Hybrid is probably a safer bet with the 6 speed auto, but it's slower. The 2.5T is a good engine, but the DCT is janky and problematic. Wish they had put a regular auto in it.

It’s more of a sports car transmission and it’s a carry over, nothing new with the powertrain. They should’ve put a non dct but Hyundai is adding them in a lot of vehicles 👍

@HawkeyeRides Yeah, my 2021 has it. In April we went on a road trip from Seattle to the Grand Canyon and other Southwest parks, and the transmission was having significant driveabikity issues and didn't think we were going to make it home. In the two weeks since then, it has been operating perfectly, so if I take it to the dealer they will tell me it's fine. It's the second transmission in this car and has 6500 miles on it. 15,500 on car. I love everything else about the car, but the DCT is a hot mess. I wish I had lemon lawed it when the first transmission crapped out.

@charleshedberg7789 even in sports cars they don’t last. I like the ZF the best they last forever and are just as fast as a dct and less maintenance. Thanks for sharing your owners insight

@@HawkeyeRidesThat’s another factor against the dct, it does require more scheduled maintenance than the other.

Great job explaining... It does get confusing with so many combinations / permutations... Correction: Believe it or not, Honda CRV's in parts of Asia comes with 3 rows !!! I suppose obesity is not as much of an issue.. One conccern I do have is HP and Torque of Hybrid but from what I can tell, you are happy with it.. ???

Thanks for the comparison! Any difference in power of the HVAC system? Sometimes hybrids have a more powerful AC system because of the electric power assist.

The Infiniti team said he will have 2 in 3-4 weeks and I’m going to check in with our Nissan team this week for updates. I’m looking forward to these updates Shawn not only for the powertrain but the ride quality and interior.

It went as low is 8 MPG’s less when driving with a mix of acceleration but with cruise it was 31 MPG’s. I will also note that as you drive it with more miles the MPG’s should change and become closer to the stated numbers.

i heard there's a spare tire mount for the hybrid you can install? do you know anything about that?

I contacted multiple Hyundai dealerships plus Hyundai and all of them said no. I did read that you can fit a Kia holder but when I ask about that they said it may not fit.

@@HawkeyeRides I appreciate you for checking. Spare tire is a must for me. Especially driving around a lot. I get many have the "complimentary" roadside assistance for the first 5 years but after? A spare is always necessary. I may look into that kia spare tire mount

The sante fe version in Australia gets a full size spare.

HI i have the SEL Hybrid. Can i put the 20" Rims on like the calligraphy? I would be using the same rim size and tires. 20x8.5 5x114.30 tires 255/45/R20 . Just trying to confirm i cant see why not thanks.

@@gibreezy A lot eBay $450 each but i will get similar ones for cheaper. Looking now. I cant stand the SEL wheels and I wouldn't pay another $8000 or more for the upper model for them you know.

@@frankie4018 I don’t know the offset and I would try to go with the same number as it could rub when turning. If you are doing aftermarket they will be able to find the centric wheel hubs to fit.

You forgot to mention that the hybrid doesn't come with a spare tire. Only has a fix a flat kit.

@@Dave_W861you could on the 2023 calligraphy, Kia had the best priced kit, but Hyundai offered one as well. I doubt there’s one for the hybrids since the battery pack takes up space.

You can but the hybrid you don’t have room unless you don’t mind losing the truck as the battery takes the spot for it.

@@HawkeyeRides I was thinking just to even have it when I pull my trailer with a dirt bike so I could at least attached to the trailer or put it in the back of the car for the long trips. Wasn't sure how Dependable that Mobility kit is but I guess it would be fine to bring a tire plug kit as well just to play it safe. Love the vehicle plan on buying one this week. Thanks for the great video

Its too bad that they are 43-48K in my area depending on the trim. For that kind of money, I can get something a bit smaller in a more reliable luxury brand. The car market needs to cool a little.

I agree the market needs too

Hyundai is nuts at that price. Need to drop it by 10k. Mazda CX 90 Phev and inline 6 is in that price range and I can get 7500 lease cash from Mazda for the Phev. I'll take the Mazda Japanese build over this. If the Hybrid Calligraphy Santa FE was 42k I'd consider it.
