2024 Royal Enfield Himalayan (The Quick Summary Beta) | MotorInc First

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hey MotorInc Family! This is an experiment. For the small number of you who think MotorInc First is too long, we extracted this quick summary from the end of the 2024 Royal Enfield Himalayan episode. Tell us what you think of this as a standalone alternative to MotorInc First for those of you who do not want to see the full episode. FWIW, when we did ask you a few weeks ago, nearly 70% of you voted for the current length of MotorInc First as either fine, or that even longer episodes were definitely a good idea.
~
MotorInc First is a discussion between experts Kartikeya Singhee and Shumi (Shubhabrata Marmar), co-founders of MotorInc on new vehicles. Each episode will discuss one vehicle in great detail, covering the experience of driving or riding it, as well as what it means for the industry. This is a quick summary of the full episode.

You guys rock! I have started watching your videos recently and I must say that this is one of the best youtube channels I have ever watched. Everything is topnotch; quality, content, presentation, editing, graphics, camera angles, nice studio, outdoor locations, and above all two really passionate presenters. Cheers to you guys!! Shumi I liked your summary, it reminded me Kartikeya summarizing Triumph Scrambler 400X ❤ I have a request, please make a video of Triumph Scrambler 400x detailed review and if possible comparison with new Himalayan. As good as this summary is, I still love the longer version as one gets to see the love for motorcycles both Kartikeya and Shumi have. I took a test ride today on the new Himalayan 450. The engine truly stood out; it's noticeably smoother and more powerful, especially in terms of torque, with a distinct pumping sensation at initial RPMs. The suspension feels comfortable, and the brakes are significantly improved compared to the 411. Additionally, it's much friendlier for shorter riders like me (165cm). I had the opportunity to ride a machine that's continually used for testing, and amazingly, no heating issues were found. I consider the price reasonable, although I'm eagerly anticipating the tubeless version."

*just my personal opinion* The longer more detailed and discussed videos are what i associate motorinc with. I understand and my assumption is this is to cater to the greater masses . I do hope you stick to the longer videos as I love them and I feel it is what defines you guys and differentiates you guys from the masses. I always found motorinc focussing on quality rather than the quantity that needs catering to. Kudos for this attempt I do hope it helps bring in more viewers. Really love your work . If it works good for you....if it doesn't...still waiting for the next detailed LONG !!! Review/ first ride

@@motorinc I'm expecting 15-20% rise in the prices which is reasonable because it's a completely new platform and so many new things are added.. however I'll wait for 2nd or 3rd batch.. and was saving for the past whole year along with my housing savings.. have saved about 2lacs just for the vehicle.. I'm happy with current vehicles.. an activa and a i10Nios. Whenever I wanted to have fun.. I would rent a vehicle and see what's in it.. and after riding the himalayan.. I fell in love with the adv nature..and now the dream's gonna come true soon!!

I love your discussions, and solo performances from both of you, mostly 10/10. Difficult to say that for the motorcycle without riding it in actual. Having owned Himalayan for first 4 years riding approx 50k kms and upgrading to Suzuki V-Strom 650 (3yrs+ & 27k kms) I would be happy to find it somewhere in between. Only thing concerns me is an over square engine from a company that has been known for long stroke torquey motors.

And this one makes me feel good about my initial thoughts 😀 I still feel 20-30min is an apt duration for sharing most thoughts/feelings. Or may be for every hour long discussion (or anything over 40min), there can be a similar follow up video which could be 10min or so with the most imp details from the longer one.

I think we need both formats, the summary and the analysis, not everyone has the time to listen to the whole thing, but the finer details usually come out in the analysis, which I personally prefer. I have ridden the OG for a very short distance and that was the BS3 and i liked it back then. This one I am totally in love with, since I havent really seen one in person let alone ride it, I really cant say how I would rate it. I am not planning to buy one, but really looking forward to atleast riding one. just over a day to go for the prices, I just hope its as low as they can logically price it. I hope this flies off the shelf (which is almost hard not to happen) just so that the competition takes notice and does something with their bike. I wish Hero also takes notice and may be provide a more potent competitor in the 400/440 guise.

Hey guys, I got a question. Is it possible for the Himalayan ‘452’ to get upgrades like traction control and cruise control later on or does those things need to be built at the factory stage?

I really like your videos. You guys do a wonderful job. Keep going. I am looking for a bike under 4 lac. Currently using Hness. I am very disappointed about the way it delivers power. I need something with good low and midrange torque. Easy to overtake. Not planning for off-road. I am 5'11"

As always, great short video with no facies. The Himalayan 452 is a great answer and a much awaited treat from RE to all the adventure riders out there. But to be honest, I hate to call it an "Adventure" tourer/bike, not even the old himalayan. Its 21" front directly puts it to the more aggressive class of Dual Sport and Enduro. There's no doubt RE has another "world bike" in their shelves.,and this one is much to the likes of the extremely versatile Suzuki DRZ400.

  • @motorinc

Hey Sharad! Good point! The reason why we don't classify the Himalayan as a dual sport is because it doesn't have the aggression in its DNA at all

Summary 10/10 as always by Shumi sir, Q1)were there stalling issues in low rpms.in 1st or second gears{pointed out by Yammie noob, testing multiple models} Q2)while watching other motorcycle reviews,I liked the way Mr Shumi compared its performance to Duke's models(or similar counterparts )in same performance range which gave almost a clear idea what to expect(also prefer to know his firsthand experience)...it would be great to have that with this RE and other future reviews 😊 Thanks 👍 [Also long format is my preferred one to watch]

Took a test ride today of the Himalayan, low and mid range is quite good, topend performance is ok. I felt that the engine is not stressed to make the 40bhp power. I ride a KTM duke390 second gen and I'm spoiled by the topend rush. Do you think a piggyback ECU might add some more fun on the top end? Should I wait for upcoming 390 Adventure and the Adv based on Aprilla RS457 to make a decision?

Hey, sorry for asking something about the Suzuki V-strom in an RE Himalayan video. It's just I wanted to post this at the latest video of Motorinc's channel to anyone who can reply to and help me with this. I want to buy a V-strom, but my height is 5'3. Counter to what Shumi always advises, I can't learn the one leg riding yet. I also saw many people with 5'6 height having issues with height in KZread videos. But I also don't want to compromise on seat foam. So I was thinking about what if I lower the chassis by pushing it down more into the front fork, and set the rear suspension at the softest. Will it be enough to make it suitable for me? Will the riding experience be diminished significantly? My usage can lead to bad roads driving but not proper off-roader. PS:- somedays back I test rode the latest gen KTM Duke 390 and I was tip-toeing very comfortably.

@shumi sir I dont know if you would answer this for me, Im an existing 411 owner and i love the idea of having this bike in my garage mainly because of its enhanced touring capacity and the tubeless wheels, not to mention all the bells and whistles that it comes with. If I sell the 411 and buy the new one I will have to invest another 150k minimum. Then I question my choice and wonder would it be wise to invest in the new one because of the hype and marketing or shall I invest that much money in fuel and tour on my current 411 OG Himalayan, someone please answer this for me.
