I just bought a Black 2024 KIA Sorrento gas/electric hybrid EX, here in Toledo Ohio. Picking it up today soon.

We had a 2016 Hyundai Tucson Limited that had DCT issues to the point we gave up as it approached being a safety issue and traded it in for a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. We also had a 2017 Kia Sorrento SX which we traded in for a 2022 Kia EV6 GT-line as we were concerned about the fire issues. We enjoy all the upgraded features with both the Tucson and Sorrento which we didn’t find on other vehicles or it was much more expensive to get them. We’re considering trading our Honda Ridgeline for either the 2024 Kia Sorrento hybrid or the Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid for a road trip vehicle but now concerned about the DCT or turbo being still used and not reliable. We don’t like the 2024 Toyota or Honda options and haven’t been impressed with Mazda’s interior tech. As you mention, wish Hyundai and Kia could improve their engines to match with their style, features etc.!

Car is having a hard time starting today but it's a cold snap where we live. I'm not sure if it's the 10w oil or the starter is going out.. might switch back to 5w and see if it helps. Battery and alternator tested good at AutoZone. All I've had to change was coils at around 200k (slight misfire but not bad, replaced all 4), and a coolant hose that was leaking, besides that just regular maintenance. I haven't been able to get caught up yet because I've been busy with family and my car left me stranded today. I haven't given up on it though, just need to get it diagnosed and repaired. 216k miles as of today. I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving Kevin. Thank you for making so much content it will keep me busy.

When I saw it I thought of a Cadillac… I bought a white Sorento today!

Have a 2019 santa fe. Zero issues with nothing more than regular oil changes.

Im getting the new sorento v6 8 speed automatic- not dct 🎉

I had a 2021 sorento prestige AWD with turbo engine. Transmission went out at 12k miles. After they replaced the transmission, it felt like it was starting to slip again. I loved the car overall. The suspension was not great.

Will there be a PHEV Sorento in 2024 at all? Waiting for mine since August 2023.

Yes but the Plug-in Hybrid will be a 2025 model year vehicle

I have driven I have owned a Telluride and I have owned a Kia Sorrento X pro now I am trading in my ex pro to step up to the SXX pro prestige. I want to prestige so I am trading mine and for the prestige that’s how much I love Kia. My Kia dealership is one of the best Kia airport of Naples. They have been nothing but fantastic. This will make the third vehicle I have purchased from them, and, I think I bought one a month right now and I am going to get my my prestige. I can’t wait Monday.

Volvo? More Cadillac-esque, but why is the DCT such an issue? It’s a great looking vehicle, but the issues still make me hesitant to buy any KIA or Hyundai products.

Idk they but they issued some recalls and I’ve been getting various complaints in the comment section. Only good news is warranty is covering the problems

@@MeynMotorGroup That’s great the warranty covers the issue. DCTs have more moving parts, but they’re quite common for BMW, Audi, Ford, Porsche, etc. My guess is KIA hasn’t refined it well enough.

I have a 2020 sonata limited with 70k miles on it, only issues so far was the front driver seat. Gonna get a transmission flush soon though so we will see how it behaves after, but so far it has held up pretty well and I beat on it pretty hard, it sees hard acceleration and high speeds pretty often, so fingers crossed

I tested 23 PHEV which has 6 speed transmission and I loved it. Dint necessarily like the 23 hybrid as it was noiser and less power. For some reason KIA does not offer the $6500 government incentive. I am waiting for 2025 PHEV which should be out 2nd quarter and hoping KIA will offer the $6500 incentive

It really is and such a shame when these vehicles feel so nice to drive with great interiors. I really hope they come up with a proper drivetrain solution or perhaps they just want to shove us into EVs ASAP and purposefully leave these issues be so consumers grow tired I have no idea

@@MeynMotorGroupsadly they won’t EV this car yet because of the EV9 which covers the telluride and the sorento for the EV market. It is a real shame about the DCT and I hope they fix it.

I have a KIA Sorrento 2024 GT line.. what ever the issues they seem to have , KIA seems to have fixed it. Anyway we have 7 year unlimited warranty here in Australia so if an issue comes up we will take it as it goes. Apart from the DCT concerns this SUV is hands down better than any thing in the market in it;s category. Better to drive the Toyota, excellent suspension due to new frequency adaptive suspension added for YE 2024 model ie better than Mazda and more tech and luxury features that would shame a Chinese car, excellent build quality, . In short it seems like a very sorted product.

Well I know this is 4mo ago but he is wrong about the gauge cluster, every model from base to top have all digital display, a I locked at the LX and the S the other day and the base had digital display.
