Ben, yes, please do a comparison with the Hemi. Comparison under load, such as towing, would also be helpful. Thank you.
A year ago I test drove a V6 Crew cab big horn. I was very satisfied with the performance. Plenty of passing power and I didn’t plan on towing anything. It seemed like a solid, well built truck. We couldn’t make a deal so I walked.

@@mikeyg9833 sorry for the late reply. We were at $48k drive off. I’ve since bought a V8 Chevy and saved 4k.
Hey Ben, I really like your videos, I can feel how much effort you put in every video. Posting video everyday is not easy, so thank you Sir. Keep up the good work,
Good ol’ Pentastar, tried and true.
I have a 2021 Ram 1500 Warlock quad cab with the all terrain package. Came with the V6 and 3:55 rear end. Gearing surely makes a difference. Not as peppy as my old 1997 Ram Sport with the 318 engine , but I have no real complaints. Does what I need it to do. Thanks for the videos, great content as always.
It does. I worked for a company who erroneously bought a tradesman with a V6 to use for road calls. They put a commercial size air compressor in the bed with spare tires for trucks and trailers. The dealer voided the warranty when they brought the truck in for service. But it got the job done. Once a truck broke down and the mechanics were a short distance away from the truck dealership where it was supposed to go for repairs they took that pickup overloaded with commercial equipment and tools and towed it to the shop. So yeah it will get the job done. For light or medium duty with proper maintenance it will keep right on going.
You're not getting old and boring, Ben lol. You've probably got more experience behind a vast array of vehicles than most of us. The v6 surprised me and I decided to go with it in my Gladiator over the diesel.
That's a great truck all around! Great daily driver, love it! Definitely would love to see a side by side comparison video!
Thanks Ben, this truck still exceed most of our actual needs. After watching it’s back in my consideration.

I'm a light tower a few times a year, and I care about fuel economy, this is interesting.
This seems like an honest, no frills pickup truck. Someone will enjoy this for daily driving with hauling things around, occasional towing, and with the 4X4 system it will do well in bad weather conditions.

I'm evaluating this engine. I would love a V8, however price matters, and reality is I tow a 3k boat about 10 miles roundtrip, as well as a lawnmower on a utility trailer- heavy duty stuff :) Fuel economy looks good.
We have a 2019 ram 1500 quad cab tradesman all of us three fit we don’t need any thing bigger I love that I have the 5.7 liter hemi
I've this truck in red w/Warlock page, love the truck! Most I'll tote is recyclables to the town recycling center or an occasional oversized purchase of a fridge, TV, furniture of some type & look good doing it! Got mine for much much less than 51k, I'm sure anyone can depending on region & how long it's been on the lot. Mine was 150 days....
The v6 is such a great value. My fear is that I would get the v6 for the value but always think while driving it, ughhh I should’ve forked out the extra 5k & got the hemi.
So I have a 22 tradesman with a v6. Just wanted to point out that the warlock and those cool tires decrease the payload over 100 lbs. Standard 17 in tires do 1750 lbs or so
I think its perfectly adequate for 90% of what people might actually want to use it for. It isn't as optimal for towing, but it will take your motorboat to the lake, it will take your horse or Cow to the vet on occasion, it will haul lumber or a bed full of mulch. But for the love of God, get in the cheapest trim available. Don't pay $50000 for this truck.
I'm a Masshole here, it's a saying we have for people that live in Massachusetts, Lol! I'd love to see a comparison between the Hemi and the V6, love your channel BTW
Have a 2022 crew cab with the Pentastar. Truck has been great for a run around rig. Tows my 3500# boat no problem. Unloaded milage hiway is 22 at 70 mph, in town right around 19 to 20.
kool review, ty for sharing this one ... honestly if they ditched the auto start / stop + etoruqe it save couple hundreds off msrp and actually make this a decent truck to live with ...
I would love to see a comparison with the 5.7 hemi. Thanks.
I have this truck, the pentastar puts out 300hp which lugs my 22ft travel trailer with ease. The company work truck I drive has the hemi, and more importantly the company gas card.
would love this in crewcab w/6'4" bed
I have the 5.7, would like to see a comparison. I'm easy on the gas, get average of 18mpg, but glad I have the torque of a V8 for towing and hauling. Would like to see a 4x4 performance comparison.
I had one with the 3.21 rear and I didn’t like it. Never got the advertised mpgs unless you were on flat ground under 65 and not using cruise. It barely ever stayed in 8th and you could always hear it down shift. Power was ok, mpg was ok, I would go with the Hemi.
the only upgrades I would add to the truck is heated seats and steering wheels and LED Headlight.. I have a V6 now and it 8 years old . It has all the options I really need for a truck. If you do a comparison do a HEMI Warlock to a V6 Warlock though

No you don’t need led headlights the halogens are just as good
I would chose the v8 any day
my 1999 Ram with the V6 was great albeit it was regular cab short box
2019 warlock 3.6 4x4with 33 inch tire and 3:21 gears average 22.5 mpg , tows my trailers (4500lbs) just fine. My 2wd 5.7 with 3:55 gears and 32 inch tires average 14 mpg .
That ZF 8 Speed makes everything strong enough. Personally I have one in my V6 300 and that thing Shifts so quick and clean, while feeling a kick from each shift, makes the car feel zippy and more powerful than it's probably rated at.
I hope you can go to the Ride and Drive for the new hurricane motor when it becomes available
Could you compare the Ram Warlock to the F150 STX since they’re both appearance packages on work trucks?
AHAHA... Best picture on 0:34 V6 looks funny
Yes, I'd enjoy a Hemi/Petastar comparo, including more commentary on the V6 with and without the 3.55 final drive ratio. I don't have plans to tow or haul anything of consequence, but one commenter with a 3.55 said "gearing makes all the difference," so I'd appreciate some discussion on the pros and cons. For instance, is there perceptible improvement in acceleration...and what kind of MPG penalty can I expect with the 3.55? Thanks for another good review, Ben!

