Great podcast! Thank you so much for presenting this! Very informative and intriguing! For example, as a huge fan of Holland, it's interesting that teams expected more growth and development from his high school days while being placed in an outsized role this year. I thought the context would have more weight and I also thought teams would be more willing to wait on this very young 18-year-old to keep improving. I guess it has to do with whoever else could be at spots who are better shooters, etc. I know there are a massive amount of wings in this draft.

Why should fans pay cable prices to watch a 18, 19, 20 year old player develop? Did Portland have to pay high prices for Lillard to be an NBA player?

I've heard the NBA isn't very good at developing guys with low floors and role player ceilings. I think it's a strong possibility that the only guys from this draft we'll see longterm are the guys with high floors, ready to play out the gate, and those with high ceilings that were given the time to develop in teams like the Spurs, Blazers, and Wizards.

Memphis Grizzlies need a true center. Edey’s probably better than most of the free agent 5’s for whom Memphis would be a realistic destination, and on a rookie contract, likely better value.

Love it. Funny I feel like I was the first one on the Enrique Freeman train this year... glad to see he's getting buzz... totally agree with AJ Johnson and Dillon Jones.

If a team wants to be sure, then go for one of two qualities: 1) high basketball IQ 2) High aggression/mamba mentality. Notice, I made no mention if athleticism (favorite front office/NBA analysts buzz word). Reason, the two arguably best NBA players Luka & Joker are one of the least athletic players in the NBA yet they over compensate for it with high basketball IQ Kobe Bryant wasn't athletic like MJ but he had MJs killer mentality on court & in training. So, look at this "weak" draft and find the players with these qualities and pick them.

As a Wiz fan, I'm hoping the Wiz trade Kuzma or trade down from 2 to get Holland. From what I've read, they had nothing resembling a creator-- so they asked Holland to do it. If the shot comes around, he could be Kawhi 2.0.

Kawhi has a 7’3 wingspan and weighed 227lbs at the combine. Holland 6’10 wingspan and 197lbs. I like Holland but a Kawhi comparison is wild Ron is not that physical and Kawhi developed into being able to shoot mid ranges with ease over anyone I don’t see that for Holland but he can be very good

He says he is studying SGA to learn how to use finesse and countermoves to score despite a skinnier frame… I think ppl calling him a 3 and D project player or future Jaden McDaniels type are off on his upside. His handle and driving ability gives a lot to work worth and he can pass Jaden McDaniels can’t do any of that and is slower/stiffer but I also don’t think Cody has Jaden’s defensive upside

I wish these people knew the roster of the Hawks before making this asinine comment. With all due respect to this woman the Hawks have six wing players already on their roster. In fact, they have a Risacher already own their roster in the name of Jalen Johnson who would be the number one pick in this draft. Drafting Richaser would be a wasted pick. Sarr makes the most sense for the Hawks and it is Sarr who has the most upside. At worst Sarr will make a few All NBA Defensive Teams and he can defend 1-5. Trade the pick for what and for whom, some washed up veteran player. I bet if the Spurs had the number one pick they would foaming at the mouth talking about the potential said player teaming up with Wemby. Richaser is a player who can't shoot and lacks NBA wing athleticism she would take first, yeah right! All of you keep that same energy.
