Really love what they’ve done with that County spec. The colours, the details and yeah most of all those wheels. It’s got a retro vibe without the trying too hard look. I think they nailed the design of new Defender and this looks like the coolest yet

Honestly, if Land Rover were to facelift the new Defender, I could see them adding the traditional Land Rover/Range Rover grille and it wouldn't look out of place. And the more I look at that edit you made, the more I hope they do it at some point.

I dont hate them. Ive had the worlds best 1983 range rover as a hobby car. We had the current 110 in our work fleet. Speaking from my experience here in Aus the current 110 has issues and ive also had a current range rover as a company car and it broke down in the snow fields here. Ive just retired from the car auction industry after 37 years. New company car every 5000-15,000km. So ive seen plenty of landrover failures. The grenadier is the next problem car. Electrical issues and door seals faulty. The LR is a beautiful drive tho

Agree with you about the flat screen - my first 2020 Defender had the 10” screen my 2023 90 has the bigger screen that looks like is it an accessory from an auto store whereas the 10” is nicely integrated into the dash with no overlaps.

I called 2 Land Rover dealers. I owned 3 in the past and they were awful. Each one purchased brand new and unreliable. I want a new Defender. It's gorgeous but so tired of the concerns about reliability of the brand. It's just notorious. So, I spoke to 2 service managers at local dealers. Told them I'm considering buying one, and without being too protective of the brand, can they please tell me honestly about their experiences with the new Defender as far as reliability is concerned. Both said identical things. " If you get a good one, you can have the reliability of a Toyota, however, if you get a bad one, it can be absolutely awful." When I asked about the chances of a good one or a bad one are.... Both said about 70/30. %70 good, %30 bad. Not great odds, but I really love these things.

Don’t get me Wong i like JLR products and owned a few, also the new defender is a really cool luxury suv. But like other companies they have strayed way past the true core and resoné the Defender existed. Most farmers here in the uk carnt afford it nor is the military interested in it. Both a clear issues and were both the core customers and provers of the product. Know with the new defender its just another very capable luxury expensive SUV in a range of luxury suvs. For me it’s a shame and as time goes on the rep of being rugged used by military and farmers and other rugged jobs and uses. the reputation will decline into obscurity. And is a shame and is another example of companies abandoning their core base and heritage. Not saying lr carnt have luxury suv, but the range was very balanced it had options on both ends but know its prity much chasing the luxury high priced market. Just my opinion and worked around the farming industry and been in the military.

I mean, I own (not leased) a 2023.5 Defender 130 X-Dynamic SE... So yea I can afford it. @@johnzenkin1344 Its not some sort of industry secret that any land rover out of warranty will be a money pit. The bottom line is things do fail over time and it'll be expensive to repair when it does. I've been apart of all of the defender groups and forums and there are recurring issues though far fewer than I've noticed in the big boy Range Rovers. As a result. I did choose to buy one and a JLR Extended Warranty. I've no doubt I'll need it. I've had it for just under a year now and its already spent 4 weeks at the dealership to replace a heater core due to coolant leaking. Long term is anyone's guess. Its certainly built at a higher/tougher standard than your usual Land Rover, and has less crap added on than a Range Rover... so perhaps its the happy medicum. But between the expenses outta warranty that are inevitable and the resale values that plummet outta warranty... yea I do anticipate long term headaches. As I said above though. I love the damn thing and I dont regret the choice. I've just accepted the future headache that I'll likely have to endure and am prepared for it.

I bought a new 2023 P400 SE 110 about 6 months ago. To say I have buyers remorse would be an understatement. From the shoddy materials it's made from to the even worse assembly quality. The Pivi Pro infotainment system has apps and functions that refuse to work (i.e. Weather app), random computer system lockups, or in some cases, rebooting while driving! In 6 months, 8 dealer visits, in some cases requiring several days at the dealer. To my dealers credit, they did provide a nice Range Rover loaner in each case, so there is that. I wanted to like this vehicle, and I love the aesthetics of it... if only it had been designed and made in Japan. Walk, no run away from JLR to the nearest Lexus/Toyota dealer IMHO.

For a cost of above 3k. I wanted to buy an Evoque, but out of 4 mechanics, all told me to run. It's also problems with the EGR valve, it's also having to change the oil at a LR dealer every 10k km unless you want problems. It's a lot of stuff. Ofc if you lease it or are rich and only buy new, keep 3 years and 60k km and then sell it, then no problems, buy 2.

Due to that, i prefer the ugly Land Cruiser or Patrol or the very expensive G Wagon.

Ahhh no… just no…. LR/RR are all on the 2nd hand resale market, post manufacture’s warranty expiration… always were and are and that’s b/c they are not built like the Toyota LC /Lexus LX models… I know b/c I’ve spent my own moola on various brand new, RR, MB GL-AMG and BMW X5-M models and whilst nothing compares to my LC200 and LX600, even my Cadillac Escalade ESV has held up better than the aforementioned gussied-up EU pretenders, IMHO

Too bad it’s an over priced, over rated POS that will cost you a fortune in repairs.

What kind of an ignoramous would state that this suv had the best interior when it is absolute crap? The odd shifter is misplaced, the screens are too small, the trim is vulgar and the vents poorly placed. Yup, this narrator is perfectly fit to this terrible car, both a complete write off.
