    Andre really summed up the biggest issue with his truck with his comment about not wanting to roll the windows down and have dust get inside the beautiful cabin. Built for trails, but too nice and expensive to take on trails.

    Those are Ram dealers who are also AEV dealers. The warranty is also through AEV and if you read the fine print is not nearly as comprehensive as a true factory warranty. No loaners, no roadside assistance, no payment deferrals, while it's getting repaired, it's not transferable. If their parts cause damage to a factory component they won't cover that either. This GMC has a full actual factory warranty that covers everything a normal new vehicle warranty does.

Trucks are definitely getting bigger but my superduty is narrower then chevy toyota and ram 1/2 tons. The long wheel base and height make it tough sometimes but doable. Definitely don't get a heavy duty truck if your not carrying weight though when empty they ride rougher add weight and they smooth out.

    I probably missed the build / overview of the Ram video. But it's nice to see a vehicle that was bought and built. Which I could see a lot of people doing, in order not spend so much up front. It would be cool to see TFL add 37's to the AT4X or (do similar 35's to the 1500) to see a before and after. I was surprised how well the Rams limited slip did. The G80 takes way too much more effort. Lastly, with your wide presence now, can you all start complaining about vehicle prices? Their obviously not listening to consumers.

    Depends on your use of the truck, just like most decisions. Are you pulling a 5th wheel down the highway 90% of the time, or are you plowing snow in the winter, working in the oil fields, at job sites in remote spots, run many miles of graded (washboard) dirt roads? IFS is much less forgiving of abuse.

    If most of your time is spent bashing over things, then solid front is much more durable. If you spend of your time at high speed, like on the highway or even just high-speed dirt roads, then independent front is generally much more durable. Also, in the case of GM, it's not just IFS, it's a torsion bar IFS. If wish to add a small lift, an advantage to that type IFS is the relative simplicity of the torsion key, making it easy to add slight lift or leveling. To do the same with a SFA would require many more parts and adjustments to make everything work correctly. However, if anything beyond that, there are way more modification and upgrade possibilities with SFA. If you are a serious off-roader and you want to go all out on the front suspension so you can have the capability and durability for very rough terrain, the SFA is absolutely superior.

In my opinion, anything more than a 2 inch lift is probably too much for any truck/SUV. The lift needs to be just barely enough to fit the tires. Your thoughts? @@kamakazioverland4584

    You guys went with the wrong suspension system… BDS is trash. Thuren or Carli are the only two names I would use for a RAM HD. Carli probably has the better ride quality but Thuren owns it in the down travel numbers, most down travel of any RAM HD aftermarket suspension. I have a full Thuren build on my 19 Power Wagon, ride quality in the rocks is great and it takes a lot to get a wheel off the ground.

    I just commented that the flex on the rams rear axle over the razor rocks looked pretty underwhelming. Im pretty sure my F150 with some cheap Bilstein 5100’s has more travel. And the front seems like it didnt have much uptravel as they didnt even seem to be able to get the 37” tires near the fenders. I wonder if it rides poorly because its on the bump stops a lot.

  • @jamesngotts

    @jamesngotts

    @@Jay-me7gw yes, because BDS doesn’t address the things that actually add flex/travel with their system. It’s simply a for looks lift package that maintains towing numbers but adds zero off road travel. In fact it’s actually detrimental to performance because it lifts the trucks center of gravity but adds no down travel to maintain stability
