2024 Mercedes E-Class Review: Watch out BMW
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is arguably the most important model in the German company's line-up. Sitting between the C-Class and flagship S-Class, it is a rival to the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6, and aims to beat both with a combination of luxury and technology.
In this CarGurus UK review, Vicky Parrott tests the plug-in hybrid E300e version of the E-Class, which is available in saloon or estate body styles and has a real-world electric-only range of more than 60 miles (against a claimed range of 72 miles). Could it be the perfect company car?

Remind me looking at your phone whilst driving is illegal yet on this massive screen you have to take your eyes off the road to change the temperature...madness...physical buttons please

You talk to the car she does everything for you videos don’t tell you that
I've had every generation of E Class in the estate, and a few convertible models. Mercedes started dramatically increasing their prices in recent years and this is out of reach for me now

Apparently they have made a strategic decision to increase prices and reduce volume in an effort to move models from what is termed “Premium” to “Luxury” much like Porsche etc. and have priced a chunk of the market out of buying the brand as a result.
2:56 3:52 the way those panels move when you press them screams PREMIUM QUALITY. Give it a couple of months and it will start creaking too, like a typical modern Merc.

It’s a capacitive touch button dummy. It’s designed to depress as a single button would to give feedback.
@z00h

@@jaymum23 yeah, except that's not how haptic feedback works - a piece moving like that is making the feedback worse. It sounds like you work for their QC department.

@@z00h I'll definitely be interested to see if it starts creaking. Had a 2019 C63 and the whole dash was creaky AF.

Wether it is capacitive or not. It doesn’t look great.
@jaymum23

@@z00h No, that’s literally how it works. You’ve never had a laptop with this type of button? It’s an asinine argument. Might as well say that traditional buttons will creak when they depress (which they do) and all cars with them are cheap.
Good for Mercedes offering diesel options unlike BMW in the UK with their new 5 series
It needs the hood ornament to be a proper merc...

Hey Car gurus, Just checked your youtube, really great stuff. I was wondering are you looking for a short or long form video editor ? Or Whole KZread management ?
Love this car ,thanks Vikki 👍
Awesome E class😊😊😊
if it's too complicated for you to change the temperature from the infotainment screen, you can use the voice command
I thought the exclusive trim was the top spec with the real leather?
”Screenage”! 😊 Fitting word. Not a bad looking car, seems Merc are in good form once more
Those screens are too much, it's lost its luxury ambience, fail for me

I would say the opposite, they made digital screens look really posh.
She's so no nonsense. I just love her reviews
This is the second KZread reviewer saying the “E class” badge is around since 1993. But I have a 1989 E class with a very clear badge that says 260 E. And before that we had a 240E from 1984. So I don’t understand the KZreadrs for their 1993 reference???
@keetswheels

in 1993 the e moved to the front of the numbers... . thats possibly what they are referring to
@danielericsson8478

”E” used to mean fuel injection. You could get a 200D with the same body as your 260E.
Love the car not the price..way too expensive for my liking.

and you be buying a new engine before 80k
It would be the Diesel for me. Very apprehensive to touch anything with a battery considering how EV prices are tanking.
Clicked the thumbs up before even looking at the video - love your reviews
One of the most popular, but overpriced Taxis in the world.
it would be the 6 pot diesel for me ^^
What happens to the fossil fuel you are not using if travelling only by electric most of the time. Does it decay or good for several months?
Having seen the mercs around a bit now and wondering which would stand out over the decade - I think the w213 to 2019 got it right. They still look good. All the newer ones you can barely tell what they are. Very bland.
The estate is gorgeous❤❤

