I'm so in love with this new design. The exterior is fun and stylish. Looks like nothing else. The interior has an upscale vibe and a lot of thoughtful, innovative touches. The price is relatively good. It's going on my list of vehicles to consider.

I just got one a couple weeks ago. I've been loving it so far. I wish I would have kept my 2017 civil coupe as a backup/2nd car though

I was able to check this new gen out the day after the debut and damn is it awesome, especially for the price

I LOVE how futuristic and “cyberpunky” Hyundais new designs are as well as Kia. Amazing quality, some of the best reliability, and tech that other brands make you pay for as STANDARD that works just as well if not better for bargain prices, ON TOP OF THE BEST WARRANTY IN EXISTENCE no brainer. This thing blacked out and lowered would look SICK but maybe don’t try to race anyone 😂

This thing has a lot of potential. It looks like the AWD version should have over 8 inches of ground clearance, too. I'm not a huge fan of the 1.6L engine but it seems okay enough. And I can't deny the amount of features and space, and generally pleasing interior. Wish they'd bring a hybrid version to the US.

@@sentryion3106Exactly. This engine has been their bread and butter for the last 5 years and is really above par for the segment, does what it needs to do and is torquey enough to feel peppy on the highway when needed.

Finally wireless apple CarPlay and android auto on the bigger infotainment screen!! … by early 2024 at least… been waiting this feature for so long across all Hyundai/Kia products. I have a 24 kona and the wireless android auto drains the battery, but it's good for short trips or taking a couple quick deliveries. Longer drives I just use built in navigation or plug it in

I love it. The seats are very comfortable and spacious. My Kona limited has a spare tire inside.

I have the 24 kona sel convenience and it came with spare tire too. I like how much space it has around the spare tire for extra supplies and I can hide my pizza delivery bags there for my side job

Came here after watching the Elantra video excited for the actual cargo measurements…sad to see no measurement behind the second row. Thank you guys for doing cargo measurements but measurements with the backseat up and down would be nice. I don’t want to lay the seats down to carry a wheelchair in the back.

Really looking forward to testing this out myself. I'm hoping it feel more like a sedan (lower to the ground/not as tall) than something like the Seltos or Sportage. I also hope that expanded trunk holds my golf clubs easily without the need for putting the back seats down. Any chance for a measurement just inside the trunk opening, to get that max width that might hold golf clubs?

If you're going with FWD trim, you'd have 6.9" ground clearance but the AWD trim comes with an 8.1" ground clearance. That's definitely higher than the seltos with a 7.3" clearance.

Love the 2024 Kona ! I drove a 23 Kona N-Line for a month (no charge loaner) while my 2022 Tucson Hybrid was in the shop getting a new transmission along with new front drive components. Your cargo length measurement is very handy. I measured my Tucson cargo length and got 68 inches behind the driver's seat (set for me at 5' 11"). Appreciate your work ! How was the driver's seat set for your measurement ?

My brother has a 22 Tuscon and I just got a 24 Kona. The interior of the Kona is way better than the Tucson and most of the exterior looks better too. The Tucson just has slightly better tail lights imo but it's very similar with the light bar

The Tuscon has a little more space than the Kona but I was willing to have a little bit less cargo space for a much better car overall, plus a little less expensive too

This Hyundai Kona looks like an Ionic 5 a little bit but this car is awesome looks so attractive 12-inch gauge cluster and infotainment system which is great however seats are very comfortable SE & SEL trim have clothes seats and this N line and limited trim Hyundai has provided suede leather that will be price different because this model price is high than se and sel this car embargo 12 September I will waiting to drive this car thanks

Definitely. It feels very cramped and claustrophobic. The all-black interior doesn't help. Lighter seats on upper trims doesn't cut it.

@@palebeachbum The CX-30 is pretty, but it’s designed for toddlers. I don’t know what Mazda is thinking.

Driving a 2022 Kona Limited and the engine is the same in the 2024. Glad they went with an 8-speed AT instead of the "jerky" DCT. Loving the new interior and I will definitely get this car IF I can get one late next year (it'll be a 2025 model year by then), or I may get the EV, but let's see the price difference for leasing (tax credits for leasing an EV). Heated steering wheel and cooling seats? Yes, please. Better yet, love the side view images in the dash when using turn signals, as well as that self-park (both were in the 2023 Sonata).

