AT4X is for someone that wanted a young professional’s truck. Denali HD is for old men with money Denali Ultimate is for young men with daddy’s money AT4X is for that midlife crisis man that wants to hit some sideroads

I had a 2020 Sierra Denali 2500 with the Duramax. Awesome and powerful truck no doubt. Sold it due to how uncomfortable it was on long trips. Seats were like a rock. Other than that a solid vehicle. Paid 70K. The prices they are asking today for these HD's is just plain stupid. Even if you have the money for it.

I think it’s worth the extra price. They actually give you more/ different “stuff”. Realistically the vast majority of people just want the capability and style, rarely do they actually use it. I got no problem with it lol er’body do your own thang😂

Wow I didn’t see that coming with the AT4X being noticeably taller than the AT4. The “standard” 2020+ HDs are huge to begin with so the ZR2/AT4X are monsters lol. Personally I’d take the AT4. I think that’s the best trim for the GMCs. I’m not crazy about the black bumpers on the AT4X. They suit the Chevy’s I guess since we have seen them for awhile now but I’d rather have the body color of the AT4. I also don’t particularly like that bronze color. GM does that on the High Country too and I’m not crazy about it. The AT4X does offer some nice upgrades though. I’m sure the price would be a little closer if the AT4 in this video was loaded. And then at that point it might be worth it since you get massage seats, better sound system and then the shocks. I still like the styling better on the AT4 though.

AT4X has a 1.5" factory lift and taller tires so the height difference looks about right. I wish you could combine both trucks because there are certain things I prefer about both.

So hungry to own that X! Just ordered my 2nd '24 AT4. First one got hit with only 3k miles on it. Got it back from body shop just don't trust anymore. Wanted to go with X, but need that extra payload from the 3500. Bad ass truck man! Wish I didn't need to tow as much. That truck is freaking bad ass in and out. 👊

Great looking trucks. One thing that kinda disappoints a little is the standard sized sunroof. Such a small sunroof for such a big truck. A panoramic sunroof would be the cherry on top. If I were going for the AT4, I think I’d skip out on the sunroof altogether.

It depends what you are looking for. If I were to buy anyone of these trucks for driving around, I'd chose the AT4. But I'd chose the AT4X if I were to do any off-roading.

100000% agree. I bought my 2024 AT4HD because I thought the Denali HD had too many “old man” touches, wood grain vs carbon fiber interior trim designs, and not really the full blown off-roader AT4X either, as I don’t do stuff like that.

If I were doing any off roading, I wouldn’t pick a 90k 4 door truck. I’d use my truck to haul my RZR, and then go off road.

They should add a panoramic roof as an option and it's perfect.

I was completely unaware of the AT4X with the AEV package. Partially my fault, as I told my salesman I wanted a 3500 for the specific payload reasons. after chatting with him outside premisses a few weeks later, He told he could make some phone calls and probably have the AT4X AEV package put on the 3500... but at that point it was too late for me. won't be long before they start making the AT4X AEV on the 3500.

Pick up my at4x on Thursday! Pumped

@jb_whowork is the height gained at the rear fender well by a block attached to rear axle or are there other suspension components that give it the lift?

AT4 for a mix of off-road capability & great towing/payload capacity. AT4X for pure hard-core off-road capability.

I hate that GM is still using Rancho garbage. Those shocks failed on my truck shortly after purchase. One in the front and one in the rear.

The Ranchos are horrible. Just went Bilsteins all around, and it's like driving a different truck. Actually, dumping the Duratrac's for Nitto Ridge Grapplers made it perfect because those Duratrac's are obnoxiously loud and suck in the mud

Everyone is hung up on superficial appearance issues. Red tow hooks? Who cares? What ever happened to buying a truck because it was a truck? 3500 over 2500 any day.

@@bruceblackerby37422500’s you have to pay a “luxury tax” on the insurance 3500’s don’t cause they’re a work truck. 3500’s have heavier duty springs, and a greater towing capacity

JB when you get a chance compare the Ford Tremor vs the GMC AT4X...side by side with comparable equipment and trims if possible...Thanks I just priced out a Platinum F250 Tremor with the HO diesel, max recline seats, panoramic roof and a few other stuff at 97,995.00 So its priced comparably just would like to see a side by side. The GMC is the better looking truck but I need capacity for towing and we off road some with our camper and I use the bed daily for work and towing.

Love em and color like my Tacoma cement. Can’t do that price though. Insane

What is the difference in ride quality? Every day driver ?

Hey man question for you. If you had a choice at the same price would you do 2024 GMC 2500 AT4 in thunderstorm or a 2024 ram 2500 Limited. I know ram very well as I just had to lemon law my 2022 2500 but no experience with GMC.

Great review. I wish they made lowering brackets for the high profile running boards. It’s a stretch for my wife to enter and exit my 3500 AT4

If you were pulling an enclosed trailer, 8.5 x 28, Which unit would you purchase?

Those Ranchos are hot ass garbage. Just the shocks make the difference in my opinion.

The seats in the x win. Also the brown inlays are foul. Great channel!

I wish he would've compared the seats from a comfort standpoint. The AT4X comes with massaging seats, but I've also heard (but can't really get it verified) that the Denali Ultimate seats are more comfortable than the regular Denali. I'm assuming the same would hold true for the AT4X vs AT4 since the X has essentially the same seat structure as the Ultimate.

What color is the at4x?

Excellent video. AT4X you are getting shocks and a so-called interior/audio upgrade. No front lockers. Column shifter seems so dated. At the 1500 level AT4X all the way. On the HD's the difference between basic and X seems marginal. Retractable running boards are a must.

I took my 2024 and put the cognito 4 inch with upper control arms and 37s for 6k

So the at4x in the 1500 has front and rear locking diffs and the at4x 2500 has only rear locking diffs?????

Silverado 3500HD with the Z71 Sport package looks better than either GMC. With the 6.6 gas, I have 4076 pounds of payload.

At4x is a no go. No 3500 option. That's what's nice about the super duty tremor. Can get f350 tremor xlt diesel to maximize payload to 4230

Should you buy either at those prices should be the question

Nice trucks. I'm still sticking with my F-350 lariat tremor, 4100+ payload and solid front axle with limited slip differential. It really depends on what you need.

The X is a bust for me with the lack of payload and the lack of a 1 ton option. Plus, I’m not going to go wheel my new truck, I’ve got toys for that.

@jb_whowork Get out of my head! This is the exact comparison & specs I have been debating on. Due to my towing needs, it will be the 3500 it seems. How do you feel the 3500 drives compared to the 2500. Any stiffer or do the extra springs only kick in once under load? The 2500 is a tank, I’m concerned the 3500 is worse but no one has any in stock to test drive.

They ride the same unloaded. Once you hit the extra leaf in the 3500 you'll notice it's a bit harder ride. Super impressed with the 3500 ride quality. Coming out of a 2021 f150 to one of these soon and they ride quite similar.

I don’t see 11k for the suspension, and I bet the wheels are interchangeable

From what I’ve seen the difference is in options. When I built it online the AT4 was a couple thousand less expensive. Then I looked at the front and was sold on the AT4X

I love both trucks. But I'm not sure who can afford them unless they are willing to go into a lot of debt. Looked at a 2024 at4 x starts at 90k.... that's more than my house cost me in 2004.

Have been waiting for a few years for that AT4X. The time comes.... No winch option from factory. Come on GM/ AEV. Keeping the PW and will just build a new Prospecter XL. My first duramax was an 2001, you had a chance.... You lost it.

They should have a 3500 AT4X so Ford wins that with the F350 FX4. Tremor would be even with AT4X AEV