I have the 3.55 and gas mileage takes a toll.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I would expect lower gas mileage with the 3.55 (but, in return offer a livlier response to pedal input during city and suburban driving. Still, the more I consider how I will use my first-ever full-size pickup, I think the 3.21 will better serve the vast majority of my needs, which will include an abundance of highway driving. Cheers.
Waiting to see if they will offer the 3l in base model wt or classic and in base Durango
6:25 I would definitely watch that.
Very nice ram like it you can go have fun with it
Im torn between this V6 Warlock and the Hemi SXT model right now for $5k less. I need the Quad Cab for work, and the extra bed space, but for whatever reason Ram only sells the Quad cab Warlocks with a V6 or those are all I can find at least.
So what is the powerwagon getting for an engine or is it just discontinued?
When I bought my 21v8bighorn,I also test drove the 6,I thought the 6was slow and sluggish compared to to the quickness of the 8
I think I’d rather have the v6 instead of the new straight 6 twin turbo I think the v6 will be more reliable I prefer the hemi I have a 2015 with the hemi with 225000 on it and never had any issues
I had a hemi and then I got a v6 after. It's a ram. Thats all I have to say. You'll be pleased with how much gas money you save and it does what you want. I love my bighorn more than my hemi. The hemi is fun but it's not necessary
Compare the Ram base V6 with the GM base 2.7
This is more than what 99% of people need.. but they all want more. F250s not that long ago came with less hp and did endless amounts of work. Towing isn’t a race coming from someone who has done it for several million miles.
2024 warlock vs 2024 custom vs 2024 stx comparison
The lack of a normally aspirated V8 just kills this truck for me. If a notch up in trim with the v6 is an option then I could go for that. I don't tow much and to be honest mostly I use a truck for trips to the home store or warehouse club but it serves as a family car with AWD / 4WD. Every vehicle I own currently has a turbo and I have a hard time trusting the longevity...
@nateoconnell5404

The hemi is a naturally aspirated v8…and you can easily find a Big Horn with the pentastar v6
How much does it tow ?
Can it accelerate when towing a boat? That is the real question. Or is this just a city truck!
I just want to know if it’s reliable?
Please compare 3.6 to 5.7. Actually fuel economy. Thanks
I used to think my Fox body with 225hp was crazy fast. This truck 85 more hp. Also no tick tick tick.
2024 Ram 1500 Tradesman 3.6L V6 eTorque 8-Speed Automatic Warlock Special Edition Quad Cab 4X4!
There fine till you try to tow it just doesn't enough torque. Sad the hemi is gone in the 1500. This engine will be in the 25s also.
The reason these don’t sell isn’t the look or performance, it’s price and options. This should be a 38k truck. Basic cloth interior, halogen lights, like he said work truck like interior and the v6 and still 51k. Not knocking the v6 I’m sure it’s durable and plenty powerful but not what most people are going to want. No thx. These will keep stacking up on the lots unless you can get 5-7k off them and it’s still too expensive at that point in my opinion. Nice truck for sure just overpriced. I don’t see how what they are offering costs that much. I know trucks have gone up across the board but I believe Dodge/Chrysler is still among the top priced ones today and completely out of touch with their customer base and price points. At this point they are just gouging the consumer.
305 horse power is the same as midsized pickups. I purchased the F-150 with the 3.5 Ecoboost. 400 horsepower and nearly 500 ft. Lb. Torque. Which one do you think will give you more? Ram tows 7660 vs the Ford 13,000.

I'd put my money on the 3.6 pentastar lasting much longer than the ecoboost. Towing 13k lbs with a 1/2 ton sounds like a terrible idea. That's 3/4 ton territory.
Compare this to the F150 3.3 V6

and of course this is the last year for the Hemi as well. Interested to see how the Hurricane 6 is going to do as its replacement.@@cyborg2048
No, not for work. Better that the four-banger with the turbo, though (I think GM is doing that).
No way that 50k man that should be 35k or 40k max wow

Gotta love Ram but I like the V8
Crazy pricing for a V6.
The resale value on these v6 rams is awful compared to the hemi. If you’re dropping this much money for a truck, just spend a little more and get the v8
@Lq32332

Ya it makes the V6 a good deal if you are buying used but not great for whoever bought new.
51k for a bare bones truck. No way. Quad cab is a no deal for me. Back seat is WAY TOO SMALL!!! Not comfortable at all. Does the Warlock have the bigger back seat?
I see ads now for 30k
This truck will work if your not doing any serious towing.
Always get the v8!
Judging the 10-2 driving. Other than that good video

They aren’t fast but the pentastar is the most reliable engine Stellantis makes. The Hemi’s are trash.
