And here I bought a 2016 2500HD Duramax High Country with the 3 tone brown leather interior, every available option - and when it was brand it was $67K. How have we are at $100K for the same running gear pretty much, but a different dash and display unit. It’s just insane what the prices of trucks has come to. Lift it, new wheels and tires, and a couple more good things and boom, yours at $150K. That’s crazy.

That's still pretty expensive, you must've got it when they first released. I got mine oncethe 17s came out. 2016 Denali brand new for 54k out the door. Long bed 1 ton. Beautiful bright blue. Full emissions delete after 5k miles lol. Been a great truck

What's 5k on 90k.....absolutely nothing People buying these trucks aren't gonna care about the gas money difference.....they will buy what they want Beautiful trucks!

I have the Ultimate 2500 HD and I absolutely love it, 5k more and you get such an upgrade in interior and it was so worth it to me. Highly, highly recommend this truck.

A 100,000 dollar home , if you keep it up and maintained will grow in value. A 100,000 dollar truck will only decrease in value , even if you keep it up and add extras to it like exhaust lift better tires and rims and so on so. it dont make sense buying a 100,00 dollar vehicle, or it dont make sense that a vehicle cost that much especially a truck that are made to work with. but this is a crazy world we live in.

Thanks for a very insightful video. Since this may be my last truck purchase I am probably going to go with the Ultimate. Honestly -- it deserves the name Ultimate based on the interior alone. I have not seen so nice an interior on a GMC truck. The last one I had that was as nice was a Ford F-350 King Ranch.

I got the regular Denali with the reserve package, Power steps, Color matched fenders & upgraded black rims. I did this because I wanted all black interior. 5k for massage seats, Vader chrome & a kicker speaker, didn't make sense to me. Mine optioned out it just under 93k. This was an order cancellation, so I was able to snatch it up. I might have taken it if an Ultimate had been available for prompt delivery. Purchased it last week but had to wait for the rims. I picked it up yesterday. Absolutely love it!

We ordered the 2024 3500HD Denali and items that used to be include with the Denali pkg, are now optional extra cost, but included with the expensive Ultimate. Not worth the cost.

The ‘embossment’ on the leather is the topographic map of Denali.

There are several other options....most at additional cost of course. I was not a fan of the stock wheels, but went to see a truck in person yesterday and I actually now like the stock wheels. You could also just go with aftermarket wheels if there are none that you like!

Yes. There are 5 other 20" options available for an extra $3-4k. These range from gloss black, machined two-tone, to chrome.

Its crazy that GM wants to sell you a $100k truck with ugly little wheels.

Really like everything about the Ultimate, nice build except the black chrome. Black chrome seems a current trend / fad… To an ‘old guy, Chrome is classic style.

Can’t decided which one to go for, currently have a ‘21 Elevation so already a big step up to a 2500 he but sorely needed for work. Too many times i found myself with not a big enough truck. Also depends on the wait time for an Ultimate as they are hard to come by in my area.

Give it some time and you can probably buy a chrome grill from a body shop and just switch it out. Usually just some pulltabs and some bolts to uninstall and reinstall.

For those looking for a gas 2500 Denali Ultimate interior you can essentially do that now that the AT4X has come out.

What about safety features? Different packages?

Those wheels and the brake controller location is going to save me some money 💰 this year….not a fan Run my 2022 for a bit longer

Does lifting the truck impact the mpg in a negative way?

For that kind of money, where is the power tilt\telescopic steering and power pedals?

Are the seats in the Denali Ultimate softer or more comfortable? Or do they just have the massaging seat feature but other than that feel the same?

The material on the seats are softer in the Ultimate. It's not a huge differences but noticeable to the touch.

Definitely should compare the at4 with them.

Funny to me how time change use to the l It's the ultimate or any the paint out truck would've the beginning stages. An the chrome is what made the higher level trim an the painted it not bugs an stuff have the paint chiped where the chrome will look new still

That's just like, if they can get a person to buy a High Country over a LTZ, when they the same truck, it's on the buyer.

That's true. I was in the market for a high country but couldn't find one with the 6.2 so I settled on the ltz fully loaded. Just don't have the bronze trim. I'm happy with it though

This the way I see it, the denali should have been what the ultimate is anyway, it's always been the top of the line but, if they can get somebody to pay for the "ultimate" name, it's on the buyer🤷🏾‍♂️

I’d go for the ultimate 5k more and you get better audio and massaging seats, but I like the trim look of the Denali

If GM offers the 6.6 gas engine in the Denali ultimate hd I would buy it

At my local dealer in Albuquerque NM they quoted me 104,000 for a denali Ultimate w/ color match trim is that the gouge price or is that the normal price compared to other states?

It will depend on the options and accessories. I have seen some Ultimates surpass $100k MSRP but I haven't seen one quite that high.

for me I just can't stand the brown interior, I currently have the old 17 Denali ultimate 1500 and was looking to trade it in for an hd but just can't do the brown interior, but it's not only that, the prices have gone insane, plus the def problems with the exhaust and the price to repair that I have heard about just turns me off with diesel now a days. guess I will have to wait. but I also have been happy with truck so far. bought it at the end of 2019 with 25k miles on it, now has 98k miles and all I have done has been oil changes and brakes, guess I got lucky.

Someone else did bring up the fact that the standard Denali comes with the option of a black interior. That would be another big reason to me that someone might want that trim instead of the Ultimate. Thanks for sharing!

2020 is when GMC really made good changes on this truck/2023 they added 40 more horsepower

The ultimate has darkened chrome everything.... except for the upper part of the mirrors. Weird.

Great video! I am cross shopping these trims and will almost certainly go with the Ultimate. I prefer the darker chrome and having massaging seats while towing our 5th wheel around the country will be more comfortable. I would love to have seen the payload capacity of both trucks.

I just feel this is not fair knowing that the denali is top of the line and feel they took away from it and put it on the ultimate denali.

It's nice, but my 22 ram 1500 limited interior still blows it away. 19 speaker Harmon audio, full panoramic roof and full air ride. Gm still has a long way to catch up

@Brian1975 A chump truck that I'm sure you can't afford with your hillbilly talk. Interior is the same for a ram HD, and it's still the luxury leader. There is a reason most people that tow heavy non stop for business buy a cummins with an aisin trans....

Neither. I have a yellow lab that sheds hair and would scratch the leather. In TX, the leather will burn you in 100 degree heat and will crack in a few years. Love the design, but premium cloth is the way to go. My current 10yr old Duramax with premium cloth seats do not have a single rip or tear after 10yrs…with dogs jumping on them. They do collect dog hair but that can be cleaned. I spent $45k on my Duramax 10 years ago and with 220k miles still runs like new. To pay 100k for a new truck in my opinion is excessive.

On the NORMAL denali yes, not on the ultimate

At4 is much nicer looking that big chrome grill went out with the bee gees.

The accent colors on the Ultimate are horrible and look like a King Ranch interior. Should be an option for all black. WHY did they place the infotainment screen so far below the drivers line of sight? Horrible placement. Denali Ultimate IF I could pick a different interior color.

I think GMC should have kept the same wheel well opening style as the Chevrolet.

It is nicer than japan cars/trucks