I was wondering the same thing. I ended up getting a SEL convenience trim to get better gas mileage. I've heard the 1.6 turbo gets significantly worse mpg, but the N line looks the best with the color matched metal fenders. The 2.0 Kona engine gets about the same MPGs as my last car 2017 Civic 1.5 turbo at about 27 to 28 mpg average. I get 35 on longer drives

Would love to see this compared to the 2024 Trax

NOT SURE WHY THIS COLOUR IS AVAILABLE IN THE US BUT NOT IN CANADA. I BOUGHT ONE AND WAS GIVEN THE OPTION OF THREE COLOURS.

Honestly, I love the Palisade front look but everything else is kinda boring. This looks good at all angles and then you see the interior and it looks so close to a Palisade, not AS good but for 10k less its pretty amazing. Would be hard to choose Palisade over this except for obvious reasons. Since I have no kids I don't see any reason to choose Palisade.

I need it. I will have it.

i love all of the features, such as the intuitive infotainment system and extensive safety features, but i just can't seem to get over the huge black cladding and the use of so much hard plastic in the interior. i'm considering this, the 2024 sonata, 2024 sportage, and the 2024 CX-5 and i'm just not really sure as what to buy. the mazda is more luxurious, which i like, but hyundai tends to have best-in-class safety features. any recommendations?

I got my 2024 Hyundai Kona SEL with the Convenience Package for 25k. 27 after taxes. They took like 4.5k off the MSRP

Good job guys, no fluff just facts and no one trying to be a comedian. I wish Hyundai lighting designers would put the rear turn signals higher. This for me is a major safety issue and enough for me to buy something else.

I love my 24 Kona but my biggest complaint, probably my only complaint is not having soft arm rests with the SEL trim. Lots of hard plastics abound. I typically can overlook it, but there are certainly times when it's noticable

I’ve been a Honda consumer for many years, but the last few years Honda took a turn for the worst, less for more money !!! The quality of Honda in the last 5 years has declined and it makes me sad to say that. So when my 2022 CRV Touring lease ends next year I believe it’s time for me to jump ship, and I get no pleasure to say that.

I loved my 2017 Honda Civic Coupe 1.5 turbo so much but I traded it in for a 2024 Hyundai Kona since I'm gonna have a kid and need 4 doors. Love the Kona too. You are right about Honda though, the latest generation models are boring imo. The generation 10 Civic is still amazing but they took away the cool looks in the gen 11 Civic. Kia and Hyundai are better options for a new car now, offering more tech, more features and better looks for the money than new Hondas

This new Kona blows the Trax out of the water. It's more upscale inside. The engine has a timing chain instead of a timing belt like the Trax, and if you go with the 2.0L Kona there is no turbo to break later down the road like in the Trax.

That cladding isnt rugged. It's way too big and makes it look cheap.

Except you have to get to the Limited to get all the goodies and that is reported to be around$36K. so no thanks. love all the design elements inside and out but the price....

This new Kona is impressive! Hondas used to be good values and I currently have a 2019 CR-V. Compact cuvs have hit a point where they’re no longer affordable. I’ll have to check this out in the next few years when I replace the CR-V. The new HR-V is underpowered and lacking in features compared to this more powerful and loaded Kona.

I mean they cost the same as they have for years. I got my 2024 Kona SEL with Convenience package for 25k. 27k after taxes. There are lots of used cars going for 20k or more. Don't get me wrong though even 25k is a lot of money when on a tight budget and already paying a lot for rent and other bills, plus all the inflation in recent years. The new cars alone are pretty affordable though. Throw in needing a second car and it really starts to get expensive

I 100% agree, Hyundai and Kia are the way to go. Their recent designs are incredible. I got a 24 kona myself. I had 2017 Honda Civic coupe and loved the looks of that gen 10 civic but Honda dialed back their looks on recent models and they just look plain and boring now

The latest recall is worrisome. I wouldn’t buy one.

I went with the 2.0 because a lot of dealerships had an active recall on the 1.6 turbo engine

The front grill is hideous. It looks like it’s missing 😂. Seriously it looks like most cars look when you take the front grill off.

1. Speed limit system doesnt work half the time since ituses speed signs .. and cant be permanently turned off 2. Lane assist gets it wrong on 3 lane roads and takes control of the car when it shouldnt.. this is dangerous... can only be temp turned off 3. parking causes the automatic braking to engage Very poorly designed systems

In what world does this have better tech than the Palisade?

I really, really hate how Hyundai/Kia are placing signal lights and now BRAKE LIGHTS way down low on the rear of the vehicle. It's definitely a deal breaker for me!
