sports. Knievel’s jumps, as tough as they have been then, what these young guys do today is so much more than what was done then.
@mumbles215

Evel is still the best. True legend. 500 pound bikes with no shocks really. I Belive he only broke 40+ bones. Surprisingly. Shoot I am at 15 + myself but not he bones old evel broke.
🙏🏼
I didn't see any motocross
Ride In Peace brother.
Darwinism anyone? Ridiculous.
There's this guy who invented a body air bag..it inflates flawlessly 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Did you really edit in a downed super cross rider?
This is not motocross. These are stunts performed by guys who (usually) are not winning motocross riders. Ruin your own "sport," leave us out of it.
So unfortunate... RIP 🙏🏼
Bet he doing quad flips now!❤
The fearless are fascinating. Imagine how strong you would have to be, to be their partner in life. So much respect for all of them!! Bless you 🙏🌹
That’s not motocross track
JO gotta love that nick. He. like most, is not as good as they thought they were.
we miss you jayo you 😢😢😢🙏🙏
motocross use to be a poor mans sport. now you need to be able to afford it to even compete. you use to be able to buy a stock bike and start racing. now you need to prove yourself and mod your bike to copete.

Stay away from this guy...purchased some of his templates and was a total rip-off. Just an up-seller selling junk.
Blah, blah, blah....................
“Join us, as we unveil the catastrophic details of Archer’s life, and the nearly unbelievable story of his death”…… 😂😂 Umm…. Pretty sure your AI got that backwards.
I've raced motocross most of my life and have rode recreationally with all the big names everyone is familiar with I knew all these guys when they were young, I don't see a lot of KTM on jumping stuff. The compression and decompression forks on the front kick you funny off the lip of the jump. Most likely where this one went wrong. You have clickers top and bottom of your fork to slow or speed up compression and rebound, KTM, one of the many reasons that bike sucks has compression and rebound on opposite forks. you can put a brace on your forks to help keep your forks from flipping funny off the jump, but it only helps, doesn't eliminate it. You can even see on a couple still shots the bike is a little sideways. On that kind of jump, having to correct that is a big deal. the only way a person would ride one on that level, getting a really good deal. They probably would have never sold one of those piece of craps if Guy cooper wasn't promoting those at the beginning. they just got some big riders to ride them. they all had to carry a few extra rear shocks also, maybe they got that bug worked out but I doubt it. The whole bike sucks though. I wish this guy would've been on Suzuki or Honda, this would've never happened
a legend gone to soon RIP!
He has the body of a god too! This is coming from a man
RIP
I would attempt the triple back flip to have a GF even nearly that beautiful, and i have never even been on a motorbike
I can't believe this😢
Chased his dreams, worked hard and disciplined. What more can you ask for in life.
Nope. I can’t do it. I’ve already listened to one of your AI generated Scripps and it’s too much. The stories are telling are very interesting but the way you tell them is overbearing and too much. Try writing your script yourself or at least dial back on the embellishments in your AI program.
That was a good-looking young dude. He must have had any woman in whom he had an interest.
So sorry to hear. Blessing to the family and friends.
There's no cage on a dirt bike....RIP. HE KNEW THE RISK...
