2024 Hyundai Tucson Limited: So Much SUV for The Money!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today I share my thoughts on the 2024 Hyundai Tucson Limited. This is a great trim and for the money it is hard to find something better in this category. Let me know what you guys think.

Good video; thx. We just picked up a limited today. You missed one good selling point about the pullout cargo cover. We will more often fold the rear seats down for stowing cargo, but for valuable cargo we might want to use that cover once in a blue moon. The nice feature about that cover, is that it can be stowed away in a very wide space for it next to the spare tire which is out of the way, but available when needed. That's much better than most cars that have no place to put it other than in one's garage or house or getting in the way of other cargo in the back. Just a thoughtful touch of engineering.

Don't forget the nifty feature of having the Air Conditioning for the driver only. I drive the 2022 Tucson Hybrid unlimited....everything I wanted, with ventilated seats, mechanical AWD, hybrid engine with awesome pickup, but the cherry topping is its awesome LKAS and ACC. It can literally stop and start in bumper to bumper traffic, as well as manage very well on highways. I don't need to touch the accelerator at all due to its awesome ACC, and the LKAS does mot of the steering while I am just assisting sometimes. Now my long drives are near painless. It's like having a second driver. It may not be as great as Tesla, but owning a Tesla is a real pain for long drives with Family. And in short inner city drives, this SUV provides me with good enough mileage, considering the cost. People forget if not is not driving more than 10k miles in a year, one won't be saving any money on gas, even on hybrid, leave alone electric, thanks to the extra premium they are charged.

The Hybrid is Quieter More Horsepower More Torque Faster (significantly so, the ICE is a slug) Better gas mileage What's not to love? Ya, it costs a little more, but engine to engine there's ZERO advantage to the ICE Tucson over the Hybrid.

Your review was very good. The previous commenter is correct, the 2022 - 2024 Tucson does not have fog lights. But the Limited model only has the premium projector LED headlights which are more than adequate at lighting a dark road. I own a 2023 Limited in the Intense Blue color like your model. I noticed you had your phone charging on the bottom of the cut out. It actually charges at an angle more on its side in the cut out unless they changed that for the 24 model. 2022 to 2024 is mostly a carryover model. I have heard that steering wheel haptic feedback has been added to the 24 model along with seatbelt chime for the back seat. In the Limited model every light inside and out is LED except for the back turn signals and back up lights. I have never understood why Hyundai does that. The front turn signals are LED and the back turn signals are incandescent. The license plate illumination is LED but the back up lights are a standard bulb. Would it really have been difficult to put an LED bulb in the reverse lights? And why not complete the car with LED rear turn signals? In my opinion that is just plain crazy. Of course changing them out is not a big problem especially for reverse lights. Turn signals will require a resistor to prevent hyper flash. But why should I have to do that? Overall I agree with you, the Tucson Limited is a very nice vehicle and has adequate power for normal driving. A turbo like in the Sonata would have been nice. Also a top line Sonata has a heads up display and Tucson does not probably due to the design. And one last thing, why use a cheap rod to hold up the hood instead of hydraulics? But I still say it is a very stylish inside and out SUV with many luxurious touches. If I had any say in the design I would have addressed what I discussed above and made the SUV absolutely perfect. The one thing I can and will take care of are the back turn signals and reverse lights making mine closer to perfect.

It's a superb SUV, no doubt. However, we're going with the Buick Envista Avenir. The reason is that the top trim is very reasonable after discounts. I like the size, has everything we need. I can take that car home for 30k after everything. In my opinion, the life of these vehicles won't be that long because the government is going to push electric. How? Of course, by raising gas prices! The result will be a FLOOD of used SUV's as electric cars hit critical mass. So If I can put 8k to 10k less into the car, as long as I get a good 6 years out of it, I'll be happy. Those are my thoughts. I do think the Tuscon's top trim is just incredible, just too much for my pocketbook.

The Envista is not a competitor for the Tucson. Simply put, the Envista is a Subcompact and the Tucson is a Compact. There is a SIGNIFICANT size difference between the two. You get what you pay for. You could use the same argument of "I bought the Envista instead of the Palisade because it was cheaper". Just not in the same competition bracket... the Envista competes in the smallest entry-level bracket... it doesn't compete in the larger, more expensive segment.

How's the reliability of the 1.6T engine? I am looking for one but really concern about the engine reliability. Look at the reddit and these engines are getting seized while driving. There are recalls for these engines. And Hyundai is asking for a lot of documents and would deny the warranty in many cases.

Quick point on the Tucson. It comes with 3 engine options ICE 2.5L NA (total dog) Hybrid 1.6L Turbo + Elec PHEV 1.6L Turbo + Bigger Elec So, the 1.6L is only in higher trims, not the base. Hyundai's 1.6L Turbo has been around for awhile now... at least since 2016... it's a great engine and to my knowledge hasn't had any recalls ever (many Hyundai engines have had recalls but the 1.6L Turbo avoids them all). I've personally owned two Tucsons with the 1.6L Turbo (a 2018 and a 2023 Hybrid) and never had a problem with either one. I love that engine! Reddit is full of idiots, morons and trolls. I wouldn't trust that as a source.... there are Older Hyundai engines with a bad track record (none currently in production) and once a moron or a troll gets ahold of "one Hyundai engine being bad" (like the Theta) they immediately go on Reddit and say "ALL HYUNDAI ENGINES ARE BAD".... morons and trolls. I've personally driven the 1.6L Turbo for YEARS on two different vehicles.... never had a problem. .. it's a great engine.

    Why not?? Please explain... 😊

@cherrylicious2 they tend to experience an overabundance of carbon build-up over time due to fuel being over sprayed into the manifold and accumulating on the engine. That leads to a dirty engine, which leads to components failing, which potentially leads to costly expenses. Not a short term issue, though. I just would not want to take a chance with anything I planned on keeping.

@scorproy123 I worked for Hyundai 12 years ago. The carbon build up was known to be caused by over spray from the injectors, regardless of if the oil was old or not. Newer models have port injection added, which is supposed to eliminate most of the over spray issues. I'm skeptical until long term results are seen.

That is true but not enough reason to stay away when the amount of cases is low in comparison to production numbers.

Idk if I can agree with that. Hyundai and Kia have drastically improved from the 90s to mid 2000s era. I'd say they give Toyota plenty competition! Both are great companies
