Krysten is in the 99th percentile of draft analysts out there. Truly a delight to have on the pod.
Krysten Peek on No Ceilings.. I'm never getting to sleep. Hopefully I'll get some Da'Ron Holmes talk.

Thanks for checking it out!
Can anyone explain how The Thompson Twins were both top 5 picks in a “great draft” but Ron Holland, who’s an athletic freak and plays D “can’t shoot well enough” so he might be dropping out of the lottery ???

Im a Cody believer and would be pretty happy if spurs get him at 8, alongside Castle or Sheppard at 4
Topic to Miami at 15
Great podcast! Thank you so much for presenting this! Very informative and intriguing! For example, as a huge fan of Holland, it's interesting that teams expected more growth and development from his high school days while being placed in an outsized role this year. I thought the context would have more weight and I also thought teams would be more willing to wait on this very young 18-year-old to keep improving. I guess it has to do with whoever else could be at spots who are better shooters, etc. I know there are a massive amount of wings in this draft.

Why should fans pay cable prices to watch a 18, 19, 20 year old player develop? Did Portland have to pay high prices for Lillard to be an NBA player?
I've heard the NBA isn't very good at developing guys with low floors and role player ceilings. I think it's a strong possibility that the only guys from this draft we'll see longterm are the guys with high floors, ready to play out the gate, and those with high ceilings that were given the time to develop in teams like the Spurs, Blazers, and Wizards.

Who might take Edey in the lottery?

Memphis Grizzlies need a true center. Edey’s probably better than most of the free agent 5’s for whom Memphis would be a realistic destination, and on a rookie contract, likely better value.
Great guest, and nice takes here... Krysten Peek imo was a better guest than Jeremy Woo the other day... (invite both of them back of course) But, she has some true conviction with her outlooks. Love it. Funny I feel like I was the first one on the Enrique Freeman train this year... glad to see he's getting buzz... totally agree with AJ Johnson and Dillon Jones.
Let’s be honest OKC dropped the ball not keep Lively 😂 don’t say Cason was good

if wallace could shoot. . . wallace will be better than giddy, me thinks. i have been wrong before
If a team wants to be sure, then go for one of two qualities: 1) high basketball IQ 2) High aggression/mamba mentality. Notice, I made no mention if athleticism (favorite front office/NBA analysts buzz word). Reason, the two arguably best NBA players Luka & Joker are one of the least athletic players in the NBA yet they over compensate for it with high basketball IQ Kobe Bryant wasn't athletic like MJ but he had MJs killer mentality on court & in training. So, look at this "weak" draft and find the players with these qualities and pick them.
Edey is a can’t miss, bona fide, franchise-altering superstar

@@rayh3391 Jonas was younger and less developed when he came into the league. Bad hands, no outside shot, not the paint beast he turned out to be. Edeys per 36 stats next year will be what JVs was in his prime, and he will hit 28 or 29 PER as a rookie.
As a Wiz fan, I'm hoping the Wiz trade Kuzma or trade down from 2 to get Holland. From what I've read, they had nothing resembling a creator-- so they asked Holland to do it. If the shot comes around, he could be Kawhi 2.0.

Kawhi has a 7’3 wingspan and weighed 227lbs at the combine. Holland 6’10 wingspan and 197lbs. I like Holland but a Kawhi comparison is wild Ron is not that physical and Kawhi developed into being able to shoot mid ranges with ease over anyone I don’t see that for Holland but he can be very good

@CarloBarlo69 yeah, I've become way more comfortable with Portland's picks as we've gotten closer to the draft.
The wizards are letting tyus jones go they traded gafford they have no bench they want to tank for the 1st pick and win 11 games next year...they will take topic and let him recover
Sorry, but Cody is going 5 to the Pistons.

He says he is studying SGA to learn how to use finesse and countermoves to score despite a skinnier frame… I think ppl calling him a 3 and D project player or future Jaden McDaniels type are off on his upside. His handle and driving ability gives a lot to work worth and he can pass Jaden McDaniels can’t do any of that and is slower/stiffer but I also don’t think Cody has Jaden’s defensive upside

I wish these people knew the roster of the Hawks before making this asinine comment. With all due respect to this woman the Hawks have six wing players already on their roster. In fact, they have a Risacher already own their roster in the name of Jalen Johnson who would be the number one pick in this draft. Drafting Richaser would be a wasted pick. Sarr makes the most sense for the Hawks and it is Sarr who has the most upside. At worst Sarr will make a few All NBA Defensive Teams and he can defend 1-5. Trade the pick for what and for whom, some washed up veteran player. I bet if the Spurs had the number one pick they would foaming at the mouth talking about the potential said player teaming up with Wemby. Richaser is a player who can't shoot and lacks NBA wing athleticism she would take first, yeah right! All of you keep that same energy.
