Can you do a review on the Model Y RWD ?
As a current Mazda CX9 owner, frankly speaking CX90 is comprehensively improved, but only 2 Negatives points stopped my upgrade plan. 1: The second row headroom space is more narrow than CX9. 2: 8AT transmission shifting gears is frustrating than CX9 6AT, especially 1-2-3. Slower gear changes than CX9 6AT as well. Hopefully Mazda could hear about this and improve it.
Mazda continues to raise the bar. They are out doing other brands in its class, giving you premium quality and great driving dynamics. They make you question if you should get a BMW or a Mercedes. This is what a great car is for the money. This CX-90 is definitely a double looker. I’m impressed by Mazda and now I’m anticipating the CX-70’s reveal.

Darn, can I swear? That Mazda CX90 is sweet. The Germans have some serious competition now, when an automaker make you want to choose their brand over the competition you know they are doing something right.

I was driving a 2014 BMW 3.20 before... Now I'm driving a 2020 Mazda 3 sport GT, never felt like I downgraded and it is far better for my pocket....
Definitely get BMW vibes from CX-90
The transmission is not all about off-the-line snappy. But rolling starts...the CX-90 keeps up with the Germans pretty well (another KZread channel sorted that out).
Mazda CX-90 is the best shaped SUV out right now for 2024
Here in the UK we have the CX60 and I'll say it really is a great looking car with a lovely high quality interior and it drives brilliant. Yes the engine and transmission may not be as polished as its German rivals but its not far off and for the price (considerably cheaper than its German rivals) its a no brainer. You get a lot of equipment and features as standard.
So far (1000 miles) out is great. I quibble over some features that need tuning but the driving is very nice. I feel very confident with the rear biased AWD and that’s a big compliment coming from a guy with three Subaru’s. The body stays fairly flat in corners and the cabin is quiet. P.S. pulling a chord to drop the rear seats is WAY better than pushing a button and waiting for them to lower. Our sequoia has the push buttons to raise and lower the seats. They took forever to move and I was always concerned about those little motors breaking. The Mazda pull rope might not feel as premium but they work much better.

As small of a thing is as the button for the seats in the back, that was a big reason I bought a Telluride over a Palisade. I liked the Palisade interior better, and at first the car wasn't attractive to me until I saw it in person. But I still preferred the Telluride exterior, and the chord to drop the backseat swiftly put it over the edge. I didn't want to wait if I was in a hurry, and figured a mechanical setup would break before a manual one.
Another Fantastic video as always! Been waiting for you to review this suv.
Beautiful car. And it will definitely be so much cheaper to own and much more reliable than a BMW.

There’s potential for Mazda’s maintenance cost to be less than BMW and Audi for sure. However if anything at all happens in regards to the engine and all associated with it’s functionality, the entire engine has to be removed. Another thing to note is that the battery acts as the alternator. ;there is no alternator. If the battery gets damaged it will all have to be replaced in order for the car to start and maintain power. The battery also acts as the starter, however the CX90 does have a backup standard starter in cases where the battery power output is too low. The reliability aspect is no question though!

Far and away the best looking most cohesive design of three row SUVs!
Waiting for the CX70!
The hinge of the trunk/boot is almost at 90 degrees, means it opens wide. The shape of the trunk lid however is curve an seems to limit the wideness of the opening.
I'm about to move to San Antonio, TX... when I visited there last month I rented an X5... it didn't have ventilated seats. It made me realize that I cannot possibly choose a car that doesn't have that feature... and afaik CX-90 is the only SUV that has ventilated seats in the second row. Easy winner since I have two kids.
I think they tuned the engine/trans the way it is for more economical use

Trying to decide between this color, machine gun metal and mica black
You must not have been listening to the tech description. It's doesn't have a torque converter,. It has a wet clutch and electric stator so you can't power brake it like a typical automatic.
The rear thing about buttons makes no sense. Most people who get cars like this don't use the 3rd row (if you did, you would get a Suburban) so a basic strap is pretty much 100x faster than any button. Buttons just means more gizmos that can break down.
This makes me excited for the CX-70!

All you gotta do is feel the emblem easy done Mazda. Lol. Smart thinking covering them. love the car but that part of the vent on the front dash sticks out n when I test drove it first thing I did was smack my knee on it. That would get old. That n not much storage bins and front is kinda bulbuse. Just somthing about the front it needs to be slightly boxier in front.
Whoever got to experience it, how do you guys like the fabric on the dashboard? Can it be replaced with leather panel?

It feels very premium. Our friends all compliment the interior, including the fake suede.
None are as good looking compared to CX-90. ❤
How reliable are the Engine and Transmission in these? I had a 2015 Explorer that had transmission issues at 26,000 miles. Traded in for a 2020 Ford Explorer that also had issue at 20k miles. But I thought maybe I was paranoid with the Jerky gear switches that I also had in 2015. So I waited it out. But then it wouldn't start breaking. Took it in at 26,000 miles and the whole Tranmission system had to be replaced. And now at 43,000 miles, it starting to do it again. To say the least. I'm done with the ford explorer. (I'm a Ford employee that's why I went with it twice) I'm interest by the CX90. But can people give me honest feedback on their past experiences with Mazda?
@ACCELER8TV
Жыл бұрын
This is a brand new engine from Mazda, so it’s impossible to say what the reliability will be like. They are only just getting to dealerships now. Mazda’s reliability as a whole is pretty good according to 2023 consumer reports.
The hidden exhaust, the bulbous tailgate, and overall length are misses. Everything else is pretty stunning.
fergus knows his madzas
Thats a key give away, all they need to do is feel the emblem.
Can you turn off the fake engine noise? I think a GV80 would be a really good comparison as well.
@jackykimes
Жыл бұрын
I tested two GV80’s before buying the CX-90. The first Genesis was the lower trim. It drove and sat great. The second one was the higher trim and oddly drove worse. That first Genesis drive was nice but I wouldn’t pay extra for it. Mazda’s biggest competitor is the Acura MDX. They trade blows back and forth but I got more car for my money with the CX-90.
Is that a karate white belt??

The reason you can't brake torque it is because the wet clutch and lack of a torque converter means the mild hybrid system is the thing that gets the car going. Can't really brake torque an electric motor.
Love your review, but I could do without the beginning blindfold test with everyone putting massive fingerprints all over the vehicle. "My OCD was going crazy, could barely watch that part lol"

They needed to spend more time outside man. All brands have a signature grille. They coulda deduced that it's NOT a BMW by the lack of the kidneys. I'd just feel the fuck out the front end and most likely have my guess from there. Only two brands that I think would trip me up would be Nissans and Audis cuz they got the same-ish front ends.