I agree. Ive got one. Does more than you expect and is super frugal with the fuel.
on a par with its 'colluding' rivals???
Once again we here in the UK get short changed with the options compared to our neighbours on the mainland, maybe it's time to bite the bullet & move over to driving on the right hand side of the road.
This interior dash should've been used on the new v-class
Such a Shame no Diesel ⛽️ PHEV currently?
Top no comparison with 5 series BMW can’t compare. I have this car just got it love it
If i want the exclusive trim on a e220d i have to pay an additional option pack that costs 11614 € with options i even don't like. What the hell. 😠

Price has seen a massive increase
$80,000 for a 4 cylinder. $90,000 for a 6 cylinder What you pay for in computer tech you lose on engine tech and power.
My dream car ❤
It's a good thing that there's so many far cheaper good cars out there these days because these cars are so expensive that people who could once afford an E can no longer do so. It somehow makes it less interesting than when they used to launch a new version in the past.
I drove a BMW for 9 years. Recently looked at the 5 series and the new E class Merc.. I decided on an Audi A6. 🙈 The designs have me bothered. 😕
let me be blunt... as a Mercedes fanboy for over 40 years, it really kills me that recent Mercedes models are sooooo..... well.... not un-ugly. :(

I recently commented on the quality of materials used and the question of reliability. I am a good BMW but I admire Mercedes Benz interiors of past cars main in the 90s and the amount of engineers that went into developing them. Now they are losing the things that made them special. Specially, back to engineering some of the Mercedes Benz cars have Renault engines and fake exhaust tips. I pay respects to Mercedes Benz engineers and fans, and Renault’s as well. But let’s think about the X Class for a moment. I think I do not have to say much. I was confused but interested to see how that was going to work. I feel your pain. But I think it is the age we live in. Marketing is king. BMW are going through their design issues and at time like these I look forward to being amazed by Mercedes Benz design and engineering but currently I can’t. Compact class I would choose BMW e46 and Mercedes Benz Class w204, Middle sized Mercedes Benz w124 and w211, BMW e39 and F10, g30 Large Class Mercedes Benz S Class w140, w221 and w222. BMW 7 series from the 90s On Audi, S4/S5 b8/b8.5, Audi A8 d3/d4, Audi A6/S6/A7/S7 C7 and Audi A6/S6 C8.

This car's styling is dating already. I really liked it when it was first revealed last year and I thought it looked really good, but to me now it just looks a bit old fashioned and over fussy. And all those Merc three pointed star references everywhere are just too much and somewhat embarrassing. Unbelievable that you can't get air suspension either in the UK. Is this just for the hybrid? Anyway, I was hoping to finally change my 2018 E class for a new one after not wanting to go for the hideous restyle that came around 2021, but I not going to, as I just love my car's unfussy, elegant styling and those gorgeous, simple rear lights with their double bar LED's. So classy. I will happily turn 70K reliable miles so far into double that over the next six years and wait for the next restyle.

This is probably the last "E Class" the way we know it. They'll just discontinue this and call the EQE the new "E Class" by the time this generation comes to an end.
Exterior needs an AMG makeover.
App 100 Mercedes badges too much for me...😵💫🤨
Over €100k……….
Headlights by KIA, tail lights by Chevrolet - a missed opportunity.
These head and rear lights not as nice and bold as the previous E class...interior too
Why the gotee mustache are the grill? Also why is Mercedes making every car swoops and round looking? I miss the older designs
"Slightly reduced version of S class Hyperscreen..." is called Superscreen.
The front is not pretty.Its ugly with two large holes which can contain a cat each.
Exterior is soo ugly
This thing kills the 5 series now
Anyone else think too much screen? Really? People like this sort of thing?
The next gen 5 n E class are the worst designs yet...A6 still looks better.
All downsize engines, whats there to watch out for bmw? Bmw already has the better and bigger engines
Having had and admired Mercedes for now eight decades current designs are anodyne and utterly unappealing jelly moulds and gross. No individuality simply cad designs.
Really bland to look at.
Bad engine, poor warranty!!Don't Buy it better off with a Japanese brand
Don't care about the electric
Looks cheap. Toyota has better design.
